Last year, The Body Shop sold a beauty advent calendar every 30 seconds.

Just let that sink in for a minute.

That’s a LOT of sales and a LOT of calendars.

This year, their hugely popular calendars are celebrating female empowerment. The Body Shop was founded on feminism and empowering girls is deeply seated within their values so this year they are helping you to imagine a Christmas where anything is possible.

For each and every day of advent you can learn about 25 inspirational women and how their dreams changed the world.

Exquisitely illustrated by female artist Helena Perez Garcia, the calendars are celebrating the achievements of brilliant women who dream big and make history with daily trivia to inspire and empower YOU.

But The Body Shop have gone one step further with this too as they have partnered up with Plan International UK, a children’s charity that is passionate about children’s rights and equality for girls.

By shopping with them this Christmas, you’ll be helping to support Plan International UK provide education and skills training to 1,500 girls in Indonesia and Brazil.

Despite it being 2019, some girls and women in Indonesia and Brazil don’t have access to education, are unemployed, and earn less than men when they do work. The Body Shop hopes that by teaming up with the charity they can contribute to projects that give these young women the tools they need to dream big and succeed in life.

Isn’t that incredible. If I’m honest, I think that this right here is truly the spirit of Christmas - giving and helping those less fortunate than ourselves.

I just adore the idea of learning something each day too. Something about iconic and important women who have worked tirelessly to make things better for women throughout the years.

I personally feel that this alone is really special.
