Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm

I really don’t care what you say, I maintain that you can never own too many decent lip balms. There is simply no such thing as 'too many'.

Lip balm is one of those products that you will ALWAYS need and unlike many other skincare products, you will ALWAYS use.

It’s for those reasons that when I realised that luxury Hungarian skincare brand Omorovicza had their own lip balm, I knew I had to try it.

Now I’m going to be honest from the start and say that this is one of the most expensive lip balms that I own. Priced at £32 for 10ml this Perfecting Lip Balm it is pretty expensive, BUT it is a hell of a lip balm. In fact it is now an award winner having been awarded ‘Best Lip Balm’ at the Beauty Shortlist Awards 2018.

‘But what’s so good about it?’ I hear you ask. Well I’ll tell you.

Contained within a compact, chic glass jar with white lid adorned with the Omorovicza logo this pretty, pale pink balm plumps your lips, smooths and nourishes imperfections and provides long lasting hydrating all day long.

Enriched with Shea Butter and Eucalyptus Oil this balm creates a gentle, tingling sensation upon application and leaves your lips feeling full and soft.

It also contains hyaluronic filling spheres to offer deep hydration to your lips, leaving them feeling softer and smoother than ever before.

Palmitoyl Oligopeptide helps to subtly increase lip volume over prolonged use and Omega 6 Ceramide helps to replenish dehydrated skin and restores softness and elasticity.

Those are some pretty fab sounding ingredients I’m sure you’ll agree.

The balm itself is soft, rich and thick in texture. It possesses a pleasant, delicate hint of eucalyptus and when applied to your lips, literally glides on and into place.

You can feel its thickness and richness but it doesn’t feel heavy, gloopy or sticky on your lips.

It creates this really nice cooling sensation when first applied, along with a barely detectably tingling.

Don’t worry, it isn’t like a lip plumper which can make your lips feel like they’re on fire, it is very, very subtle.

My lips were left feeling instantly hydrated and nourished and in turn, looked and felt fuller.

I love the subtle sheen that the balm offers and often choose to wear this alone in lieu of any other lip product.

That said, it can also be used as a fabulous overnight intensive lip treatment when your lips are in need of some serious TLC or as a great plumping and priming treatment prior to your lipstick or lipgloss application.

It stays on your lips far longer than many other balms I’ve used so you don’t need to constantly re-apply and in turn this means that the balm lasts longer.

I adore this brand so it came as no surprise to me that I loved this lip balm. It is expensive but it works. It works really, really well and I’d rather spend £32 on a product that is going to do a brilliant job than £5 on a product that I’m going to bin within a few days because its either been used up already or just simply doesn’t work.

Omorovicza’s Award Winning Perfecting Lip Balm is available now and costs £32.

Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a million times. You can never have too many lip products.

Now, you may have a sh*t tonne of lip balms in your collection, but how many lip treatments do you have? Or more precisely, nightly lip treatments?

Didn’t think so.

Take a look then at Dermalogica’s new Nightly Lip Treatment, and wherever you do, don’t call it a ‘lip balm’!

Lip ageing is as inevitable as any other type of ageing but often gets overlooked when it comes to skincare.

Our mouth area produces laugh lines, fine lines, and vertical lines over time, just like any other part of your face but by looking after that area correctly you can help to reduce the appearance of ageing.

The guys at Dermalogica have got you covered thanks to their new nightly lip treatment.

Designed to be used on and around your lips, this rich formula works to firm, hydrate and restore the skin around your mouth.

Vitamin rich shea butter instantly hydrates and improves skins elasticity while Indian Gentian Extract, advanced Volumizing Technology and Sesame Seed Extract work to restore the skins volume and reduce the appearance of fine feather lines and wrinkles.

The treatment itself has the appearance and texture of a light moisturser, which while pleasant to apply did feel a bit odd on my lips to begin with.

It possesses a very soft and delicate hint of peppermint which confused me initially because while id pop a lip balm on that was peppermint scented, I’d be slightly more cautious putting something that smelt minty on my skin.

Anyway, once I had got used to the texture and scent I really enjoyed using the product.

It certainly did a great job of instantly hydrating my lips and the skin around my mouth, leaving it feeling soft and nourished.

In terms of reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, the jury’s out. I’m 32 and I don’t smoke, so I’ve yet to really notice the signs of ageing around my mouth yet, but I imagine if this was something that did concern you then using this treatment could make a difference.

It’s well known that you should use a separate eye cream to your regular moisturiser on the skin around your eyes, so why wouldn’t you treat the skin around your mouth in a similar manner if its appearance concerns you?

I think it’s a great, unique and original product by a trusted brand that is well worth a try. If nothing else it leaves your lips wonderfully soft and kissable!

Dermalogica’s Nightly Lip Treatment is available now and costs £47.50 for 10ml.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream

We all know that Charlotte Tilbury makes the most exquisite make up (if you didn’t know that, where have you been?!) but did you know that she also has a fabulous line of Skincare products too?

When browsing her counters in John Lewis or pouring lover her website I can’t help but get side tracked by all the pretty rose gold housed lipsticks and palettes, foundations and bronzers and by the time I’ve added all these lovelies to my shopping basket and checked out, I’m way too broke to consider skincare.

Let me tell you now that if this sounds like you as well, well, we’ve been missing out on actual gem of a product. And yes it is skincare.

I’m talking about the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream.

Packaged absolutely exquisitely (would you expect anything else) Charlotte’s Magic Cream is an Instant Turnaround Moisturiser with SPF 15.

Housed within a chic, clear octagon shaped jar and adorned with the iconic rose gold lid this daily moisturiser is both magic by name and magic by nature.

This cult cream is based on Charlotte’s hand-made ‘backstage’ formula which was originally created to prep models’ complexions prior to their catwalk shows.

Offering and instant hit of hydration this wonder cream instantly transforms your complexion thanks to its impressive skin loving list of ingredients and hey, if its good enough for a top model its good enough for me!

This rich, multi-tasking product contains a hit of Hylauronic acid, sodium hyaluronate and wild pansy extract which helps to attract and seal-in moisture so that your skin not only feels instantly hydrated but feels wonderfully soft and moisturised all day long.

A unique, multi-tasking, anti-ageing BioNymph Peptide Complex helps to turn back the clock and battles against fine lines and wrinkles to encourage beautiful skin from within, all while fighting free radicals.

Extracts of rosehip and camellia oils along with vitamin E help to transform dull complexions while extracts of frangipani, aloe vera, damask rose and vitamin A work to combat inflammation, soothe redness and leave your skin looking luminous.

I’m sure you’ll agree that the cream boasts an impressive list of skin loving ingredients, but does it actually work?

I’m going to have to say yes.

Despite the fact that the cream is rich and thick in texture, it actually worked really well with my oily/combination skin.

Rich doesn’t have to mean ‘heavy’ and this cream is anything but.

Lightweight and quickly absorbed, your skin really does instantly feel plumper and hydrated without any hint of residual greasiness.

The cream possesses a really delicate, botanical scent which is really pleasant to apply and my skin was left feeling lovely and soft and hydrated throughout the day.

Because of the nature of my skin I don’t tend to use night creams as I find many too heavy but actually with this cream I don’t feel that my skin needs that extra TLC at night.

It is so well looked after and pampered with the Magic Cream that simply a slightly more generous application at night time is all I need to ensure that my skin is nourished overnight.

It says on the gorgeous packaging for the Magic Cream ‘The Magic Dew of Youth and Luminosity In a Jar’ and I’d say that’s a pretty great description of this product!

Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream is a wonderful product that will help your skin to glow with radiance and luminosity and absolutely deserves your attention, so when you’re finding yourself captivated by the gorgeous new lipsticks, head over the skincare section and check this gem out.

You will be forever grateful that you did.

After all, how can you expect your painting to look incredible if you don’t look after the canvas!

Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream is available now and costs £70.
