L'Occitane Delightful Rose Shea Hugs and Kisses Gift Set

I don’t particularly buy into the whole ‘Valentine’s Day’, because frankly I think that you should show your love for someone every day of the year, not just on Feb 14th.

That said I’m also not a total scrooge when it comes to the day and like most people, am always happy to receive a small token of love from my Mr.

Chocolate is lovely and flowers are great but sometimes it’s nice to receive something a little different so this V-Day why not point your other half in the direction of L’Occitane.

This year they have created two beautifully presented little gift sets featuring two of their best selling products. Two products that as it goes, you’ll never find me leaving the house without; lip balm and hand cream.

Available in either Delightful Rose Shea Hugs and Kisses (pictured) or Shea Butter Hugs and Kisses for £16 you’ll find their award winning Shea Butter hand cream and Natural Shea ultra rich lip balm.

These lovelies are the perfect size to pop in your hand bag and will ensure that your hands stay soft to hold and lips are kissably smooth not just on Valentines day but all year long.

L’Occitane’s Shea Butter and Delightful Rose Shea Hugs and Kisses sets are available now and cost £16 each.

Monsoon Rose Gold

I know that you should never judge a book by its cover and likewise you should never judge a fragrance by its packaging or bottle, but when I saw that Monsoon had launched a scent called Rose Gold, I knew I had to try it.

I LOVE all things Rose Gold and was intrigued to try a perfume by the same name.

Instantly I fell in love with the chic and sophisticated packaging; a modern looking white box with rose gold details housing the cute tear drop shaped bottle with a rose tinted cap and lid.

Even the fragrance itself is rose gold in colour. So far, so good!

The scent itself is actually more mature than I imagined it might be.

It features top notes of sparkling lemon, soft fruit and ozonic which initially offer quite a clean, fresh scent before heart notes of rose, tuberose neroli and cyclamen draw the fragrance into a deeper, more floral and grown-up place.

Base notes of Eastern woods, vanilla, mosses, musk and balsamic amber bring the fragrance together to form a well rounded, soft, musky and powdery scent.

For me, the words that best describe how it smells are feminine, sophisticated and grown up.

I always tend to view Rose Gold as being a younger sort of metal, in that it appeals to a younger market and for that reason this fragrance took me by surprise.

That’s not to say it isn’t nice because it is, so if you’re looking for a musky, sophisticated scent then it’s definitely worth a try and at just £35 for 100ml it’s a decent price too.

You can buy Monsoon Rose Gold online and in store now.

bareMinerals Blemish Ready Foundation

Having skin that is prone to oiliness and breakouts means finding the right foundation can be a bit of a pain.

There are some truly gorgeous foundations out there but many of them prove to be too heavy or thick for my complexion, leaving my skin feeling clogged, shiny and generally not great.

Lucky for me then that bareMinerals have created their Blemish Ready Foundation, a gentle yet effective, non-drying, mineral-powered foundation that conceals imperfections and helps reduce the appearance of blemishes for clearer-looking skin.

This lightweight, buildable foundation offers medium to full coverage, helping to reduce the appearance of imperfections and pores while Aspen Bark and Tea Tree Oil helps to promote healthier, clearer looking skin.

Aloe helps to soothe and hydrate while the formula simultaneously controls oil and shine.

I love these skincare-makeup hybrid products as they make me feel like I’m looking after my skin while trying to make the best of what I have too.

I’ll be honest, it took me a little while to get used to using a powder foundation as I’ve always used liquid in the past but once I’d got the hang of it there was no looking back.

The powder itself is super lightweight and soft to touch. To apply, swirl a brush in a small amount of the powder foundation until it disappears into the brush, buff the excess off and buff onto your skin in a circular motion.

The powder disappears onto your skin and instantly creates a soft, matte effect. You can apply as much as you need to achieve the desired effect and it blends seamlessly leaving your skin looking flawless and beautiful.

Normally, I’d find myself needing to re-powder my t-zone within about 30 minutes of applying foundation but with this bad boy I reckon it lasted more like 2 hours, which for me is impressive!

I really loved the way it felt like I wasn’t actually wearing foundation too as it was so light and with 10 shades to choose from there’s no issue when it comes to matching one to your skin tone.

Thank you bareMinerals for creating such a great foundation!

The bareMinerals Blemish Ready Foundation costs £26 and is available now.
