Lipcote Turns 50!

There aren’t many women out there who haven’t heard of, come across or used Lipcote and this year the Brit Beauty Classic is celebrating 50 years of keeping our lipstick in place!

The award winning bottle celebrates its birthday with a fab new logo and packaging, designed in collaboration with top illustrator Dora whose work is inspired by 1950s burlesque, Japanese print and femininity.

I loved looking at how the Logo and packaging has changed over the decades, check out how it used to look in the 50s!

For those of you that aren’t familiar with Lipcote (where have you been) Lipcote is a laquer- esq liquid which when brushed over lipstick, created a satin matte finish which seals your lipstick, making it last for hours with no fading or feathering.

Lipcote's latest Logo & Packaging
To celebrate Lipcote’s birthday I had a fantastic time last night creating my own lipstick shades and sealing them with Lipcote, whilst eating this most GORGEOUS Lipcote, jammy biscuit designed by Gosh Pattisserie.

The best way to use Lipcote is to apply your lipstick, blot with a tissue then apply a thin layer of Lipcote over the top and allow to dry.

Used and loved by beauty professionals  and celebrities alike such as Jemma Kidd ,The Powderpuff Girls, Rihanna and Rosie Huntington-Whitely, its easy to see why this products has had such staying power.

(can you see what I did there?)

Do you like the shades i created with my Lipcote palette?

Lipcote (£3.49)is available at Boots, Superdrug and selected independent stores nationwide.

So what are your thoughts, have you tried Lipcote?

  2. I don't really like Lipcote :( I find it quite drying... I guess I could just put some lipbalm on over the top, but I'm not sure it's worth it. I usually just put concealer or a lip primer on my lips first then use my finger to apply my lipstick in a kind of pressing rather than smearing way. I sometimes dust some face powder over the top sometimes then might apply a second coat of the colour like I did with the first, if I really need my colour to last all day.
