TULA launches at SpaceNK

 

TULA has officially landed in the UK and has found itself a happy little home at cult beauty store SpaceNK.

TULA, meaning ‘balance’ in Sanskrit is a clinically effective skincare range powered by probiotic extracts and superfoods that aims to restore natural skin balance through powerhouse science-backed formulas.

The brand was founded by board certified Dr Roshini Raj, a practicing gastroenterologist who has been studying probiotics for 20 years. 

 In TULA, she has created a breakthrough innovation in skincare that sits at the intersection of beauty and wellness and she believes that the same ingredients that are good for your body are also good for your skin as probiotic extracts are powerful ingredients that help soothe, hydrate and nourish skin to improve its balance and calm the look of irritation.

Now I for one really appreciate such transparency and honesty.

Before I begin, can I draw attention to the gorgeously uncomplicated but wonderfully aesthetically pleasing packaging design.

Sleek and created for precise dispensing and hygiene, the products are wrapped in a beautiful, calming soft blue hue with sweet violet and clean white tones.

Instantly recognisable, these colours run throughout the entirety of the collection, which does make distinguishing products from different skincare concern families difficult to differentiate from others, but I actually really like the continuity of the packaging.

 

 

It reinforces the ethos and reassures you that each and every product adheres to the same core values of the brand.

Now, onto a few of their products.

Up first is TULA’s So polished exfoliating sugar scrub (£30).

Named the Best Facial Scrub by Allure 2020 Best of Beauty Awards, this beautiful sugar scrub combines both physical and chemical exfoliators to gently buff and polish your skin to reveal a brighter, softer complexion.

Suitable for all skin types including sensitive, it works to effortlessly melt away excess oil, build-up and debris without stripping your skin or causing irritation.

I think it’s also worth mentioning that despite suffering with sensitive skin, I actually found that the physical sugar exfoliants didn’t irritate, scratch or scrape my skin, unlike some other exfoliants.

Next is TULA’s Beauty sleep overnight repair treatment (£59).

I have to say from the off, I’ve found myself totally obsessed by this night cream for various reasons, but its soft subtle scent and luxurious yet deceptively lightweight texture are just two examples of why I’ve fallen in love with it.

 

 

 I’m not at all surprised to discover I am not alone in my praise for this moisturiser as it received the Zoe Report’s 2021 editor approved award for Best Night Cream and I’m quietly confident that once you’ve tried it, you’re gonna love it too.

This potent, anti-ageing overnight treatment has been created to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, minimising the signs of premature ageing and leaving your skin looking and feeling plumper, younger and more radiant than ever before.

Now I say ‘anti-ageing’, but I must point out that TULA state that ‘there’s nothing ‘anti’ about ageing’, its simply a great option if one of your skincare goals is that of a more youthful appearance.

 God I like these guys!

The luxurious yet elegant cream boasts a host of active ingredients to support and enrich your skin while improving its tone and texture.

 

 

AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids) give your skin a boost by improving its firmness and smoothness while a botanical extract called Indian Gentian helps to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Brightening Vitamin C helps to even skin tone and inject life back into a dull, lacklustre complexion and a blend of watermelon and fruit extracts provide an instant boost of hydration.

Now I’ll admit, I was somewhat confused when I first used this product on account of its name and directions for use.

I applied a thin layer of the lightweight gel mask to my face before gently massing in. This massage movement causes the encapsulates to release their mineral optics, creating a subtle illumination which mingles with the rest of the mask before being absorbed by your skin.

 Now if like me you have oily/combination skin you’re going to want to skip your regular moisturser because this mask offers superior hydration which leaves your skin feeling silky soft and comfortable, but if you’re more on the drier side then by all means crack on with your moisturiser too.

 

 

This mask provides a fabulous multi-sensorial experience thanks to its refreshing, soft fruity notes and silky soft texture.

The addition of micro illuminators is brilliant too as it creates an instant yet super subtle lift to dull complexions while its other hard-working ingredients get to work perfecting and brightening with every application.

It’s a massive thumbs up from me for this mask. I’ve even noticed that areas of hyperpigmentation and acne scars appear to have reduced in their appearance which quite frankly, I’m thrilled by.
