The Body Shop and her creator Dame Anita Roddick (a
mother herself) believe that Mums should be treated like Queens and to
celebrate that this year they have created an entire limited edition collection
to honour all the hard working mother’s out there.
Say hello to
the absolutely gorgeous Cactus Blossom collection.
It’s
actually nothing like I had expected it to be. I pictured lots of pinks,
florals, you know- the usual mother’s day stuff, but The Body Shop have gone in
a slightly different direction with this range and I love it.
Don’t get me
wrong, flowers are beautiful and chocolates are delicious and I can only speak
for myself, but on Mother’s Day, what I’d really like is to indulge in a little
pampering session, like those days pre kids when you’d bathe for hours and
slather yourself in lovely smelling lotions and potions!
The choice
of Cactus as the heart if the range is not an accident- The Body Shop believe
that nothing symbolises a mothers unconditional love like the cactus flower
thanks to its spikey, strong, resilient and beautiful nature.
And so, this
exotic collection features a scent which is actually quite difficult to
describe! Fresh, zingy and floral-fruity, it has been enriched with cactus
flower extract from Morocco and Community Trade ingredients from across the
globe.
It’s a
pretty comprehensive collection so you really can feel pampered from top to
toe!
First up is
the Softening Body Butter (£15).
Packaged in
eye catching, vibrant lime green with a stunning cactus leaf floral design lid that matches the entire range, the body
butter is everything you would come to expect from The Body Shop.
Thick, rich yet
quickly absorbed it has been enriched with cactus flower extract from Morocco
and Community Trade shea butter from Ghana to help nourish even the driest skin.
While on the
topic of moisturisers lets take a look at the cute little Body Yoghurt (£8.50).
Still in
need of a little nourishment but don’t have the time to wait for it to be
absorbed, fear not!
This Cactus
Blossom Body Yogurt’s lightweight formula absorbs instantly and provides up to
48 hours of moisture. Enriched with cactus flower extract from Morocco and
Community Trade organic almond milk from Spain it is wonderfully lightweight
and great for those of us on the go!
As a mum who
ever has time to treat themselves to a decent exfoliation? Yeah me neither.
Well, this
Mothers Day make some time for you by revealing new, healthy, smoother skin
that feels as soft as your own kids with the Cactus Blossom Body Scrub (£15).
Containing a
blend of cactus flower extract, Ethiopian Community Trade honey and gentle exfoliating
raspberry seeds this zingy and delicious scrub is gentle enough for use on even
sensitive, delicate skin.
Last but by
no means least is the Cactus Blossom Shower Gel (£5) which literally explodes (ok
not literally but figuratively) when you unleash its fragrant, bubbly and
fresh notes into your bathroom!
Containing Community
Trade honey from Ethiopia, this special edition will brighten up your showering
experience while gently cleansing your skin and lathering up to leave you
covered in a plethora of super soft bubbles.
Uplifting,
bright and beautiful, why not consider forgetting the flowers this year and
give your mum something that as a mummy myself I can attest to, some ‘me time’
with this fabulous new range.
The Body Shop Cactus Blossom is available online and in stores now.
