Spring is just around the corner and the master minds at GHD have given
their amazing straighteners a gorgeous spring makeover!
Inspired by the old retro sweetshop favourites and with shades straight
off the catwalk the three new coloured GHD IV’s in Violet, Lemon and Mint are
just gorgeous!
I know I’ve said it before but Candy colours are big news this spring,
so there’s no better way than to update your spring look with the help of a
gorgeous styling tool that matches!
One of my favourite spring looks which I like to create with my Candy GHD’s
are simple yet gorgeous loose waves which can be left loose or styled into a
messy, side pony for an effortlessly cute look.
This look is being modelled beautifully by Lindsey Elliott.
To create this look, take 1 inch sections of your hair at a time.
Because we are creating a loose and natural curl, do not curl all the
way from the root of your hair, start half way down the length instead.
Take your GHD’s and place them ½ way down the length of hair. Clamp down
and turn upwards, allowing the remaining hair to flip over the top of the
styler, and gently pull the straighteners through the length of hair all the way
to the end.
Unclamp and you will be left with a gorgeous curl.
Now move onto another section and repeat until all of your hair is
bouncy and curly.
Leave for a few minutes to allow
the hair to cool before brushing it- this will help the hair to hold the curl
better than if you brush it out when your hair is still warm.
Gently brush the curls so they lose their tightness and settle into
stunning, loose waves.
Et voila!
You can leave the hair as it is or alternatively grab a small band, pull
your hair to one side and tie it in a pony.
It doesn’t need to be neat and tidy, in fact it looks better if it’s a
little loose and messy.
Now, complete your spring time candy look really easily with a bit of
clever make up!
Don’t cake your face in make up, use a light foundation such as Clarins Skin Illusion Loose Powder Foundation (£28).
Add shape to your face with a little contouring with the help of Kevin Aucoin scultping powder (£34) and keep with the fresh, pretty theme by giving your cheeks a dab of pink
blush with Benefit’s Dandelion (£23.50).
Give your face a healthy, vibrant look by dabbing a tiny amount of
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm (£29) along the top of your cheekbones.
Eyes look great with a sweep of pink shadow from Kiko’s Colour Party palette in Peach Lake (16 EURO 90) and a
dab of MAC’s Amethyst (£16.50), but keep it light and don’t go over the top!
Finish the eyes with a slick of mascara. I used New Look’s Kelly Brook Mascara(£3.99) as it is light, easy to apply and non clumpy.
Complete the look with a slick of nude gloss such as Clarins Gloss Prodige in Nude (£17).
