What did Marilyn Monroe wear in bed?
‘Why, Chanel No. 5, of course'
Or was it?
These are the words famously spoken by Marilyn
Monroe when asked about her night wear.
New information has come to light however,
suggesting that Marilyn had another fragrance which she loved too.
Prompted by the forthcoming 50th anniversary
of her death in August 1962 and the opening of the Marilyn exhibition at the
Salvatore Ferragamo Museum in Florence, British
perfume house Floris has dipped into its archives and made an amazing discovery.
It seems that on the 14th December 1959,
a Marilyn Monroe Miller ordered 6 bottles of Floris Rose Geranium under the false name Miss Dorothy Blass (who was actually Marilyn’s personal secretary)
The perfumes were sent from the Floris shop in
Jermyn Street London to the Beverly Hills Hotel in California where she was
staying after filming Some Like It Hot.

My favourite Marilyn film by the way!
I love these little details about her life that
eventually come to light. In a way, I feel as if it allows you a little peek into aspects
of her life you would never have otherwise known.
Sadly you are no longer able to purchase the Rose Geranium scent in an eau de toilette form, however it is still available as a bath essence and soap.
I need to get my hands on one of these to see just what it was about the scent that Marilyn loved!

Oooh intriguing! I'd love to smell this, might be worth finding the bath essence <3
