I’ve got to be honest, it’s not often that i feel inspired
enough to try and recreate a beauty/
make up look that I’ve seen elsewhere, namely due to my total lack of patience
but also due to my lack of artistic skills.
That said, i was captivated by Katy Perry’s floral nail’s in
her latest music video.
Practical they are not but stunning they are, so i decided
to have a go at creating my own Katy P inspired nails.
Firstly i applied two coat’s of MeMeMe’s Catwalk Collection Long Lasting Gloss in sensuous to recreate the flesh coloured nails seen on
Katy.
I then carefully applied coloured tips to each nail in a
variety of different colours.
I tried to follow Katy’s as closely as possible and opted
for Bourjois 1 seconde Nail Gel in Lavandeesquisse, Avon Nail Wear Pro+ Enamel in Lemon Sugar and Jade and Rimmel 60 second polish in 405 Rose Libertine.
Once they were dry the fun began!
I bought some pretty acrylic floral nail decorations and
glitter rhinestones from ebay for about £2 per set and set about creating my
masterpiece!
I Applied a dab of the MeMeMe polish to the base of the
flowers and rhinestones and allowed it to become tacky before placing them into
each finger.
I made each finger different and I was really chuffed with
the results!
They look so pretty and for me, evoked images of fairies
and garden pixies!
As mentioned earlier, they are not really that practical-
the flowers are only lightly stuck on and any small knock will see them falling
off.
You could always substitute the dollop of nail polish on the
base for a little glue to ensure they last longer though.
All in all I was pretty pleased with my attempt.
If I was to do this again I would probably use long, rounded
stick on nails to get the look even more accurate.
So, what do you think of my attempt?
Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are so cute, I'd have them picked off in minutes but I'm an impatient mare.
Well done! x
Love! These look really gorgeous and easier than they look. I even like the look without the flowers with the different coloured tips x
ReplyDeleteSo cute, I think you recreated the look really well :) x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Very creative :)

OMG they look amazing. I love them xx
ReplyDeleteOh wow, these are gorgeous. I actually prefer yours to Katy Perry's as they are a bit more toned down and more wearable. I doubt I could pull this off myself as I'm not good with fiddly things like that but I think it would be a great look for a special occasion like a wedding or something.
ReplyDeleteSo cute love them and loving Bourjois Lavender nail varnish gonaa get me some of that x

So cute. I prefer yours to Katy Perry's ones, hers look too fake from the stick on nails in my opinion, I like that yours use natural nails. xx
