Looking after and
protecting your skin this summer has never been easier thanks to Temple Spa.
Say hello to their
fabulous new Life Defence SPF 30 Protecting Moisturiser (£38).
This wonderfully
lightweight daily moisturiser contains a broad spectrum SPF 30 and blue light
protection to help protect against a huge host of aggressors including the
environment, sun, wind, pollution, air-conditioning, heating and even digital
screens.
Containing a potent
antioxidant complex of rocket, ginseng root, vitamin E and hyaluronic acid
these ingredients create an invisible barrier against the sun and skin damaging
free radicals ensuring your skin is safeguarded and feeling soft, healthy and
radiant all day every day.
Suitable for even
sensitive skin like mine, this gentle yet hard working moisturiser has been
designed to be applied to freshly cleansed skin or over your regular daily moisture
and can be reapplied throughout the day (providing
you’re not wearing make up!) during long periods of exposure to the elements
or every 2 hours if exposed the sun.
While marketed as a moisturiser
I’d be inclined to describe its texture as closer to a skin milk thanks to its
feather-light texture. Silky, soft, light and immediately absorbed it possesses
a summer suncream scent which makes you think of warm summer days at the beach.
Unlike suncream
however, there is no hint of greasiness or any residual ‘whiteness’ after
application.
It simply sinks into your skin leaving it feeling soft, pampered
and nourished. I've actually ditched my traditional sun cream in favour for this moisturiser when it comes to protecting the skin on my face from the sun as unlike my sun cream it doesnt cause blocked pores and then subsequantly, pimples!
In fact, once applied you
could pretty much forget that its there, working hard to protect your skin (apart from the occasional waft of its
summery suncream aroma) but make no mistake that the blend of ingredients
within this moisturiser are working super hard!
Vitamin E helps to
soften skin and replenish dehydrated skin, protect cells from UV damage and
environmental pollutants that cause signs of ageing such as fine lines and
wrinkles. In fact, it helps treat wrinkles by supporting the growth of new
healthy skin cells and speeding up cell regeneration.
It also boosts
collagen production to keep skin elastic which also helps reduce the appearance
of wrinkles as well as helping to keep your skin firm and taut.
Sodium hylaluronate helps
to attract and retain moisture while Glyceryl Stearate forms a barrier on the
skins surface slowing down the loss of water and helping to give skin a softer
and smoother surface.
Rocket Extract which
is rich in isothiocyanates (anti-oxidant
free radical scavengers that help to counter and neutralise the effects of skin
damaging free radicals) helps to soothe, reduce redness and possesses both antioxidant
and anti-inflammatory qualities while Organic Ginseng Root Extract is
clinically proven to protect against digital pollution.
I didn’t even realise
I could be damaging my skin by being on
my phone or working on my laptop but apparently so as your skin is exposed to
blue, red and green light, whose rays can cause additional environmental stress
to the mitochondria cells in our skin which play a role in maintaining healthy
skin cells.
Scary stuff!
Thankfully, due to
Life Defence I need not worry quite so much as I know that my skin is being
well looked after and while it’s a great product to use during sunny summer
months it is equally as useful and important all year round.
Temple Spa’s new Life Defence SPF 30 Protecting Moisturiser is available now and costs £38.
