REN Ready Stead Glow Daily AHA Tonic

The sunny bottle of sunshine is the new Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic from REN.

A gentle yet effective skin resurfacing toner, it has been created to help exfoliate and brighten you complexion leaving you with skin that glows.

Suitable for daily use this tonic helps to support your skin to reach its optimum PH levels to trigger its natural exfoliation process, resulting in cell renewal and resurfacing of dull, dead skin cells.
How it works is very clever really.

The tonic gently stimulates your skin to naturally exfoliate while Lactic Acid dissolves the bonds holding dull, dead skin cells on the surface. This promotes cell renewal and results in plumper, firmer more tones skin.

Willow Bark Extract and Salicin help to minimise visible pores and refines your skins texture by exfoliating inside the pore itself to reduce sebum secretion which can in turn help reduce breakouts and imperfections.

Meanwhile, Azelaic Acid Precursor, Wheat, Rye and Barley work to brighten your complexion by improving both your skins hydration levels and elasticity, resulting in a complexion that is so healthy it glows.

Sounds impressive doesn’t it, but how does it fare?

I was a bit nervous about switching from my regular toner to this as my current toner is SO good and contains glycolic acid which really I personally feel really helps control and brighten my skin.

However, I’m open to trying new products and other acids so I gave it a go.

Firstly can I say that I love the bottle design and the way in which the product is dispensed.

It is both mess- free and helps prevent product wastage with its special pump dispenser. To use, simply press down firmly on the pump with a cotton wool pad until it is saturated.

Immediately you’ll be met with the refreshing and sweet aroma of ripe oranges which is a gorgeous scent for a toner!

Refreshing and zesty it is treat for your senses before you’ve even treated your face!

Swipe the cotton pad onto your clean face and neck avoiding the eye area and allow to dry before continuing with your skincare regime.

I have super sensitive skin and I can confirm that this tonic caused absolutely no reaction to my skin whatsoever. It is extremely gentle, non-drying and doesn’t leave your face feeling sore, tight or screaming out for moisture.

Designed to be used twice daily, it is a really lovely product works equally as well as my current beloved toner.

My skin feels clean, looks refreshed and dewey and since switching toners I have still managed to avoid any breakouts, so it’s definitely doing its job well!

If you don’t get on with glycolic acid or fancy giving another gentle acid a try then I highly recommend giving this tonic a try.

REN’s Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic is available now and costs £25 for 250ml.

Cloud Nine Magical Quick Dry Potion

Ever since discovering and falling in love with my UH-MAZING Cloud Nine straighteners (check out my review HERE) I have been religiously using their Magical Potion.

This Magical Quick Dry Potion (to give it its full name) is described as a miracle must-have hair hero thanks to its ability to reduce drying time by up to 50% as well as providing heat production, a leave-in condition AND a UV Filter.

I know right, is there anything this bad boy doesn’t do?!

Housed in a sleek, chic and simple bottle this two tone spray separates when left sat stationary but when shaken, mixes perfectly to create a nourishing and protective spray that actually saves you time when it comes to drying your hair.

Now, I’ve got a LOT of hair. I recently had 6 inches cut off and to be honest, it looked like I’d just had a trim- my hair is that long and as you can imagine, drying it is a massive ball ache.

It usually takes forever so when I discovered that this potion claimed to reduce drying time I was VERY excited.

When shaken and mixed the spray is ready to use.

Sprayed liberally over towel dried hair it possesses a delicate, fresh scent. It isn’t at all over-powering which I really like as I enjoy the scent of my shampoo to be the lasting fragrance on my hair as opposed to my styling products.

You can immediately feel that your hair has been drenched in a mist of nourishment as I suspect there is an oil component to the spray given the way it separates in the bottle.

Now, when it comes to blow drying my hair when I’ve used the potion I can confirm that to my delight it does actually help to reduce drying time.

Seriously! I’m not sure it’s by as much as half, but it certainly happened a lot quicker than it otherwise would so that element gets a massive thumbs up!

In terms of its ability to act as a heat protector and shield hair from damage, my hair has certainly not shown any signs of damage from being blow dried or from using my Cloud Nine’s.

In fact, once dried and I’ve run my Cloud Nine's through my hair, my locks are left looking super shiny and feeling sleek, soft and nourished.

I do feel a bit like it hasn’t been fully activated until I use my straighteners but once I have- wow.

Even on hair as long and thick as mine, you can tell that your hair has been treated to some extra nourishment in the form of the leave in conditioner and the static I’d usually find at the ends of my hair has all but gone. Like magic.

Cloud Nine’s Magical Quick Dry Potion is a brilliant multi-tasking hair product that will help to protect, nourish and beautify your locks.

You can grab your now from the Cloud Nine Website where it costs £20.

Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm

I really don’t care what you say, I maintain that you can never own too many decent lip balms. There is simply no such thing as 'too many'.

Lip balm is one of those products that you will ALWAYS need and unlike many other skincare products, you will ALWAYS use.

It’s for those reasons that when I realised that luxury Hungarian skincare brand Omorovicza had their own lip balm, I knew I had to try it.

Now I’m going to be honest from the start and say that this is one of the most expensive lip balms that I own. Priced at £32 for 10ml this Perfecting Lip Balm it is pretty expensive, BUT it is a hell of a lip balm. In fact it is now an award winner having been awarded ‘Best Lip Balm’ at the Beauty Shortlist Awards 2018.

‘But what’s so good about it?’ I hear you ask. Well I’ll tell you.

Contained within a compact, chic glass jar with white lid adorned with the Omorovicza logo this pretty, pale pink balm plumps your lips, smooths and nourishes imperfections and provides long lasting hydrating all day long.

Enriched with Shea Butter and Eucalyptus Oil this balm creates a gentle, tingling sensation upon application and leaves your lips feeling full and soft.

It also contains hyaluronic filling spheres to offer deep hydration to your lips, leaving them feeling softer and smoother than ever before.

Palmitoyl Oligopeptide helps to subtly increase lip volume over prolonged use and Omega 6 Ceramide helps to replenish dehydrated skin and restores softness and elasticity.

Those are some pretty fab sounding ingredients I’m sure you’ll agree.

The balm itself is soft, rich and thick in texture. It possesses a pleasant, delicate hint of eucalyptus and when applied to your lips, literally glides on and into place.

You can feel its thickness and richness but it doesn’t feel heavy, gloopy or sticky on your lips.

It creates this really nice cooling sensation when first applied, along with a barely detectably tingling.

Don’t worry, it isn’t like a lip plumper which can make your lips feel like they’re on fire, it is very, very subtle.

My lips were left feeling instantly hydrated and nourished and in turn, looked and felt fuller.

I love the subtle sheen that the balm offers and often choose to wear this alone in lieu of any other lip product.

That said, it can also be used as a fabulous overnight intensive lip treatment when your lips are in need of some serious TLC or as a great plumping and priming treatment prior to your lipstick or lipgloss application.

It stays on your lips far longer than many other balms I’ve used so you don’t need to constantly re-apply and in turn this means that the balm lasts longer.

I adore this brand so it came as no surprise to me that I loved this lip balm. It is expensive but it works. It works really, really well and I’d rather spend £32 on a product that is going to do a brilliant job than £5 on a product that I’m going to bin within a few days because its either been used up already or just simply doesn’t work.

Omorovicza’s Award Winning Perfecting Lip Balm is available now and costs £32.
