Nicki Minaj Onika

Onika is the latest fragrance release from Nicki Minaj.

Available nationwide from September 17th, Onika is without a doubt the most ‘grown up’ of her fragrance collection, even down to the somewhat more understated barbz.

This fragrance evokes seduction with its beautiful combination of sensuous fruits, tantalizing florals and sheer musks.

Top Notes: Pear, starfruit and mandarin
Heart Notes: Water lily, orchid and osmanthus
Base Notes: Sugar cane, white musk and cedarwood

The fragrance and its packaging is designed to reflect Nicki’s evolution  from the pink/green/blue haired, somewhat wacky popstar  that she once was, to a more understated, confident, unguarded and grown up star that she has become.

I still absolutely love the bottle, it’s just a beautiful thing to look at and so different, and I love the fragrance too.

It retains its sweet, youthful appeal but has a more adult and sensual edge thanks to its musky undertone.

I’ll be honest, I don’t quite ‘get’ why the fragrance was called Onika, that is until i Googled it and it turns out Onika is Nicki's real name!

I love that she's chosen to name her fragrance after her actual name!

Nicki Minaj Onika EDP is available from Boots now and nationwide from September 17th and 100ml costs £40.

Nicki Minaj Pink Friday: Review

Minaj fans, it’s finally here!

Meet Pink Friday, Nicki’s debut fragrance.

Described as an Intoxicating Floral Musk, it is nothing like I thought it would smell.

It is far sweeter than I imagined, on a par almost with Britney Spears Fantasy I’d say.

Yes, perhaps the saccharine-pink packaging should have been a bit of a giveaway, along with the unique, bizarre but undoubtedly stunning bottle, but it still surprised me.

Notes of starfruit, mandarin, vanilla and caramelized pear bask in the warmth of musks and woods to create a sweet, but not instantly recognizable fragrance.

It is a bit ‘samey’- cute and pleasant, but for me, not AMAZING.

In my opinion, the best thing about this fragrance is the bottle, and the price, which I thought was really reasonable.

It is so unique and so Nicki and I really do love my barbz (what Nicki has affectionally called her Barbie-esq bottle)

Complete with her trademark pink hair and lips, the deluxe size bottle even features an original NICKI MINAJ nameplate necklace.

Nicki Minaj Pink Friday is available now and costs a very reasonable £39 for 100ml, £29 for 50ml and £24 for 30ml.

Nicki Minaj Pink Friday

The wait is almost over!

Nicki Minaj’s debut fragrance Pink Friday launches exclusively at Selfridges on March 15th before being available nationwide from April 1st.

Nicki says;

Pink Friday is a celebration of my life at this moment; it is a reflection of me as a creator, and an expression of me as a woman. I know my Barbz will connect with and appreciate each aspect – from the name, to the outrageous bottle design, to the vibrant colors that create their own song.

Pink Friday shows off my personality and style; it’s exciting to express my voice through another dimension. I was involved in every aspect of the decision-making process – it seems easy because I always get this feeling inside: I know if something is right or wrong. Each detail needs to ‘wow’ me or it is not an option; that’s my way of composing perfection.
