Too Faced Air Buffed BB Crème

I’ve tried many a BB cream, but all of those have been just that. A cream. A liquidy, fluidy cream.

Not this BB Cream, or should I say, crème .

Too Faced’s Air Buffed BB Crème (£32) is a full coverage, compact BB cream, beautifully presented in a little jar, complete with its own little snap- in- place buffing brush!

Available in 5 shades, it’s clear to see that the shade I got (Cream Glow) is far too dark for my pale skin (doh!) so be careful when ordering to make sure you get the right one!

Too Faced Air Buffed BB Crème is a complete coverage balm that is designed to correct uneven skin tone and banishes imperfections with its 5 in 1 benefits.

The cream to powder formula instantly concealed and brightened my complexion and the cute little brush allowed me to build the coverage where I needed it most (think blemishes and eye bags!)

Rose Fruit Extract helps to mattify the skin and refines pores, extracts of Star Fruit Leaf moisturise the skin and SPF 20 sunscreen shields the skin from un-necessary UV damage.

Aside from its physical form, this BB cream differs massively from the majority of others due to its super thick coverage, which I actually rather love.

I always viewed a BB cream as a light alternative to thick and heavy make- up, so to find one that is just the opposite threw me a bit!

That said, as with all BB creams, I love the duality of their skincare and makeup properties, and we all have those days where we need a little extra coverage and help with our skin, so why not have a BB cream that can do that.

Swatched

I know I’m harping on about how thick the cream is and how it offers full coverage, but actually you can adjust how much you need to use and what level of coverage you want to use easily with the snap in place Air Buff Brush.

Lightly Buffed

It is deliciously soft and leaves the balm evenly distributed on your skin for a flawless finish.

Fully Blended

At £32 this is an expensive buy, but think about how much use you can get from this. You can apply just a little for the days when you want just a tiny amount of coverage, or build it up for days when you need a little extra help, all while enjoying the properties associated with a regular Blemish Balm and you get a gorgeous little brush too!

Too Faced’s Air Buffed BB Crème (£32)is available now exclusively from Beauty Bay.

The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream

Ladies and gents, meet the latest BB Cream offering on the market from The Body Shop

The Body Shop’s All-In-One BB Cream possesses a lightweight formula that provides 24 hour hydration and colour adapts to your skin for a perfect match and smooth finish.

The innovative formula features pigment filled capsules that burst when applied to the skin, releasing the colour inside.

Despite knowing about the ‘innovative formula’ I still found myself surprised when I squeezed some of the product out on my hand and saw that it was white in colour.

‘what the frick!’ I thought

‘I know I’m pale, but c’mon!’

It wasn’t until I began to rub the cream into my hand that I saw the transformation.

With each stroke of my fingers the cream gradually changed colour.

From a speckled white it turned into a pale flesh colour before finishing up as a gorgeously light, skin tones shade!

Non greasy yet moisturising, the cream felt light on my skin and offered a medium range of coverage.

Available from August the cream comes in 3 shades and retails at £12.

Garnier B.B. Miracle Skin Perfector Cream For Combination To Oily Skin

Last summer i brought you a review of Garnier’s BB cream.

I was hugely disappointed with the product as I found it too heavy and  greasy for my combination to oily skin.

Fast forward a year and Garnier have finally answered my prayers by bring out a BB cream for Combination/Oily skin.

Unlike their original product, this ultra-absorbent cream helps fights excess sebum throughout the day while offering the same benefits as their regular BB Cream such as evening out skin tone, blurring pores and concealing imperfections.

As soon as I felt the texture of this cream I knew it was going to be a winner.

It felt much lighter than their other cream and far less greasy.

On application the cream melted into my skin quickly, leaving me with a gorgeous, matte complexion.

I found that compared to some other BB creams, this bad boy offered a tad more coverage too which I loved, and I didn’t end up needing to cake my face in powder to banish any unattractive shine.

Available in shades Light and Medium, this B.B. Miracle Skin Perfector offers you beautifully smooth, matte skin while protecting you from harmful UV rays with it’s SPF  20.

Garnier’s B.B. Miracle Skin Perfector Combination to Oily Skin is available now and retails for £9.99.

The Sanctuary Skin Perfecting BB Cream

The Sanctuary are the latest brand to jump on the BB cream bandwagon, and I'm rather glad they have.

The Sanctuary Skin Perfecting BB Cream costs £14.99 and is said to moisturise and conceal for a flawless finish.

Oil absorbing silica in the formula balances and even out skin tone to help give a flawless, glowing finish to your complexion.

This BB cream contains natural oils rich in antioxidants to defend skin from free radicals, includes SPF 15 and smells wonderfully decadent and fresh.

The cream feels rich and moisturising without being greasy or oily, which is perfect for my combination skin.

Available in two shades, light to medium or medium to dark, my only criticism is that the light to medium which i used, was still ever so slightly too dark for my skin.

That said, the shade will be perfect when i have developed a little colour this spring/summer and light feeling formula with medium coverage is perfect for fresh looking skin this spring.

The Sanctuary Skin Perfecting BB Cream is available now from Boots or The Sanctuary’s website for £14.99 for a 50ml tube.

Estee Lauder Daywear Anti-Oxidant BB Creme

Estee Lauder is the latest brand to bring out its own BB Crème.

As a quick re-cap, BB crème means ‘Blemish Balm’, or in Estee Lauders words, ‘Beauty Benefit’.

It is an oil free, light feeling crème for all skin types that protects, perfects and moisturises all in one hit.

With spring not too far away you may be thinking of ditching your heavy, winter foundation for a lighter, fresher product. If that is the case, may I suggest you give this beauty a try.

The Daywear Anti-Oxidant BB Crème can be worn alone or under foundation thanks to its sheer, natural coverage which minimises flaws and maximises your skins radiance.

One of the things I love most about this crème is the way in which it controls excess oil on the skin, inhibiting shine for a beautiful finish without looking heavy and greasy.

(I’m talking about you Garnier BB)

Also packed into this miracle-like product is Estee Lauder’s Super Anti-Oxidant Complex to protect your skin from the environment, light reflective pearls and sheer pigments to help perfect the skin and barrier boosting lipids to provide deep, lasting moisturisation.

Oh and to top it all off it also has an SPF of 35.

I’ve tried several BB crèmes and this is by far and away my favourite, as well as being the most expensive at £32 for 30ml.

 (Typical)

The formula is perfect for my oily skin, allowing me to finally enjoy the benefit’s of BB crèmes without the unwanted shiny appearance which generally occurs, requires constant blotting!

I tried and swatched the crème in ‘light’ though as you can see it is not really that light and subsequently required quite a bit of blending.

That said, once blended it melted into my skin to create a light and flawless coverage which brightened up my skin and gave it a lovely warm glow.

Unlike many other cremes it had a gorgeous, fresh delicate fragrance which reminded me of cucumber.

Estee Lauder’s Daywear Anti-Oxidant BB Crème is certainly a treat for your face and is available now.

Garnier B.B. Cream Review

So i finally got around to trying out Garnier’s new so called ‘miracle’ B.B. Cream.

It sold out within a day of launching on Superdrug’s website and twitter was buzzing with people talking about it, trying to get their hands on it and asking questions about it.

The day after it launched i excitedly  hopped over to superdug and bought the Miracle Skin Perfector in Light.

Garniers Miracle Skin Perfector is Inspired by the latest Asian skincare sensation- B.B. creams, or Blemish Balms to give them their full name (Took me ages to work out what the B.B stood for!)
The cream comes in two shaded, light and medium and claims to be;

An all in one skincare solution that immediately perfects your skin. The light, non-greasy formula gives an even skin tone with a healthy glow, blurs imperfections and redness, smoothes the appearance of fine lines, hydrates for 24 hours and helps protect with SPF 15.

I can see why people were excited about this product with all those claims!

The Results:

Before (No Make Up)

I was actually quite disappointed with this product.

For a cream that is meant to be light and non greasy, i found it both heavy and greasy.

That said i do tend to have quite oily skin, so on someone with dry/ extra dry skin the cream may well be perfect.

I bought the Light shade but found that this was a little too dark for my skin and i found myself worrying about the dreaded tide mark on my neck showing!

You can see from the photo on the left that the result of wearing the cream alone left my with a more even tone and healthy glow, but it also left my skin feeling and looking rather greasy.

To combat this i tried applying my MAC Blot Powder in Medium over the top to take the shine off (see left photo)- which worked, but i was left feeling a little like i had caked my make up on, which somewhat defeated the idea of a  light, tinted moisturising esq product.

Perhaps after using it long term i would be able to get on better with it, but i just found it too heavy and oily for my skin. Sorry Garnier!

You can try it for yourself for £9.99 from Superdrug.
