Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel-Cream

If this stinking hot weather is sending your oily/combination skin into a greasy uncontrollable mess, it may be a good time to re-think your moisturiser.

When the temperature rises my skin just can’t cope with my regular cream moisturiser. My skin starts to feel clogged, heavy, oily and just grim to be honest.

If like me you also suffer with sensitive skin on top, then I realise that the idea of switching products may make you nervous for fear of upsetting the delicate balance of your skin but fear not because I’ve found the product for you.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel-Cream (£24.50) is the most perfect moisturiser for normal to oily skin types that require nourishment but can’t handle anything too heavy, particularly in the heat.

If you suffer with oily skin it’s easy to consider missing out the moisturising step of your skincare regime but it’s so important that you don’t because your skin needs nourishment!

This gel-cream is just perfect for so many reasons.

Firstly it is completely non-irritating to my skin, probably due in large to the fact that it is fragrance free as well as being non comedogenic and paraben, silicone and oil free.

Non-greasy and super lightweight in texture it possesses an instant cooling effect upon application to refresh and revive your skin.

Quickly absorbed and leaving no residue whatsoever it provides an instant boost of moisture to dry, parched skin without clogging your pores or leaving your skin feeling heavy.

The formula contains Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract and Antarcticine which help to retain your skins moisture levels, offering up to 4 hours of hydration and shine control.

The result is skin that feels wonderfully soft, nourished, refreshed and cooled all in one simple step.

It is absolutely my go-to moisturiser when I’m on holiday somewhere hot, whenever the UK is melting in a heatwave or simply when i feel my skin requires a lighter moisturiser.

The White Flowers Eye and Lip Makeup Remover is a god send thanks to its gentle yet effective bi-phase formula which is brilliant at cleansing and instantly removing even waterproof mascara as well as stubborn lip stains. 

The Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream-Oil is a relatively new addition to the Elemis family.

Last but by no means least is the Frangipani Shower Cream.

L’Oreal Professional Mythic Oil Original Oil

I have VERY long, coloured, thick hair and really struggle to create a natural feeling softness and sleekness to my hair.

I use a wide range of haircare bits and bobs and am constantly trialing products in the hope of finding ‘the one’.

‘The one’ that leaves my hair feeling incredibly soft and silky. The one that makes my hair shine with health. The one that also protects my hair from the onslaught of the hairdryer, straightener and styling.

I think I may have found ‘the one’.

L’Oreal Professional Mythic Oil Original Oil is quite possibly one of the best leave-in haircare products that I’ve ever tried.

Infused with a rich blend of precious oils including Argan, grape seed and vitamin rich avocado oil this miracle product expertly tames frizz, softens hair cuticles, delivers incredible nourishment and provides heat protection of up to 230 degrees.

This beautiful, lightweight fluid preps your hair in such a way that once dried, dull hair is transformed into flowing, silky locks that possess a mirror like shine.

I’m not even exaggerating.

The oil itself is extremely lightweight, non greasy and not at all sticky in texture. It is lightly fragranced and if I’m honest, its fragrance is the only element that I’m not a huge fan of. It reminds me ever-so-slightly of furniture polish.

You can use this product in several ways;

Apply 2-3 pumps to damp mid lengths of your hair and comb through. This helps to protect your hair against potential damage while drying and styling and leaves your hair feeling incredibly soft and nourished- even dry, damaged hair like mine.

For extra pizzaz and shine, warm 1 pump in the palm of your hands and apply to mid-lengths of dry hair.

Control frizz throughout the day by applying small amounts to your dry ends as needed.

I’m all kinds of impressed with this oil and am convinced that if you too suffer with dull, dry hair that adding this to your haircare routine will really transform your locks.
