Drunk Elephant Ceramighty AF Eye Balm

Ceramighty AF Eye Balm is the fab new launch from cult brand Drunk Elephant.

This intensely nourishing eye cream helps to lift the signs of fatigue around the eye area, resulting in firmer, brighter, younger looking skin.

Packaged within the instantly recognisable Drunk Elephant rectangular white vessel with a soft, violet coloured swizzle top lid, it is a cool, quirky, fuss free looking product.

The detail is in the formula as opposed to the packaging, as it should be with skincare!

And there’s a LOT to say about the ingredients!

Formulated at pH 5.5 to mirror your skins natural pH levels, as the name ‘Ceramighty’ might suggest, one of the key elements is a 3% Ceramide Blend.

This blend features plant derived ceramides AP,NP and EOP which are identical to the moisturising ceramides which naturally occur in our skin. Ceramides help to fill the spaces between skin cells, giving them elasticity while playing an essential role in strengthening your skins barrier by maintaining moisture balance and protecting against water loss.

A comprehensive blend of antioxidant rich fatty acids in the form of evening primrose oil, chia seed oil, flax seed oil, avocado oil , linolenic and linoleic acids help to create a natural oil barrier while deeply moisturising for plumper, fuller, wonderfully hydrated skin.

Omega 6 and 9 rich virgin marula oil, marula butter and vitamin E and A rich jojoba seed oil offer superior antioxidant nourishing properties while oat derived avena sativa kernel oil soothes and reduces redness in your skin.

To unleash the comforting, restorative properties of the cream, simply twist the lid for the pump to appear and press down.

The balm itself white in colour and sumptuous and rich yet surprisingly light in texture.

When massaged into the skin around the delicate eye area, it looses its hue and becomes transparent, expertly blending into your skin.

Quickly absorbed, it leaves your skin feel instantly nourished and soft, hydrated and comfortable- even if you’ve only managed to snatch a few hours sleep.

Non greasy or oily, it doesn’t leave behind a film or feeling of tackiness.

Skin feels re-hydrated and plump, which actually helps to reduce the appearances of fine lines and wrinkles.

Drunk Elephant Ceramighty AF Eye Balm is available now and costs £52.

Dermalogica Biolumin C Eye Serum

Say goodbye to dull, tired looking, puffy dark eyes with Dermalogica’s Biolumin C Eye Serum.

This powerful eye serum has been supercharged with an impressive host of ingredients to outsmart the visible signs of skin ageing caused by daily eye movements and environmental stress.

This luxurious, targeted serum delivers a highly-bioavailable Vitamin C complex to the skin around your eyes to dramatically brighten and visibly firm.

Suitable for all skin types, there is no time like the present to call ‘halt’ to the ageing process.

As you know, the skin around the eyes is thinner than on the rest of your face, making it more delicate and prone to revealing the signs of ageing.

Because of this, it is important to use a product specifically for your eye area in the fight against ageing.

This sleek, chic little tube of sunshine is about to become your new skincare BFF, for so many reasons.

Housed within a white tube with a vibrant, orange tip, the serum itself is wonderfully silky, light and features a nude hue.

Top of the list of key ingredients is of course, a powerful vitamin C complex which fends off oxidative stress while illuminating the appearance of dark circles.

Vitamin C and Arjun Tree Extract (both powerful antioxidants) get to work repairing the damage caused by environmental aggressors such as pollution and sun damage while chia seed oil helps to reduce under-eye puffiness and provides antioxidant protection from free radicals.

Mushroom Extract delivers nutrients to the skin, with poria mushroom helping to boost luminosity and increase your skin’s own hyaluronic acid production which results in keeping the delicate skin well hydrated.

Tremella mushroom and micro-algae locks in moisture and papain, from the Papaya plant, gently exfoliates the skins surface to reveal a brighter, healthier looking complexion.

Together, this impressive blend of botanical ingredients improves elasticity, reduces the appearance of fine lines, de-puffs and improves the look of dark circles.

The serum is lighter than a traditional eye cream but no less nourishing.

Quickly absorbed, your skin feels instantly quenched and pampered and you’re left feeling brighter and lighter somehow.

My eyes have been my trouble spot for the last 8 years or so in that I’ve really begun to notice the fine lines and crow feet creeping in.

However, since using this decadent serum I’ve also noticed that my dark tear troughs have faded and the puffiness I experience of a morning goes down much more quickly than had I not used the serum.

Free from artificial fragrance, artificial colour and parabens, it is great for those of us with sensitive skin.

Dermalogica’s Biolumin C Eye Serum is available now and costs £63.

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Age-Repair Serum

The fight against fine lines and wrinkles is an ongoing battle in my house!

I may only be in my thirties but skincare experts say that the best time to start tackling the signs of ageing is actually in your twenties so with this in mind its time to ramp up my fight!

Sarah Chapman’s Skinesis Age Repair Serum is what I decided to opt for to see if I could help a girl out as it is packed full of a host of potent ingredients designed to help your skin win the ageing war.

This award-winning serum has been formulated with a trio of performance-proven, collagen-stimulating peptides, antioxidant complex and vitamins that target the first signs of ageing and work to plump and firm your skin, correcting uneven texture, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles.

The science driven, cutting edge formula contains Sarah’s antioxidant complex of coenzyme Q10, alpha lipoic acid, L-carnosine and vitamin E along with a peptide cocktail of Syn®-Ake, Matrixyl™, Syn®-Coll and treatment concentrations of Vitamin A, C and DMAE which together help to boost collagen and skin firmness.

These high performance actives work to create a firmer, smoother complexion while ensuring that the long term health and function of your skin are improved.

Sounds good eh?

Everything about this product exudes an air of technological superiority and the bottle it sits within is no different.

Packaged safely inside an airless pump, the precious serum with its light and air-sensitive ingredients such as vitamins and antioxidants are kept protected, safe, fresh and potent right down to the very last pump.

The serum itself is exceptionally lightweight and silky in texture, more like a lotion than a serum almost.

Rich yet non greasy, it is fragranced with a soft, subtle hint of rose, hyacinth and jasmine essential offers to offer a luxurious and relaxing sensory experience.

Designed to be used on freshly cleansed skin, apply 1-2 pumps to your skin and gently massage in.
Immediately skin is left feeling hydrated and soft and once absorbed you’re good to apply your day or night cream.

Despite its decadent texture it is absorbed really quickly and leaves behind no trace apart from the delicate botanical fragrance.

I’ve been using the serum twice daily for a number of weeks and while I haven’t noticed a huge improvement in my deep wrinkles, I’d certainly say that my fine lines and un-even skin texture has vastly improved.

Whether it’s the subtle plumping effect or the high tech skincare actives that getting to work, I’ve certainly noticed that my skin feels firmer and the overall appearance has noticeable improved.

Sarah Chapman’s Skinesis Age Repair Serum is available now and costs £56 for 30ml.
