I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It’s a crime not
to prime.
Using a good quality primer helps to prep your skin for
makeup, creates an even canvas for application and basically helps to keep your
making up looking fresh and gorgeous for longer.
If like me however, you suffer with oily skin, it can be
difficult to find a primer that you can
use alongside a moisturiser that doesn’t leave your skin feeling heavy and
saturated with product.
Finding a primer that is light enough to actually work,
while controlling your oily complexion is hard enough, without the added agg of
finding one that works with your moisturiser.
Lucky for us then that Smashbox have created Photo Finish
Primerizer (£30).
Famed for their fabulous primers, this brilliant little
product is a primer and moisturiser in one.
Described as ‘moisturising makeup magnet’ this primer is
infused with skin-restoring Niacinamide and hydrating Hyaluronic Acid to help
smooth, plump and condition your skin.
Fine lines are softened, pores are blurred and your
complexion is softly saturated with a dewy glow, creating the perfect base for
your foundation.
The primer itself is milky white in colour, feather-light in
texture and scent free.
Quickly absorbed this non greasy, lightweight fluid leaves
your skin feeling instantly nourished and hydrated and because it is so light
in texture it simply melts into your skin and disappears.
It is perfect for my oily complexion but dry skin types may
feel that it isn’t quite enough to quench their thirsty skin, but I may be
wrong.
In terms of its use as a primer it does a fantastic job of
creating the perfect palette for your makeup.
My foundation glided onto my skin and actually required less
blending that usual.
Throughout the day my make up needed less touch ups, including
powder top ups on my oily t zone which surprised me and my foundation felt
locked in place!
It seems I’m not alone in my feelings about this product
with 97% of people saying it felt lightweight, 90% saying it offers high levels
of hydration and 88% saying it helped their make up to last all day.
Try it for yourself and see if it can help you achieve a
flawless look all day long.
Smahbox’s Photo Finish Primerizer is available now and costs
£30.
This is on my list to try because it looks like something I need in my collection. I'm using right now the green photo primer from Smashbox to help with my redness but even sometimes I need a little more love. This sounds like something that will help my skin out, specially during our Canadian winter months !!
