I have to admit when I first saw this fragrance I thought it was an april fools joke! After all, it looks JUST like a bottle of household cleaner, and who would buy that!?
Let’s be honest, a fragrance bottled in packaging that resembles window cleaning spray hardly makes you think ‘oooh, I bet that smells AMAZING I MUST try it!’
Well actually, for me It really made me want to try it just to see what kind of fragrance it really was!
So, designed by Creative Director Jeremy Scott, the concept for Moschino's Fresh Couture eau de toilette was to juxtapose the mundane and commonplace of all products (the household cleaner) with something precious (the juice of a luxury brands fragrance.)
Yep, I like that, very clever and VERY different!
But what does it actually smell like?
I think you’ll be surprised by the scent within- it is a really light, fresh and clean scent with top notes of mandarin, bergamot and ylang ylang.
Raspberry offers a fresh and juicy contrast to floral heart notes of white peony and osmanthus while base notes of clear woods, white patchouli and ambrox round the scent off perfectly.
Being housed in such a distinctive bottle I expected the fragrance to be quite unique, strong and possibly heady but actually it’s a very pleasant, wearable everyday scent.
It is a fairly expensive perfume retailing at £65 for 100ml but lets be honest, it’s a pretty special fragrance in a very special bottle!
