Elizabeth Arden Sheer Kiss Lip Oil

Tropical Escape is the lush new glow enhancing colour collection from Elizabeth Arden.

Inspired by the lustrous and vibrant hues of the tropics, the range allows you to escape the city with a healthy, sun-kissed glow, hydrated and illuminated skin and kissable, soft fruity lips!

These beautiful Sheer Kiss Lip Oils (£18) pair the hydrating benefits of an oil with the pigment of a gloss.

Captured within a clear, eye catching Perspex orb, you can see the shade of each individual lip oil, making it easy to find in your make up bag which I love.

To dispense, gently squeeze the soft center of the orb to reveal the lightweight oil gloss within.

It is a really beautiful product, both in terms of the look when applied and how it feels to wear.

Shade 06 Heavenly Rose

  As you can see from the photos, the lip oil is fabulously pigmented, though when applied to your lips it does appear more sheer and offers a beautiful pop of colour with just a hint of shine.

 

Shade 03 Coral Caress

The texture is fab; it feels silky and soft when applied without any greasiness or stickiness and possesses a soft, delicate menthol scent. It reminds me of a soft, lightweight lip balm almost.

It does far more than just look and feel good though. 

Key Ingredients include coconut oil to soothe lips and keep them hydrated, avocado oil to condition and offer antioxidant protection, Meadowfoam Oil to balance out lips natural oils for a supple, hydrated appearance and Tsubaki and Splianthes Acmella Flower Extract oil to support the skins natural collagen for plumper looking lips.

Charlotte Tilbury Scent of A Dream

As far as I’m concerned, Charlotte Tilbury can do no wrong.

 Her products don’t just look amazing, they ARE amazing and as for her debut fragrance, Scent of a Dream, it’s everything I hoped it would be!

It is a beautiful, sophisticated, sexy and complicatedly-unique scent which screams glamour and elegance. 

In Charlotte’s own words;

Darlings, I have created a one-of-a-kind ‘floral chypre' perfume harmony that IGNITES a mind-altering fleurotic frequency. Featuring a blend of JOY top notes including Lemon, Peach and Black Pepper, ‘FLEUROTIC’ heart notes of Jasmine, Frankincense, Tuberose and Violet, plus MAGIC MOLECULE base notes of Fire Tree, Iso E Super, Patchouli and Ambroxan. I must say that she describes it rather perfectly!

Before I go into the complicated and decadent scent can we take a moment to appreciate the beauty that is the bottle.

It screams old school 1920’s Hollywood glamour and the spritz features her iconic rose gold hue as seen throughout her collection.

The bottle is the perfect reflection of the scent within.

Charlotte labels the top notes as Positivity: Fresh and invigorating, this confidence-boosting aura develops over 15 minutes and features Lemon, Peach, Black Pepper, Saffron, Mandarin, Bergamot.

Heart notes become Love & Light: Intoxicating floral extracts trigger desire and resonate over 5 hours and contain notes of Tuberose, Jasmine, Frankincense, Hedione, Violet, Muguet, Orange Flower, Rose Oil, Tea Rose, Green Ivy, Magnolia.

Finally base notes are Power & Sex: The ‘pheromone’ notes are activated by body heat, lasting up to 9 hours. Fire Tree, ISO E Super, Patchouli, Ambroxan, Precious Woods, Cistus, Amber, Castoreum, Musks.

I’ve never come across such a complex scent before and it’s clear that Charlotte has put her heart and soul into creating this intoxicating fragrance.

You all know I’m not a big fan of floral fragrances, but every now and then something which is just a little bit special comes along and completely changes my opinion and Scent of a Dream has done just that.

It is a rich, heady, feminine and seductive fragrance which I could easily imagine Hollywood Starlets from the Golden age of cinema wearing.

 Everything about it from its exquisite bottle to its nectar reminds me of vintage glamour.

Antonia Burrell Luminous Light Polishing Powder

I love exfoliating the skin on my face but my sensitive skin requires extra gentle care.

One of the best and most gentle exfoliators I have come across is Antonia Burrell’s Luminous Light Polishing Powder.

This luxuriously soft exfoliating powder transforms into a silky foam when mixed with water to gently cleanse, buff and brighten your skin.

It may not look like anything special but this is a powerful powder packed with a host of skin loving ingredients.

Anti-bacterial Tea Tree Leaf Extract helps to keep pores purified, Zinc PCA  energizes skins well-being and soothing Colloidal Oatmeal works to reduce redness and inflammation as well as helping to restore normal pH in the skin.

Pretty fab huh?

To use, dispense a small amount in to the palm of a damp hand and mix with a splash of warm water to produce a foam.

Massage over your skin in circular motions then simply wash off.

It is a BEAUTIFUL product. It reminds me of Dermalogica’s Microfoliant due to its powder to exploiting properties but this is in my opinion, far more gentle on your skin.

It has a light, delicate and pleasant botanical scent and leaves your skin feeling silky soft and wonderfully smooth.

Unlike many other exfoliators or cleansers I didn’t dry my skin at all. There was no tightness or stinging, just baby soft skin.

Now, at £45.50 it’s an expensive exfoliator but just like the rest of the Antonia Burrell range, it really is very special.
