Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Soufflé Body Crème

After relaxing in a wonderfully warm bath there is nothing I love more than cocooning my body in a comforting, softening and nourishing body cream.

As a sufferer of dry skin, body cream is an absolute must for me but just because it’s a necessity doesn’t mean it has to be boring. In fact, it can be an exceptionally indulgent and wonderfully enjoyable experience.

At Christmas I was introduced to Laura Mercier’s Almond Coconut Milk Body Butter which is one of the most incredible scented body care products I’ve ever come across.

Inspired by the aroma of a French patisserie, you can easily imagine how delightful this butter smells and better still it did a brilliant job of hydrating my skin, leaving it feeling soft and pampered.

Thick and deeply hydrating, it is perfect for those really dark winter days where your skin is screaming out for some much needed moisture.

As much as I adore butters, there is also room in my skincare regime for lighter lotions and this is where Laura Mercier’s Almond Coconut Milk Soufflé Body Crème comes into play.

This indulgent, silky smooth crème features a lightly whipped texture, making it more like a body lotion as opposed to a thick butter.

Formulated with an infusion of vitamin A,C and E it contains grape seed and rice bran oil to deeply nourish and hydrate, vanilla extract and honey to soothe and sweet almond, hydrolyzed rice proteins and Pro-Vitamin B-5 to provide moisture balance and help protect your skin.

 

Housed within a simplistic yet chic softened, square tub with a silver lid, this soufflé bursts into life the second you remove the lid.

Easily as hydrating as their opulent body butter but with a silky lightness that would undoubtedly be preferential during the warmer months, it is a truly gorgeous, sensual body care product.

Drunk Elephant Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser

I’ve been desperate to try something from the Drunk Elephant range of products for ages but given that they are quite pricey I held off and opted to try a sample first.

In some respects I’m glad I did.

I’ve seen this cleanser raved about all over the internet and wanted to see for myself if it was just hype of if it really was that great.

So what is it? 

Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser is an innovative cleanser that is designed to remove all traces of makeup, excess oil, pollution and any other grime left over from the day.

It features a unique blend of mild surfactants and makeup dissolving emollients to cleanse without leaving any residue behind.

The brand focuses on how the formula is ‘gentle’, free of SLS, fragrance and essential oils, is non-irritating, non-sensitizing and suitable for all skin types.

The jelly has been formulated at a non-stripping pH level of 5.5 and features a host of skin loving ingredients.

Formulated with a stack of mild cleansing agents, including coconut-based surfactants which are rich in fatty acids they work together to create a rich foam that dissolves stubborn makeup, suncream and oils while supporting the healthy barrier of skin.

Virgin marula oil which is high in critical antioxidants and omegas 6 and 9 offers nourishing oils that boost the cleansing and makeup-removal power while glycerine (a skin-identical humectant), helps replenish hydration levels that are normally lost in skin during the cleansing process.

Finally cantaloupe fruit extract which is rich in antioxidants, helps to soothe and hydrate your skin leaving it feeling clean and soft.

You can apply to jelly to either wet or dry skin but for best results I prefer to stick to dry skin.

Massage gently and you’ll notice the jelly take on a white, almost sticky texture. Once you add warm water it froths up massively before rinsing away to leave your skin squeaky clean.

 What I do like is that It really does feel like you’ve thoroughly cleansed your skin. Like I said it is pretty much squeaky clean.

However, for me personally, with that, despite their ‘gentle pH 5.5 levels’ I did find it slightly frying on my skin and that’s unusual for me as I suffer from oily skin but i'm gooing to put that down to the frothing and foaming when water is added.

I mean it was no big deal come an evening as i slap on rich night time creams and serums but in the morning my skin was left feeling a little tight.

That’s my only criticism though- I love the texture, its simplicity, the way it leaves your skin so clean, but for me personally I need a little more nourishment from a cleanser.

Laura Mercier Kiss Of Colour Lip Glace Collection

Laura Mercier products are just exquisite, it’s simply a fact and my current love is their Kiss Of Colour Lip Glace Collection.

This set was actually part of their Christmas 2015 offering but are still available online and at Space NK they’re available for a bargainous £16 as opposed to the original RRP of £32.

Within this super cute collection you’ll find five stunning, deluxe mini high shine glosses that have been formulated with a blend of moisturising, anti- ageing, antioxidant and plumping ingredients.

Unlike some sets which always have at least 1 dodgy shade all five of these are gorgeous and wearable.

Within the collection you’ve got Wildflower, Daiquiri, Azalea, Bare Pink and Bare Blush. Its genuinely hard to choose a favourite because they are all so pretty.

The gloss itself is rich and thick and highly pigmented too so you get a decent amount of coverage without it looking streaky.

I’m not a massive fan of gloss because of its habit of smearing, getting hair stuck in it and its ability to somehow end up all over my face (which yes, may have more to do with me than the gloss itself!) that said, I’m prepared to risk all that for these because they leave my lips feeling so lovely without any stickiness.
