Models Own Fruit Pastel Nail Collection: Strawberry Tart

I may have mixed feelings when it comes to scented beauty products, but it’s a definite ‘Love’ rather than loathe when it comes to the Models Own Fruit Pastel, Scented Nail Polish Collection.

Available in 5 irresistible, juicy shades and complete with their own retro scratch and sniff sticker on the bottle, it’s easy to see why you’d want to collect them all!

Strawberries are one of my favourite fruits so it made sense to try Strawberry Tart, a barely there cheeky pink.

I loved the sickly sweet strawberry scent on the bottle and was excited to see how it would smell when the polish dried!

I did need to use two coats, but that’s not unusual with pale pink polishes as they can often end up streaky and uneven after just one coat.

While I loved the shade, I couldn’t help but think it looked slightly ‘pinker’ than it did online on the Models Own website- see their image and mine. What do you think?

There’s gives the impression that it’s a slightly duskier pink, where as mine is clearly very bubblegum pink.

That’s not to say I didn’t like it, the colours just didn’t seem to match up but hey, anyway!

Once dried the polish did give off a vague, strawberry scent, but let’s face it, the way a nail polish smells is not the primary reason for purchasing it!

Models Own Fruit Pastel Nail Polishes cost £5 each and are available from the Models Own website now.

LCN Candy Eggs & Butterflies cube

Candy colours are set to be HUGE this spring and there’s no easier way to update your look than with your nails.

LCN Candy Eggs & Butterflies cube (£19.55)  is a gorgeous little set comprising of 4 candy inspired shades and a selection of teenie tiny butterfly and flower motif’s which stick onto your nails.

The 4 shades within the set are mint green, orange eggs, blue candy and coral butterflies (my favourite!)

Now, while the green, blue and coral seem to fit in really well and look gorgeous, I am not a big fan of the ‘orange’ shade.

I don’t know about you, but the colour reminds me of the cheese you get in burgers – luminous and un-natural!

The other shades though are undoubtedly gorgeous, and the polish is pretty good too!

I only needed two coats and the polish dried quickly.

I loved the cute mini butterflies and floral stickies that came with the set, but after putting them on and coating them in a clear top coat, I did find that they tended to peel and catch on my clothes which got on my nerves a bit.

Transfers would probably be better, but they’re cute all the same!

The LCN Candy Eggs & Butterflies cube is available to buy now and costs £19.55.
