Cosmopolitan Magazine Blog Awards 2011

Wednesday night was the night of the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2011.

Hosted at the sumptuous 24 London in Kingly Street, it was an evening of cupcakes, canapés, cosmopolitans and class.

The venue was exploding with talent and glamour, fantastic dresses, gorgeous shoes and immaculate hair and make up.

While i didn’t win in my category, that accolade went to Vivianna Does Make up, an exceptionally worthy winner, i had a fab time and thoroughly enjoyed getting glammed up for the evening!

Im really into vintage, old school Hollywood glamour at the moment so decided to go for that particular look, doing my own make up and visiting the Incredible Powder Rooms where their Powder Puff Girls have created some stunning hair styles for me on more than one occasion.

For those of you who aren’t on twitter and didn’t see my over excited tweets last night, I am absolutely over the moon to say that I Am Fabulicious has been shortlisted in the category of New Beauty Blog in the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2011!

Thank you so much to everyone who nominated me, to say I’m chuffed would be a huge understatement!

There are hundreds of amazing blogs out there so I am completely shocked to have been shortlisted, especially with there being so many other fab blogs in that category.

Cosmo Blog Awards 2011

I have been working on I Am Fabulicious since March 2010.  Something that started out a hobby, with a post here and there about products I use and as an outlet for my creativity has steadily become something that has now taken over my life completely, and I love it.

 I eat, breathe and sleep beauty.  I’m always on the look out, scouring the internet for new, interesting  brands and products. As a sufferer of eczema finding new, exciting products for sensitive skin is also high on my agenda.

I believe that this blog is frank, honest and varied in its content. I like to think that my creative, occasionally witty writing style makes reading my posts fun and that the images I use compliment the editorial rather than swamping it.

My husband on the other hand, just doesn’t get it. Our once relatively tidy bedroom has become a treasure trove of cosmetics, shampoos, lotions and potions. Bags of the things cover the floor so the only patch of carpet left is that by his side of the bed. He isn’t impressed by this let me tell you.

He rarely sees me due to the hours I spend blogging and tweeting away, and when he does see me my head is buried in the laptop and my mind is forever on what to write next, so though I’m there in body, I’m rarely in spirit. I feel for him!

To be nominated would not only validate all my hard work, but it would prove to him that all the time i spend glued to my laptop, or spent in the bathroom and at my dressing table testing products is well worth it.
