Missguided Real Babe

Step into summer with the refreshing, fruity and exotic new scent from Missguided.

Real Babe is a fragrance designed to encourage you to embrace self-love and is a truly radiant perfume, from its vibrant, iridescent bottle to its luminous scent.

Captured within the iconic Missguided can, Real Babe has received a whimsical, beautiful makeover.

Baby pinks, soft violets and pastel turquoise hues blend into one another to create a truly stunning visual presentation.

Unlike many of its predecessors which are sexy, provocative and bewitching scents, Real Babe offers a much lighter fragrant experience.

Picture yourself barefoot, leisurely walking along a tropical beach, the sand between your toes and the sound of the sea gently lapping at the shore.

A warm, gentle breeze offers light relief from the hot sun and carries with it a bouquet of exotic, sweet scents to delight your senses.

This is what Real Babe reminds me of.

It bursts into life with top notes of sparkling citrus, spicy pink peppercorn and sweet, frosted pineapple.

Blooming at its heart is fresh jasmine and ambrette which makes way for a dry amber musk and soft tonka base.

The pineapple element reminds me of a fruity pina colada while the soft, comforting notes of tonka offer a smoothness which is simple delectable.

Elegant and sweet, soft and airy, it is an absolutely gorgeous summer scent to lift your spirits and get you in the holiday mood, whether you’re lucky enough to be getting away to warmer climes or staying home.

The best part, the full size EDP is not the only item in the Real Babe line up.

There is also a really decent sized body mist, to refresh and reawaken your scent throughout the day plus a 10ml atomiser which is perfect for popping in your handbag to allow you to continue enjoying your fragrant experience all day long.

With the 80ml EDP costing just £28, the body mist £8 and the atomiser £10, you can afford to treat yourself or a loved one to the full collection for less than the price of many other standard eau de parfums.

Missguided Real Babe EDP plus the Body Mist and Atomiser are available now from Missguided.

Ted Baker Sweet Treats Mia

Ted Baker Sweet Treats comprises of a collection of gorgeous, classic and feminine fragrances.

Designed for girls that like fragrances with distinctive personalities, each scent creates an indulgent aura of glamour and sophistication.

Elegance and glamour is a theme that is also reflected in the packaging and the fragrance bottle itself.
Housed within a chic, rectangular glass bottle and with a soft pink glow emanating from the base, it is undeniably classic and chic.

The domed, rose gold stopper features a pastel pink gem on the top and mirrors the shade of the rose gold writing across the bottle.

The straightness of the lines on the bottle are softened by the soft curves of the corners and offer a beautiful contrast of modernity (being the shape of the bottle) and the feminine glamour reflected in the design of the pretty, decorated stopper.

Mia is a delicate, floral fragrance which features unexpected hints of sweetness.

Top notes of  sweet lemon, raspberry and blackcurrant blend with a seductive base of patchouli and golden amber to create a scent which is both light and mellow and yet somehow deep and seductive.

If (like me) you’re not a huge fan of heavy floral scents, it works well as a gentle introduction into more floral based fragrances.

Feminine and charming, it is a really gorgeous scent which is presented so beautifully.

It is priced brilliantly at £30 for 100ml and it’s currently on offer at Boots for £25 so there’s never been a better time to treat yourself to a new fragrance!

Prends Moi: The World's First Slimming Fragrance

First its cakes that help you burn calories and now its fragrances that help you to lose weight.

Prends Moi Eau De Minceur by Veld’s is the latest innovative beauty product designed for far more than their traditional purpose.

Apparently, smelling nice just isn’t enough anymore, so they have created a fragrance that not only smells lush, but is being marketed as the world’s first slimming fragrance.

Here comes the science part, concentrate...

Prends Moi based on extensive aromatherapeutic and ‘neurocosmetic’ research and contains active ingredients including ‘Betaphroline’ which when it comes in to contact with keratinocytes (cells found in the outer layer of the skin) will induce the release of B-endorphins present in the skin.

A ‘pleasure message’ is transmitted through the neurotransmitters (impulse from a nerve cell to another nerve, muscle, organ or other tissue) to the hippocampus (the ‘odour brain’) triggering an immediate sensation of well being, a reduction in stress and an increase in contentment reducing the need to overeat and the scents slimming action is activated.

Sounds far too good to be true, but does it work.

Well, despite the rather unappealing look of the bottle (looks more like a deodorant can than a bottle of perfume to be honest) the fragrance was actually really pleasant.

Containing notes of bergamot, mandarin and grapefruit, the fragrance is ever so slightly fruity while the notes of musk, vanilla, patchouli and jasmine tone it down into a lovely, subtle and delicate scent.

I definitely felt relaxed as I enjoyed the fragrance wafting from my neck every time I moved. It almost provoked the same response in me as when I go for a massage and am surrounded by relaxing, aromatherapy scents.

Whether the perfume can actually affect you so much that it reduces the need for you to over eat, I’m not sure.  I think I’d need to be wearing and trailing it for a far longer period of time to notice any differences.

For me, the jury’s out on whether Prends Moi actually works as an aid to slimming, but what i will say is that it’s a really pleasant fragrance which would be perfect all year round.
