Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum

Super charge your skincare regime this winter thanks to Ole Henriksen’s Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum (£53).

This bottle of sunshine seeks to firm, hydrate and illuminate your complexion, creating skin that radiates health on even the darkest, gloomiest of days.

Say goodbye to dull, tired looking skin with this hard working skincare hero infused with three Ole Glow icons, Vitamin C, Exfoliating Acids and Banana Powder inspired pigments.

A product you can truly trust, Ole has been changing the skincare landscape game since the very beginning where he was a pioneer in bringing vitamin C to the skincare world and pushed boundaries when he brought makeup artist secret “banana powder” to our daily routines.

In this serum, he has combined these key skincare brighteners and paired them with smoothing PHA’s and hydration hero hyaluronic acid to create a multi-acid serum with the brands highest concentration of Vitamin C.

The powerful, bright serum contains 15% Vitamin C, an antioxidant that is know to brighten the complexion, reducing the appearance of dark spots and pores while improving the elasticity in your skin and protecting against environmental aggressors such as pollution.

5% PHAs (Polyhydroxy Acids) offer a plumper alternative to regular AHAs and gently exfoliate your skin to reveal fresher, newer healthier skin below while evening skin tone and overall texture.

Skin’s hero element Hyaluronic Acid actively plumps your skins surface while locking in moisture while antioxidant rich Vitamin E helps to stabilise the Vitamin C while conditioning your skin.

Finally, Banana Powder inspired pigments offer an natural illumination that seeks to aid colour correction.

It’s certainly an impressive line up of key ingredients but the results are even more exciting.

In a consumer study on 34 women, after 1 week of using Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum 91% agreed that the serum brightened their skin, 93% said that their skin felt revitalized and 94% agreed that it helped to create healthier looking skin.

So, the serum itself is orange in colour and smells wonderfully refreshing, juicy and zesty with soft notes of citrus fruits.

Relatively thick in texture for a serum, it is surprisingly lightweight when applied onto your skin.

Quickly absorbed, the paraben, sulfate and phthalate free formula instantly gets to work to hydrate and plump your skin while leaving behind a subtle but noticeable illumination that instantly lifts and brightens your complexion.

As it contains relatively high levels of Vitamin C as patch test is suggested prior to use, however I found that it caused no ill effects on my sensitive skin.

I did only begin with applying a small amount so would certainly suggest that you do the same for the first few times you use it to assess your skins tolerance to it.

I apply the serum to freshly cleansed skin prior to using a moisturiser and I quickly noticed a difference to both the look and texture of my skin.

My skin felt softer and smoother after just a week and despite having oily/combination skin it didn’t feel too heavy on my face.

I actually felt that my skin was so nourished that I skipped my moisturiser on several occasions but if you have normal or dry skin then you should definitely still use your moisturiser.

I adore this serum; its bright, sunny, fresh scent feels reviving in the mornings and I love the healthy glow that it offers immediately.

If you are in the market for a new serum I highly suggest that you invest in giving this one a try.

  1. I was sent this a while back and i still haven't tried it out yet . It sounds nice though from your review, although i would suggest taking out the whole "Paraben free thing" because scientifically parabens aren't dangerous at all and they are the most researched, tolerable preservatives that we have.
