Allow me to introduce you to one of my new favourite
products.
This moisturising, soothing, anti-ageing gel harnesses the
cosmetic benefits of something called Helix Aspersia Muller, a substance
produced by snails which quickly regenerates their shells and skin when
damaged.
O.K. before you freak out (if you haven’t already) allow me to explain that this gel is far
from gross and is definitely not the equivalent of sticking some slimy snails
on your face!
Lab test have shown that Helix Aspersia Muller contains
a unique balance of beneficial components including Glycolic Acid, Collagen,
Elastin, Allantoin, Vitamins and Minerals, all things that are fab your skin.
The unique healing and
powers of the snail’s slime, which is harvested without causing any harm, was
discovered by chance by snail farmers in Chile who noticed their hands were
incredibly soft and hydrated and minor cuts and scars were healing unusually
quickly.
Dr Organic Snail Gel, which is available exclusively to
Holland & Barrett, boasts a whole range of anti-ageing benefits including,
softened wrinkles, smooth skin and scar reduction.
The gel itself has a beautiful, light, silky texture and is possesses
a beautifully fresh lemongrass scent.
It is anything but
slimy and vanishes into your skin quickly, leaving it feel soft and nourished
without feeling greasy or heavy.
I’m in love with the way it smells; fresh, bright and
citrus. You can really smell the lemongrass oil in it.
The Aloe Vera within the gel combines with the snail
filtrate to calm and nourish your skin, leaving it feeling lush.
I love using the gel and my skin certainly feels perkier and
more alive when I use it. I tend to just slap it on pretty liberally across my
face and due to its anti ageing properties and ability to soften wrinkles, have
stepped away from my eye creams while testing it.
I’ve certainly not noticed any deterioration of the wrinkles
around my eyes from not using my creams and I would say that my skin definitely
feels firmer after using it.
Dr Organic Snail Gel is available from Holland and Barrett and costs £19.99. If you can get past the whole ‘snail gel’ thing, I’d really
urge you to try it.
It’s a great all-round, anti ageing gel which is
free from Parabens, SLS, artificial colours, fragrances, and harsh
preservatives.
I love the idea of it making my skin look smoother - do you think it would be suitable for combination/oily skin? xx
