Cover FX Shimmer Veil

I will be the first to admit that when it comes to make up looks, I’m not massively into the whole shimmery/glimmery/glittery eyeshadow look.

Probably, mainly because I don’t really ever have any occasions to attend where such makeup would be deemed appropriate eye lid wear, also because I’ve always really bloody struggled to get on with shimmery/glimmery/glittery eyeshadows.

I’ve always found them to be almost impossible to apply, flaky, dusty and fly-away in texture, leaving every part of my face shimmery BUT my actual eye lids.

*Rolls eyes*

If only I’d had Cover FX’s Shimmer Veil back in the day!

Shimmer Veil is a multi-use, crease-proof liquid shimmer crème that imparts fabulous metallic colours in a range of six different shades.

Designed primarily to be used on eyes, this multi-tasking lovely can also be used on lips and even brow bones to create some seriously out-of-this-world multidimensional shimmer!

I tested out two of six shades in Halo and Amethyst.

Halo is a multi-dimensional, holographic, glistening pearl shade which is probably the most subtle of the six shades- though having said that I’m not sure ‘subtle’ is the right word to use as these products are designed to get you noticed, not have you blend into the background!

Amethyst is the prettiest, iridescent lavender- almost baby pink I’d say.

Eye catching and gorgeous the crème colour is applied via wand and can be used lightly to create a delicate shimmer or built up for a dramatic glistening glow.

Light yet creamy in texture, the weightless crème dries almost instantly upon application and I can attest to its ability to stay put!

Once applied this veil is going NO-WHERE meaning you’re left looking effortlessly ethereal all day long without any hint of smudging or flaking.

Perfect.

The Original Selfie Lovers Case

If like me you are either a) clumsy, b) have kids or c) are/have both then when it comes to protecting your pride and joy you really need to ensure that it is sufficiently protected.

By ‘pride and joy’ I am OF COURSE referring to your mobile phone. Obviously.

Mobile phones of today are no longer just a device that is used to make or receive phone calls. These technological wonders are now capable of so much they have become (to many *cough* me *cough*) like a third arm and when you lose it or break it, it is literally like the end of the world.

Back in the day protective covers did little more than serve a purpose- to protect your device from damage and breakage but its 2018 guys and some cases have been created to be way more useful than just serving as an additional layer of protection.

Simply press the button on my phone case and bam, I’ve got light to help me take a wicked shot.

I love it when Fragrance Houses launch new editions or special edition fragrances based on a pre-existing, iconic scent.

 If you are already big fans of the original then it gives you the opportunity to explore a scent which is likely to be similar to the one you love but that features new, exciting and intriguing notes.

It’s for this very reason that I was EXTREMELY excited when I saw that Viktor and Rolf had launched Flowerbomb Nectar.

I am a mega fan of the original and simply adore its soft, addictive, feminine, gourmand-floral notes.

While it retains many of the same gorgeous notes as the original (Bergamot, Jasmine, Vanilla & Patchouli) it also contains a blend of notes which together create a mysterious, sensual and in some ways, a more intense fragrance. 

The fragrance opens with top notes of Bergamot, Blackcurrant and surprisingly, Gunpowder Accord.

This unusual note creates an almost metallic freshness against the sweet and floral bergamot and blackcurrant, tantalising your senses!

Top notes melt away to reveal a delicate and feminine floral nectar of Sambac Jasmine and Orange Flower combined with the familiar sweetness of Osmanthus.

The scent is completed with base notes of soft, creamy vanilla, patchouli and warm,spicy tonka bean which create the addictive gourmand element that I love so much!

The overall result is a fragrance that explodes upon application, releasing a combination of soft, sweet, floral and intense notes that capture your senses and leave you feeling draped in sensuality.

It is a stronger scent in many ways from Flowerbomb and the Gunpowder Accord is actually really quite powerful until the scent has lingered on your skin for some time.

Once the top notes fade you are left with a fragrance that is sweeter and fiercer than its predecessor.

Flowerbomb Nectar most certainly has not disappointed!

I find it a thrilling addition to the Flowerbomb line of fragrances and feel that in terms of wear, it is well suited as an evening scent thanks to the sensual and intense nature of its notes.
