Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipsticks

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipsticks (£8.99) are not just a mouthful to say, they are also the latest lippie range from cult brand, the creators of the supremely popular Colorburst Lip Butters.

Is it just me that gets annoyed with the lack of the letter ‘u’ in their word ‘color’?!

Anyway, these new semi-matte lippies which are out this month are said to offer ‘a powder like finish which give instant moisture and all day colour to your lips’.

Their moisturising properties come from Vitamin E, Aloe and Shea Butter while Revlon’s Colorstay technology is designed to leave you with colour that lasts for ages.

I tried out two of their 14 shades, High Heels and Womenswear.

Firstly can I just say, I love the packaging- It’s compact, chic and cute and I like the ‘click’ you get when you twist the lippie up.

I also really liked the texture of the product which glided onto my lips like silk but felt soft and comforting like velvet.

I wasn’t, however, such a fan of the shades.

Perhaps it was just the two I chose, but both of them had really iridescent properties to them (which you may or may not be able to pick up on in my photos) making my lips look shimmery, which I did not like.

L-R Womenswear & High Heels

They are being marketed as a semi-matte lipstick, yet the appearance is that of a shimmery, glossy lip, which I thought odd.

That said, they did feel really nice on my lips and weren’t drying, but I did notice that while the base colour lasted a fair while, the iridescent sheen disappeared quite quickly, and unevenly, meaning I had to keep topping it up so my lips didn’t look half done!

I really wanted to give these an 8 or 9 out of 10 and had high hopes after the huge success of their Lip Butters, but on this occasion they didn’t quite make it. I think I’m going to try out a few of their other 14 shades and see if I get on better with any of them.

What do you think? Have you tried any of these out yet?

Revlon Bargain at Boots

While on my morning trip to Boots to grab a yummy Naked Smoothie, something glittery, sparkily and pink caught my eye from one of the cosmetics shelves.

It was a Revlon nail polish, aptly called Sparkling (£6.49).

 I was in love.

Off I popped to the counter to purchase my gorgeous polish when I was told that Revlon had a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment.

Back I toddled to treat myself to two other items and settled on a Quick Dry Top Coat (£6.49) (You will always need one of these) and a Just Bitten stain and balm in Beloved (£7.99)

Back I went to pay only to be told that I now qualified to receive a free nail polish!

So say hello to Sequins, a stunning gold polish dripping in glimmering sequins!

Result!

Words cannot convey to you just how much I love these Polishes!

They're perfect for the party season and contains pretty sequin dots and glitter in abundance.

Stunning.

I would have been prepared to pay good money for the gold polish, so to get it free was fabulous!

L: Sparkling R: Sequins

On to Just Bitten.

I love the pretty, autumnal berry shade of this stain.

I prefer a matte look on my lips, so would be inclined just to wear the stain alone.

That said,  on cold days like this when your lips need a little TLC and extra moisture, the balm over the top ensures your lips stay smooth, moisturised and gives  a really pretty sheen.

Left: The stain on its own. Right: The stain with the balm over the top

So, If you fancy bagging yourself a Revlon bargain you better head down to Boots!

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters

These bad boys already have a waiting list ahead of their arrival and I was beyond excited to try them out and i know that loads of you can’t wait to get your mitts on them too.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters are softening, smoothing and hydrating lip colours that moisturise and hydrate like a lip balm but offer the fab coverage of a lipstick.

Available in 14 shades and infused with mango butter, shea butter and coconut butter they are a real treat for your lips.

The lip butters are all naturally fragrant with Vanilla Absolute and offer an impressive medium coverage with a high shine finish.

I love this formula, its creamy and moisturising yet offers a really decent amount of coverage, just what you need to keep your lips beautifully soft.

The 14 strong collection ranges in colours from sheer hues to colour pops and vivid washes of high sheen, but these 3 are my personal favourites.

Cotton candy

Never out of fashion, this girly shade offers a pretty pink which despite appearances is actually not too O.T.T due to its medium coverage and sleek shine.

Peach Parfait

The very colour that’s featured on the gorgeous Emma Stone, peach parfait is a beautiful, peachy shade which offers a lovely, subtle coral glow which is very on trend this s/s.

Strawberry Shortcake

As you can see ive already been wearing this gorgeous, pastel colour. A light application offers a pretty sheen where as thicker one see’s the colour come out more. Its the sort of shade which will look stunning on any skin tone.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters cost £7.99 each and will be available from Boots and Superdrug from March 19th.
