Max Factor False Lash Epic Mascara

One of the things that Max Factor do REALLY well are their mascara’s and their latest launch is no different.

The latest addition is their False Lash Epic Mascara and I can confirm that it is epic, but more about that later.

This brilliant mascara works so well thanks to a combination of its awesome formula and its wicked, if slightly terrifying looking brush!

The ‘Epic’ brush combines a double zoned body brush zoom action tip that reaches into the lash bed and loads mascara from the root, with a wetter formula for increased play time and a zoom action tip to capture fine eyelashes and magnify the lash fan.

The unique, arched shape of the brush combs and defines lashes, the flat edge deposits the darkening formula on to the lashes and the specialised tip helps to sculpt and reach hard to reach places.

The mascara formula contains higher levels of water to allow for increased play time on your lashes, has a high melting point wax to reduce smudging and flaking and contains a gloss polymer to add shine and make your lashes super glossy.

Despite being initially terrified of the brush I actually found it really easy to use. It wasn’t full of product so my lashes weren’t overwhelmed and the formula allowed me time to brush it through evenly before it set.

The product glided onto my lashes perfectly and the brush ensured it was distributed evenly, coating pretty much every single lash without any clumping.

As you can see from the photos, my lashes looked immediately longer, more volumised, curved and super impressively, completely clump free.

In terms of wear, there was indeed no flaking or smudging after a 12 hour day and much to my delight it was really easy to remove too, meaning no trauma to my lashes or eyes.

I actually don’t have a single negative thing to say about this bad ass mascara.

Its super easy to use, long lasting and creates the most epic, beautiful lashes.

Max Factor’s new False Lash Epic Mascara is available now and costs a very reasonably £9.99.

Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balms

Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balms are my new favourites.

These gorgeous little sticks are the answer to the prayers of women everywhere who find the intensity of a lipstick too extreme but still want a product that can give them a great colour.

Better still, a colour whose intensity they are in control of.

This lipstick/balm is the most impressive hybrid I’ve come across. Many similar products either offer great moisturisation OR great colour, one at the expense of the other, but not these balms.

These contain 70% occlusives and emollients, with occlusives being a substance that forms a natural barrier on the lips and helps to retain moisture. Mango, cocoa and shea butters also ensure that the balm has a rich, thick and creamy texture and helps to smooth and soften your lips.

But we’re not just after a lip balm, we want some colour, and decent colour at that.

Each colour Intensifying Balm contains micro fine mica particles which deliver a gradual transformative colour, meaning you can build the colour intensity to your desired shade.

Thin platelets of mica mean the balm can be applied in very thin layers, enabling it to be built upon smoothing and effectively with each subsequent layer. This also increases the light reflection in the pigment maximising the colour intensity.

Using these balms is simply a pleasure. They glide across your lips beautifully, leaving behind a subtle layer of moisturising colour.

Apply again and again until you’ve achieved the colour intensity you’re after. It’s as simple as that!
I tried three very different shades to see how well they would all work.

30 Refined Rose was my favourite, a gorgeous dusky pink that suited my pale skin and provided the perfect amount of colour with just one application.

40 Exquisite Caramel worried me a bit as I didn’t expect it to provide me with much colour as it is a nude, but I was impressed. It went from being a very subtle nude to a pretty decent caramel shade after a few applications.

Again, 35 Classy Cherry concerned me as one of my pet peeves is a red balm or tint that ends up streaky and weak looking. I needn’t have worried as just like the other two, it was gorgeous. Personally, I felt this one needed a few coats to ensure it looked like it has been applied properly, but it was a pleasure to be able to wear a decent red lip without suffering from the drying effect of wearing a lipstick.

I actually don’t have a bad thing to say about these little gems and at £8.99 each I’d say they’re worth every penny

Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balms are available now in 9 gorgeous shades.

Max Factor Colour Effect Flipstick's

Max Factor has pushed the boundaries of lip colour with its latest launch.

Their  Colour Effect Flipstick (see what they’ve done there!)  is a multicoloured lipstick duo that allows you to get artistic with your lip looks.

The ‘Flipstick’ is an  innovative, double-ended designed product which boasts a rich and creamy block colour lipstick on one end and an iridescent lipstick shade on the other.

I loved this idea so couldn’t wait to try them out.

Shade Gipsy Red

I sampled two shades, Gipsy Red and Boreal Mauve.

I loved the red in the Gipsy Red wand- it was so bright and had an ever so slightly burnt orange look to it.

Both shades of Gipsy Red together

I didn’t get on as well with the other shade, the gold. I found it rather drying and wasn’t a huge fan of the metallic sheen.

Shade Boreal Mauve Flipstick

I definitely preferred the Boreal Mauve Flipstick and i loved layering the two shades together to create different looks.

As you can see from the image from Max Factor, this is the sort of look that can be achieved with their Flipstick’s.

I am not much of an artist so limited my looks to layering the colours to create different shades, but that was good enough for me!

Available in 6 shades the Flipstick’s cost £8.49 and are available nationwide now.
