REN ClearCalm Non-Drying Spot Treatment

I had hoped that as I approached my mid thirties (sob) that bad skin would become a thing of the past.

After all, spots and blemishes are just something that teens have to deal with right?

WRONG.

Every single month, without fail, I’ll develop a small amount of pimples on my chin and it matter not what I do, how I cleanse, what products I use or even what I eat, as sure as the sun rises they’ll appear and do you know what, I still don’t know how to get rid of them quickly.

The product itself is almost a gel-serum in texture and has a very faint, botanical scent.

Lightweight and soft in texture it is designed to be applied directly to your spots.

Unlike many traditional spot treatments which can sting on application you’ll be pleased to hear that no such reaction occurred here. In fact, my red angry skin actually felt soothed, cool and more calm after it had been applied.

Unlike some treatments which sit on top of the skin making make up application impossible, this gel-serum sinks into the skin and once dried it disappears entirely, allowing you to conceal the area should you desire.

After using the product twice daily, even after just 24 hours I could see a reduction in size, swelling and redness.

Better still, the skin around the spot hadn’t been aggravated at all so my skin was able to repair and heal without any additional irritation.

The sunny bottle of sunshine is the new Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic from REN.

I was a bit nervous about switching from my regular toner to this as my current toner is SO good and contains glycolic acid which really I personally feel really helps control and brighten my skin.

However, I’m open to trying new products and other acids so I gave it a go.

Firstly can I say that I love the bottle design and the way in which the product is dispensed.

It is both mess- free and helps prevent product wastage with its special pump dispenser. To use, simply press down firmly on the pump with a cotton wool pad until it is saturated.  

Immediately you’ll be met with the refreshing and sweet aroma of ripe oranges which is a gorgeous scent for a toner!

Refreshing and zesty it is treat for your senses before you’ve even treated your face!

Swipe the cotton pad onto your clean face and neck avoiding the eye area and allow to dry before continuing with your skincare regime.

I have super sensitive skin and I can confirm that this tonic caused absolutely no reaction to my skin whatsoever. It is extremely gentle, non-drying and doesn’t leave your face feeling sore, tight or screaming out for moisture.

Designed to be used twice daily, it is a really lovely product works equally as well as my current beloved toner.

My skin feels clean, looks refreshed and dewey and since switching toners I have still managed to avoid any breakouts, so it’s definitely doing its job well!
