It certainly gives very little away about the scent that can be found within other than to hint at a potentially feminine darkness.

Feminine Darkness is a fairly accurate way of describing the scent in my opinion thanks to its mix of rich and heady scents combined with a soft, sweetness.

Opening with top notes of powerful Bergamot and distinctive and strong Black Coffee, Peony Noir immediately captivates your senses.

Heart notes of Rose, Iris and Orange Blossom offer a beautiful and light floral bouquet to lift and contrast with the heady opening experience.

Base notes of beautiful patchouli, sweet, creamy vanilla and warming sandalwood round off the scent to perfection leaving a fragrance that is enchanting, elegant and so very romantic.

It is the perfect evening scent thanks to its depth and warmth and is so universal in its tone it is guaranteed to satisfy many a fragrance fan.

There are so many elements to satisfy even the fussiest fragrance fan (like me)! It manages to be dark and heady and yet also possesses a soft, sweetness. It is undeniably floral yet not to the extent that it is overpowering.

By Invitation Rose Gold is the new fragrance release from cult crooner, Mr Michael Buble!

Speaking of Michael Buble, did I ever tell you about the time when working at FHM Magazine that I left for the day and bumped into a handsome young man who held the doors to reception open for me?

I smiled, thanked him without paying much attention then walked out. 

I’d only taken a few steps when I suddenly realised that I recognised him, so I turned back around to catch another glimpse of him, to help clarify in my mind how I knew him.

It was at that exact moment that I saw him turn around to look back at me too. 

We locked eyes. I smiled, he smiled, I turned back and silently blushed.

I was mortified that he had seen me looking at him and knew that he probably thought I was checking him out, but hey, he’d clearly been checking me out too so fair enough!

As I turned the corner onto a busy Oxford Street and made my way to the tube it suddenly clicked.

That handsome young man was not someone I knew. That handsome young man was only bloody Michael Buble who as it turns out, was visiting Magic FM’s offices for an interview! (Magic! Was in the same building as FHM, ZOO, Kerrang and KISS radio)

So yeah. I inadvertently checked out and got checkout out by Michael Buble. 

Funny old world hey! And now here I am 8 years later reviewing his second fragrance!

By Invitation Rose Gold is a sensual and heady Floral Oriental Gourmand scent, packed full of a host of elegant floral notes delicately off-set by soft, sweet tones.

Housed in the same shaped bottle as the original, this scent is as you would expect, enrobed in the most gorgeous Rose Gold tones.

Simple yet stunning the rose gold of the bottle touches on the playful pink notes of the fragrances.

Designed to resemble an elegant piece of jewellery, the bottle is surrounded by what can only be described as rose gold bracelet, reflecting the precious and beautiful nectar within.

By Invitation Rose Gold is a more complex and heady scent that its predecessor and opens with top radiant notes of magnolia, red fruits and Granit pear.

Heart notes of tender rose and peony blend into perfection with a hint of black plum while base notes of warm cinnamon, creamy vanilla and sweet praline provide a decadent and rich, gourmand experience.

Complex, deep and delicious it is a fabulous addition to Buble’s fragrance collection and in my opinion would be an excellent night-time companion to the original scent.

Celebrity fragrances are nothing new, indeed now days if a celebrity is not fronting a fragrance they are launching their own.

What IS more unusual is when a male celebrity creates a female scent.

Step forward Mr Michael Bublé who has launched By Invitation, his debut scent for women.

"It's no secret that I'm a hopeless romantic. It’s in every note I sing and every song I write. The idea was to create a special ‘invitation’ to fans into my new world of fragrance. I’m inviting women to enjoy a beautiful scent that represents my personal taste and imagination. By Invitation is what I’d call ‘love in a bottle.” 

Its intriguing, right!

Like Michael Bublé’s music, By Invitation is described as being both modern and timeless and this is reflected in its bottle.

I really like its unique look, a bottle suspended within a gold bracelet and a pull off cap reminiscent of a classic fragrance atomiser of the past.

Beneath the suspended bottle you’ll find Michael’s initials, a small subtle touch guaranteed to delight any Bublé fan!

As for the fragrance itself, it wasn’t at all what I imagined it would be like.

Its deliciously rich and luxurious, a feminine floral that is both distinctive yet soft.

Top notes of red fruits and bergamot drawn you in before heart notes of lily of the valley, wild jasmine and peony create a beautiful floral swirl.

Warming base notes of sandalwood musk and sweet vanilla round off the scent perfectly leaving a wonderfully soft and delicate fragrance.

It is definitely one of the most elegant celebrity fragrances I have come across, from its sophisticated appearance to its decadent scent.
