La vie est belle is Lancome’s best selling fragrance and it’s
not hard to see why.
Housed within an exquisite glass bottle you’ll find a
beautiful, gourmand yet elegant scent.
Lets talk about the bottle first. It is soft, feminine and chic
and features a simple but classic grey tie around its neck.
I love the duality of the soft curves of the bottle against
the square lines of the lid, a perfect contrast which to me speaks of the La vie est belle’s woman’s ability to be both soft and feminine as well as strong
and robust.
The pretty coral hue of the fragrance radiates out and hints
gently at the soft and beautiful scent within.
La vie est belle opens with notes of sweet, juicy
blackcurrant and pear before key notes of Iris, orange blossom and jasmine
emerge offering a sophisticated, delicate and feminine tone.
Its base is warm, powdery and gourmand thanks to its
almond-like accords of praline, vanilla, tonka bean and patchouli which
together create an undeniably graceful and alluring perfume.
I love the way that when applying this fragrance I’m hit initially
by the sweet and fruity notes before
being delighted with a soft, sweet and
powdery dry down.
It is the perfect combination of sweet, fruity and floral
without one element over taking another.
Lancome’s La vie est belle is available now and costs £69
for 50ml.
