Clinique Sweet Pots Sugar Scrub and Lip Balm

I was so excited when I saw this launch from Clinique back in December.

Clinique’s Sweet Pots Sugar Scrub and Lip Balm not only sounded like the perfect duo but looked beautifully presented in a double pot resembling a delicious macaroon!

One side of this pot houses a sugary exfoliator while the other contains a rich lip balm and together they are designed to leave you with kissably soft, smooth and beautiful lips.

I’m happy to confirm that In person they are just as beautiful and I happily tested out the fresh and vibrant shade of Orange Blossom.

Before I go any further, YES this looks super orange in the pics and even when swatched to a degree, but when applied to your lips it is actually a very delicate shade, providing a subtle hint of peach rather than bright orange.

So back to the product. As mentioned before, one side houses a sugar scrub to help prep and prime your lips. Beet Sugar Granules help to gently buff away dead, dry skin while Jojoba Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado and Grapeseed Oil help to condition and repair your lips.

Apply to your lips sparingly and gently massage with your finger tips before using a tissue to remove the product.

Now your lips are primed to perfection its time for the super rich, hydrating balm. Aloe Leaf Extract, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Murumuru Seed Butter help to create a thick and rich balm that leaves your lips feeling soft and supple while offering a delicate sheen and gentle pop of colour.

It’s a really lovely, compact product and at £15 per pot, I think is a reasonable price point. I’ve heard people say that they think it’s a lot of money for what it is but when you consider that you’re getting a scrub and a balm then in my view, £15 is a pretty good price.

The Clinique Sweet Pots Sugar Scrub and Lip Balm is available in six shades, inspired by the flavours of macaroons (Red Velvet, Orange Blossom, Pink Framboise, Sweet Rose, Candied Cassis and Citron Bleu) and are available now for £15 each.

Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer

Clinique have a new lipstick and in my opinion, it’s a bit of a game changer.

Not usually known for their lippies, the new Pop Lip Colour and Primer lovelies may just change that!

Available in 16 shades within 4 different colour ways; Nudes,Tawnies, Pinks and Voilets, these colour rich lipsticks have a built in primer which helps to define, smooth and nourish lips all day long.

Formulated  with Shea and Murumuru butters, they are combined into a flexible polymer blend that provides superior moisture maintenance for your lips.

The benefit of the primer creates a smoothing, velvety spread of colour on application and helps to keep your colour vivid throughout the day.

I have to be honest, I’ve never used a lip primer before so was interested to see if it would make any difference to the longevity and feel of the lipstick, but before I go into that- HOW pretty are these lipsticks!

Packaged in chic, modern looking square sticks with mirror like silver lids, the shade within is reflected on the outer packaging which looks fabulous if you ask me!

The lipstick within is a beautifully rich, creamy texture and glides onto your lips beautifully leaving a velvety soft finish.

Unlike many lippies, these are not drying in the slightest and I was very impressed with the combination of vibrant colour and their moisturising properties.

You often find that with moisturising lippies, the colours are often weak, streaky and lacking lustre, but this is definitely not the case with the Pop Lip colours.

I tested out a vibrant pink, 09 Sweet Pop, a sugar sweet pink 12 Fab Pop and a nude, 04 Beige Pop.

I found that the lighter pink, Fab Pop required slightly more attention when applying in terms of building the colour without any streakiness. By that I mean it took two coats rather than just one, so hardly a deal breaker.

I’m not usually a ‘nude’ lippie girl as those colours tend to make me look washed out, but I actually really liked Beige Pop, so I’m now a nude convert, thanks Clinique.

I LOVE the shade Sweet Pop! It’s perfect for my skin tone and offers a lovely, wearable, summery shade.

The best thing about these lipsticks is that you don’t feel like you’re wearing a lipstick. 

It feel like you’re wearing a lip balm, as your lips stay soft and silky all day and when you do need to top up, the colour wears evenly off your lips.

Clinique’s Pop Lip Colour and Primer Lipsticks get a huge thumbs up from me!

Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment

Every winter begins the same way for me, with a hunt for the best, most hard working lip balm or lip protection product to keep my lips soft, moisturised and protected from the harsh weather and central heating.

I’m thrilled to say that despite it only being the start of November, I need look no further!

 I’ve already found my chapped lip, winter saviour in the form of Clinique’s Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment.

This smooth, gel based treatment is everything my lips could possibly want this winter and to top it all off, it helps to minimize the look of wrinkles on and around the lips too!

This treatment balm contains a unique “Smart Sphere UV” blend, activated by heat, UV or other oxidative stress, which helps to delivers anti-oxidants to the lips.

Sounds smart to me, but science aside I just love the way it actually works.

Lots of other balms and treatments see me having to top up every 20 minutes or so, which gets annoying and can actually leave my lips feeling even drier, but with this gem my lips stay feeling soft and moisturised for much longer, and it even stays put when I drink my tea!

 It’s totally transparent in colour and has no fragrance or taste to it, so it can be used both over or under lipstick, however you see fit!
