Holly Willoughby Talks Toothpaste & Beauty!

Say hello to National Treasure  Holly Willoughby, the new face of Oral-B's 3D White Toothpaste!

I caught up with the lovely lady herself to find out a bit more about this new miracle product and to discover all about her beauty secrets!

 

Congratulations on becoming the ‘smile’ for Oral-B’s 3D White Toothpaste!  What made you decide to be the face of their new product?

I would never work with a brand I didn’t trust, and Oral-B for me, is a brand that I am happy to be working with and have in my home for the whole family to use.  

 I have learnt all there is to know about teeth and oral care and I’m very proud to be working with Oral-B

Have you noticed a big difference since using it? 

I’ve been using 3D White toothpaste for a few weeks now, and my teeth look great; my teeth look whiter even between the gaps.

You recently tweeted a pic of yourself without any make up- do you enjoy being make up free or do you love wearing it? 

I don’t put any on before I go to the studio, just a little bit of moisturiser when I’ve hopped out the shower. In the morning before I leave for work (at 7.30am) 

I use Liz Earle in the shower, brush with Oral-B 3D White toothpaste to make sure my smile is on form!

How important is your appearance to you?

As a TV presenter my teeth are always on show.  Doing so much talking and interviewing I need to have a really nice smile, I can’t have yellow crooked teeth as thousands of people are watching!

For me, it’s not about having an absolutely perfect bright white smile as that wouldn’t fit with my overall look, but they do need to look white and clean.

How do you cope if you have a fat/unattractive/bad hair day when you know you still have to go to work and be on TV?

I don't have that much time to think about those sort of things. Once I'm dressed, that's the last thing I think about and if I spent all day worrying, it'd be a nightmare.

Please share with us one of your top secret beauty tips

Heat your eye lash curlers with a hair dryer before using them for a really bouncy lash and also, make sure you floss your teeth.

 You can have a great face of make-up but if you have stains in between your teeth from not flossing, your smile won’t look as good as your look. 

What Make up brands do you love?

Oral-B 3D White toothpaste – I don’t have time for really long beauty treatments so using 3D white is perfect for me. It takes no time at all and gives me really natural white teeth

Max Factor Waterproof mascara – I’m a big fan of Max Factor mascaras – and they do a great waterproof one

Sisley Nutritive Lip Balm – Recommended to me by my make-up artist. A great handbag beauty product

Liz Earle Tinted Moisturiser – this is great for Mum’s on the go. Quick and easy.

OPI and Essie nail varnishes – I love all the bright colours on offer. I’m also a fan of gel nails too.

Do you have a beauty Icon?

I think Scarlett Johnson is so beautiful. Her look is really effortless and she just exudes this beautiful confidence. She’s got a really classic, naturally beautiful look.

What was the best beauty advice you have ever been given?

Use a Tinted Moisturiser - then you can just whack it on – time is of the essence! Plus curl your eyelashes!

Quick Fire Q&A with Mischa Barton

While she hasn’t been gracing our TV screens for what feels like forever, you may have noticed that Mischa Barton is back in the spotlight this week due to a highly controversial photo shoot with photographer Tyler Shields involving some bizarre poses with slabs of raw meet (see below, ewww)

The somewhat troubled starlet has seen her career plateau since the OC came to an end in 2006, (yes I still mourn its absence and drooling over Adam Brody each week) but despite her personal issues she is still undoubtedly one of Hollywood’s more gorgeous girls.

 I stole a few minutes to do a quick fire Q&A with her and was surprised at her answers (note the final question, who’d have though!)

I find it hard to name any one person, there are just so many great people out there! My Mum has always been a great influence on my style; particularly during the more formative years. 

As a high profile star, do you feel pressure from the media to look ‘perfect’

I tend to just be myself when working and not working. There’s no denying that I’ve developed a certain awareness of being watched whether on-screen or off, but it comes with the territory, so when I’m not portraying a character, I’m just being me.

Lauren, its a pleasure to speak to you! Please can you tell I Am Fabulicious what’s in your make up bag today?

I always have powder and blotting papers, liquid eyeliner and some sort of clear lip balm.

What made you decide to create your gorgeous website?

 So many fans ask me about my hair and makeup and i really learned so much from my long time glam team so i felt it would be nice to share the tricks of the trade with all my fans. Every girl should have the ability to learn the secrets that the Hollywood stars use to be so glamorous and beautiful.

Have the products you use and the way you look after your skin changed since becoming a fashion and beauty icon?

Some things have changed just because i have been exposed to more brands and products. But some things don’t ever change. If you find a product you love that works i always feel there is no reason to change for the sake of what is new and hot. There are few cleansers that can rival Cetaphil in terms of being gentle, removing all makeup and being effective.

Did The Hills girls ever share beauty tips with each other?

Girls will be girls and i think it is natural for friends to share tricks and tips

Do you keeping touch with any of your co stars?

I live with Lo and i keep in touch with a lot of my co stars when schedules permit

 When do you feel most beautiful?

The sun isn’t good for you in excess but in moderation it can be a great way to get the blood flowing, get some vitamin D and really feel alive and healthy. So while i always advocate sunscreen and hats i do feel a little bit of outdoors is a good thing and that is when i feel most beautiful – when i am outside in fresh air by the ocean

 What is your all time favourite beauty brand and why?

There is no way to choose just one brand. My makeup bag is a mix of everything from Cle de peau to L’oreal to Maybelline to Chanel to Revlon. Honestly there is so much to choose from

Do you have a beauty Icon? If so, who?

My mother and grandmother. They both have such natural beauty

 What was the best piece of beauty advice you have ever been given?

Don’t overdo it. Makeup shouldn’t look like a mask. Let your skin breathe

 What’s next for Lauren Conrad?

I continue to work on my 2 sites, thebeautydepartment.com and laurenconrad.com as well as working on my Kohls line LC Lauren Conrad and i am also launching a specialty line this month called paper crown. In addition, my next series of books will come out in 201.
