TOWIE's Lauren Goodger Talks Tanning

It has been revealed today that TOWIE's Lauren Goodger is set to leave the show that launched her career.

Oh Shut Up!

Lauren and the original TOWIE cast members

But there's more!

It's been rumoured that Lauren is planning to join the next series of Dancing On Ice when it begins in January!

Yay!

I caught up with Lauren before the announcement to talk beauty and tanning.

What made you decide to create a fake tan range?

I have always wanted to have my own business and coming from Essex, I find it important to look and feel good. In this way, I have an affinity with the beauty and tanning industry.

Fake tan is a perfect product for me, TOWIE is the perfect platform and the time was right

How involved were you in creating and designing the range?

I was completely involved and I work very closely with my business partner

What is your favourite item from the collection?

I love the Self Tan Mousse (£17.95) as it is so easy to apply, especially if you use our tanning mitt.

The instant colour means you can get a quick fix instantly and then it develops into a fab long wearing colour too

What does your TOWIE mates think of your range? Do they use any of your products?

They love it! And yes, many of the girls on the show wear it

What’s in your make up bag today?

I always carry a lip gloss with me and a set of fake lashes!

When do you feel most beautiful?

When I have a tan! A tan is such a confidence boost. My skin looks smoother, my body leaner and it just makes you feel good.

The whites of your eyes and your teeth look brighter, so It’s a win-win situation

Has your perception of ‘beauty’ changed since becoming a celebrity?

Not really as I have always loved trying out the latest beauty products and it is so exciting to now be part of the beauty industry.

I do look after myself and feel that it is important to look and feel good outside and in

You’ve been given a lot of stick in the press about your figure.  How do you stop yourself from getting down about it?

There is always going to be pressure from the media about weight and body shape, but you have just got to learn to let it go over your head and for it not to affect you and get you down.

I am healthy, I go to the gym about 3 times a week but I am also a great believer in life balance

What Make up brands do you love?

MAC and Dior

Do you have a beauty Icon?

I think Cheryl Cole is beautiful and a real icon

Do you ever feel comfortable to be seen out completely bare faced and make up free?

Yes I never wear make up when I am lounging around at home or at the gym or even sunbathing on holiday

Lauren reveal her 'Natural Beauty' without her make up
Have you ever had a beauty disaster?

When I was younger I had several fake tan disasters, which is why I wanted Lauren’s Way to be a streak free formula and also odourless as I hate the smell associated with tanning products

What was the best beauty advice you have ever been given?

Always exfoliate and apply moisturiser to dry areas before applying your tan.

Keep a look out for my Prepare to Party Glam Tan Kit(£36.95) which includes a body polish and tan enhancing moisturiser.

Eva Mendes, Angel & Her Beauty Secrets

You may remember that back in October last year I brought you the news that that Thierry Mugler had created a new Angel Eau de Toilette and introduced the gorgeous Eva Mendes as the new face of his fragrance.

(Read here)

Well, today I bring you an exclusive interview with the lady herself, Miss Eva Mendes and find out a little about how she feels to become the face of Angel and take an in depth look into her beauty secrets, rules, tips and tricks!

How did it feel to become the new face of Thierry Mugler’s Angel?

It is very flattering to be asked to be the muse for a fragrance, especially for a classic like Angel.
Angel is the embodiment of the true femme fatale. The Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette are alternately casual and sensual, a duality that lies in each of us.

How and where do you apply fragrance?

One of the many things I love about Angel is that there is now an Eau de Parfum and an Eau de Toilette.  They are different, but still very complementary and can evoke any mood for different activities or time of day.  The eau de toilette is ideal for daytime and casual, light moments, while the perfume suits the sophistication of a dinner, a romantic evening or a red carpet. I never leave home without perfume.
Angel Eau de Toilette, Refillable 80ml £65

What products would we find in your make-up bag/bathroom?

·         I love the Angel scrub, because the parts are very small and feel very soft to the skin.
·         Lucas Papaw ointment
·         Laura Mercier Secret Concealer

Angel Exfoliating Scrub
 ·         My mother always puts baby powder on her hair to absorb the oil. I always go back to baby powder.

·         I couldn’t live without my Angel scent and MAC lip pencil in Spice they are always in my make-up bag

You’re known for your golden, glowy skin. What are your secrets? Do you think genes play an important part?

I take omega-3 supplements and I drink water with lemon and chlorophyll. I also protect my skin from the sun each time I go out even when it is not very sunny, using a moisturizer with SPF.

What body products do you use?

Angel Perfuming Body Crème
Angel Perfuming Body Creme, 200ml £45.50

Would you say your beauty routine is high or low maintenance? Please explain why.

I’m not one of those actresses who say they don’t have to work at it.  Even if it’s true, don’t say it, there are so many people who struggle.  It’s so important to know and understand your body size and shape and just appreciate what you’ve got.  We all have pluses and minuses - it’s about ignoring those minuses if there is nothing you can do about them and playing up to those pluses.

Eva's Top Beauty Rules

Enjoy being a woman
It is so nice to be a woman; you can be whoever you want, dress however you want – pants or dresses… You can be either casual or very sophisticated; it is nice to enjoy the many facets of our personality depending the time and the place. I feel blessed to be a modern woman

Smile
I laugh a lot! It enlightens my day like nothing else… It is sometimes difficult but it changes life and the way people come to you. It is also important to take a little time to take care of yourself, doing things you are not used to doing because of the crazy schedule - rest and enjoy living.

Drink a lot of water
Water really is the best product for the skin and I can really see the results on mine since I drink a glass of water with squeezed lemon juice in it before I go to bed and after I wake up.

Never go out without perfume
I spray my perfume, Angel by Thierry Mugler, in front of me to create à cloud I can walk in and that is a fantastic way to be lightly but surely surrounded by the scent. Of course it is important to leave a trace behind you when you exit a room but I never forget that I should be the first one enjoying my fragrance!
The Original Angel Eau de Parfam Star, 50ml £56.50
I also dab it in the inner side of my wrists, elbows, knees… every parts of my body that are constantly in motion, so that each time you make a move my fragrance is spread.
And with Angel, I particularly like to switch from the Eau de Toilette to the Eau de Parfum depending the time of the day or the occasion…

Walk
I really need to walk very often so I usually go hiking with my dog on the Hollywood hills. Walking actively is the best way to stay in good shape – it strengthens your whole body while no efforts are done.

Exfoliate your skin
After a long walk or a sport session, I like to chill in my bathroom and that is the perfect moment to exfoliate my skin. I love to have a soft touch so I use a lot of Angel Scrub, its parts are very gentle and it leaves a delicate scent on your skin that you don’t even need to put your perfume on!

Highlight your assets
To feel sexy, I love to put a little glitter just in the right place: on the cheeks, the cleavage or the hollow of my shoulder, to highlight it.

Liv Tyler, Pantene & Inside her Make Up Bag!

Liv Tyler is one of those celebs that just has ‘It’.

The otherworldly, almost impossibly beautiful looks and such incredible talent that set her apart from so many of her peers.

Since I saw her in Armageddon back in 1998, I have been captivated by her beauty, and so has the world it seems, seeing her become the face of Givenchy fragrances and cosmetics and now, the new face of Pantene.

As you can imagine, I was desperate to speak to the lady herself about her beauty secrets, in the hope that she would reveal the secret to her flawless skin and luscious locks.

Here’s what she said.

Liv, what made you decide to work with Pantene?

I did a Pantene ad back in 1996 when I was 19!  I’ve tried lots of different hair care brands over the years, however Pantene is my favourite as it always leaves my hair looking and feeling really healthy

Liv aged 19 in her first Pantene Advert

Which Pantene product is your favourite?

The NEW Pantene Pro-V Normal to Thick Split End Serum is my absolute ‘must-have’ beauty product!

What do you have in your make up bag today?

What was the best piece of beauty advice you have ever been given?

The best hair care secret I’ve been given is, don’t stop caring for your hair once you’ve washed it.  Always use after care products such as heat defence sprays and split end serums.

What does ‘Beauty’ mean to you?

Beauty is beautiful healthy hair that’s smooth, that shines, looks full and has some bounce when you walk.

Well it seems that Liv really rates Pantene, but what do you think of the range of products? Are you a fan? Do they give you silky, glossy hair like Liv?

A Very Royal Beauty

In case you hadn’t noticed, I work really hard to try and bring you fab interviews with great celebs.

I’m not afraid of a challenge and I always think ‘what’s the harm in asking’ when I think of a really great personality to interview.

To say I aim high would be true, but unless you ask you’ll never know.

Which is why I’m posting this item.

In a nutshell, I asked Her Royal Highness Princess Catherine Middleton, if she would like to participate in a Q&A with me about her beauty secrets.

Yes, I really did.

Well, you never know, she might be a huge beauty fanatic and love talking about it, so I sent her a letter in August to ask.

On Friday, I got a reply.

It turns out that Her Royal Highness receives a lot of letters, is incredibly busy and is unable to reply personally.

Who’d have thought it!     ;-)

It also turns out that Mrs Claudia Holloway makes more grammatical mistakes than me!

Still, at least you know I’m on the case, aiming high and trying my best to bring you fabulous interviews whenever I can!

TOWIE's Lydia Bright talks Beauty

Lydia Bright is one half of the much loved TOWIE couple Lyd and Arg.

The nation has taken them into their hearts and when they’re not entertaining us on screen with their on/off romance and foray into ‘parenthood’ with their not-so-micro pig Darcy, Lydia is dazzling us with her beauty and fashion sense in numerous TV and Magazine appearances.

Ahead of the launch of season 3 next week, I caught up with the gorgeous Ms Bright to grill her about things all beauty.

What is your all time favourite beauty brand Lydia?

My favourite beauty brand is Mac they have such a wide range of make up that is so professional and used by many make up artists. The results create a flawless coverage that doesn't looked caked on.

Who is your beauty Icon?

A typical beauty icon would be Marilyn Monroe I love the seductive, feminine look of big red lips and fishtail eyeliner. I think it is a great way to glam up any look. A modern day beauty icon would be Abbey Clancy, her skin always looks effortless and she achieves the smoky eye look perfectly.

Lydia with her TOWIE co stars, Amy, Lauren and Sam

What is your favourite make up item?

My favourite make up item would be my eyelashes (mascara).  It really brighten up my face and I feel like a zombie without it.

Do you have a favourite beauty look?

My favourite beauty look would be smoky, oriental, fishtail eyes. They create a really sexy vamp look.

Do you find yourself influenced by the latest beauty and make up trends, or do you prefer to make your own?

I would say I prefer my own I play it very safe with my make up and stick to what suits me best. I usually stick to a natural clean base, smoky our neutral eyes and neutral or red lips.

If you were stranded on a desert island, which 1 beauty item would you miss the most and why?

If I was stranded on a desert island I would miss the most my moisturiser the most. I apply cream to my body and face twice a day as I love soft flawless skin.

Lydia with the loveable Arg
What skincare, cosmetics and hair care item could you not live without?

I could not live without Decleor creams, MAC make-up, Eylure lashes and Moroccanoil shampoo and hair masks.

Can you share with us one of your trade secret beauty tips?

When you have applied lipstick leave to dry for 30 seconds then cover your lips with a tissue and blot over with loose blotting powder to help lock in the colour.

Have you ever had a make up/ beauty disaster? What happened?

My biggest make up disaster was when I appeared in my first ever episode on 'the only way is Essex.' The party was 80's themed so I had huge lashes, lots of gold shimmer and lashings of lip liner. Although when I watched it back I looked more like a drag queen then an 80's party girl.

Lydia is a fellow blogger and you can catch up on her  blog, The Runway Towards the Glamorous Spotlights here.
