Yes, I am a huge fan of the gourmand, soft, musky original but there’s something about this light-hearted and radiant edition that I just adore almost as much as the original.

Fans of sweet smelling scents will be pleased as while it is categorised as a ‘fresh’ scent, it holds on to its wonderfully sweet experience thanks to its combination of luscious, juicy notes.

 

Angel Nova bursts into life with addictively sweet and juicy top notes of fresh, plump raspberries paired with exotic lychee.

Heart notes of sophisticated, sumptuous damask rose swirl into life, creating a soft, romantic element before base notes of soft, creamy vanilla-esque benzoin pairs with akigalawood to create a wonderfully sensual, comforting tone so associated with Mugler’s fragrances.

 

 While damask rose is a fairly common component in feminine scents, Mugler’s rose note actually makes this perfume pretty unique as it has been produced in a special, environmentally friendly manner using the process of upcycling.

Using a biotechnological innovation, the rose aroma has been created using a double extraction process whereby Mugler reuses distilled petals to reduce waste  while also creating an exclusive and sustainable note.

Thierry Mugler Alien Fusion

 I simply ADORE Thierry Mugler and the fragrances he produces because they are so iconic, daring, eye-catching, captivating, ingenious and transcend anything else thats out there. 

Alien Fusion is the latest creation and it is every bit as daring and decadent, dramatic and flamboyant as its predecessors!

Fusion, as you may expect is a powerful and sensual oriental fragrance.

Inspired by a solar eclipse, this fascinating spicy floral oriental fragrance combines a flamboyant hot scent with an intriguing sensuality.

It is a complex scent lets just say that!

Lets first address the vessel, the bottle, whatever you choose to call it or when it comes to Alien, I like to refer to it as the ‘Gem’, in this case, a Ruby.

Its vibrant and brightly coloured glass is ever so slightly translucent and is coloured with an incandescent red, just like a precious ruby. 

It has been designed this way to represent the way in which the colour of a molten sun spreads a soft light of hope; essentially, the power of an eclipse captured in a bottle.

Bonkers but equally brilliant as far as I’m concerned and the scent itself is exquisite and complex and everything in-between.

The scent gets its name partly from the ‘fusion’ of hot-cold scents within the fragrance, making it a complicated but stunning scent.

There is an interplay of hot and cold contrasts throughout the composition where spicy and fiery meet gentle and sweet.

Top notes of warm ginger and spicy cinnamon fuse together creating a powerful and rich opening before tuberose offers a calming sensuality, eventually giving way to radiant orange blossom, the signature ingredient. It is at this moment that the hot-cold elements collide and create something very special.

The scent rounds off with opulent and iconic white amber which is intensified by the soft, mellow and warm notes of Madagascan Vanilla creating a fragrance which could essentially be a piece of art!

It takes a strong, powerful woman to pull off an Alien scent and Alien Fusion is no different.

Aura by Mugler

Meet Aura, the distinctive new scent from Thierry Mugler.

This fragrance is everything you would expect from the creator of Angel and Alien, from its unique eye catching bottle to its mesmerising scent.

Described as an oriental botanical scent, it is without a doubt one of the most distinctive and original scents I’ve ever tried, leaving it (in my opinion) a very marmite-type scent.

You really will either love it or hate it.

So, much like the fabulous bottles of its predecessors Aura’s bottle is equally impressive and unique.

It is shaped like a heart and is facetted like a glorious emerald gem. It is no coincidence that this shade of green is also the colour of life, luck, hope and intuition as well as the colour of harmony between body, soul and emotions.

While that may all sound a little deep, Aura has been created to capture the essence of botanical freshness and feline sensuality, revealing the aura in every woman.

Comprising of top notes of Rhubarb leaves, mid notes of orange blossom and base notes of bourbon vanilla and wolfwood, Aura features three very distinctive hearts.

Instinctive Heart: This contains the tiger liana plant which is the guiding thread and signature note of the fragrance and features fresh, green, sweet, animalistic and smoky notes.

Botanical Heart: This is a duo of green and floral notes with a blend of rhubarb leaves and orange blossom absolute for an intense freshness.

Animal Heart:  This is the combination of bourbon vanilla absolute and wolfwood, a new silky wood with a sensual texture.

When I first saw Aura I loved it. I adored the design of the emerald heart with what I’d describe as a silver crown adorning the top and I love the way it looks different from every angle.

It feels like a heavy precious gem in your hand and is certainly eye catching!

As for the scent, it is powerful and intoxicating.

I enjoy heady scents but even this was a little too strong for me. It is unlike any other fragrance I’ve ever come across and I’m baffled by how a scent can be so fresh and green yet powerful and heavy!

It’s a complex and original scent which requires a strong, powerful woman to pull it off.

It’s one of those fragrances that I would strongly recommend you try before you buy.

Alien Musc Mysterieux

Alien Musc Mysterieux is the stunning, second creation in the Alien Oriental Collection.

Inspired by the classic oriental scent of Musc, this powerful and unique scent features jasmine and cashmere, the familiar signatures notes of Alien and merges them with white musk, vanilla and spices.

Housed within a seriously eye-catching  and futuristic bottle which has been created to reflect the luxury of white gold, everything about this scent shouts decadence.

The fragrance is said to be “an invitation to travel on a journey that highlights and enhances musk, one of the noblest ingredients in perfumery."

I find this perfume overwhelming, both in terms of its presentation and its powerful scent.

I ADORE its bottle which actually reminds me of a tigers eye crystal thanks to the bottles beautiful shades. This would make sense given that the original Alien scent is housed in an amethyst inspired bottle.

It comes presented beautifully in a silver box which opens to reveal its own red carpet, or rather a purple one, hinting at just how special this perfume is.

Musc Mysterieux is an intoxicating, powerful and heady fragrance.

It is really strong so you do only need to use it sparingly but its scent lasts for hours!

I personally find the initial experience overwhelming but once it has been on my skin for around 30 minutes, I adore its soft, warm and exotic aroma.

The price reflects its unique and provocative powers as it costs £115 for 90ml, but you won’t find another fragrance like it.
