Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Rosé

Juicy Couture’s new Viva La Juicy Rosé fragrance has to be possibly one of the most outrageously gaudy yet gorgeous fragrances I have ever had the sheer pleasure of coming across!

I know you should never judge a fragrance by the bottle, but I mean come on, when the bottle looks like this you’re going to pass a little judgement!

Inspired by the Viva girl’s free spirit and exuberance, Viva La Juicy Rosé offers a fresh twist on the classic scent.

Housed within the iconic Viva La Juicy-style bottle, this bright, pink and sparkily design shimmers with an ombré effect, fading from splashy pink to radiant gold.

It is VERY sparkily and ever so fabulous!

It also features a cute rose-gold champagne bottle charm and translucent hot pink bow, both of which hint at the effervescent and playful scent inside!

As you may have guessed from the bottle, the scent within is a fairly light, playful, bubbly scent and yes it is very girly!

The fragrance opens with the fresh and fruity notes of Italian Mandarin and William Pear, intertwining with soft Jasmine Petals.

At its heart is Rose Centifolia, a honey-like floralcy next to White Peony and Jasmine Sambac.
Base notes of decadent Ambrox ,sensual Orris Absolu and warm Benzoin round the fragrance off perfectly.

I’m not sure exactly what I expected from this fragrance but to be honest I ended up feeling pleasantly surprised by its vibrant yet somehow also quite sophisticated scent.

It’s a perfume that is perfect for the forthcoming summer months, light enough to be worn in the day but would also work really well as an evening scent.

Juicy Couture’s Viva La Juicy Rosé EDP is available now and costs £69 for 100ml or £50 for 50ml.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir Eau de Parfum

I’ve never tried any of the Juicy Couture fragrances before and the only reason I can think of it because of my association of the name ‘Juicy Couture’ to the fashion brand.

This is a brand I’ve never shopped with and perhaps ignorantly, think of as being the ‘posh’ tracksuit company that all the footballer’s wives love to live in, or at least did about 5 years ago.

Anyway, this is all irrelevant now as I have finally sampled one of their fragrances and it’s bright pink, loud, somewhat garish appearances aside, it’s actually really rather nice.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir Eau de Parfum is a new, more seductive interpretation of their original best-selling Viva La Juicy fragrance.

When you first smell the fragrance it’s sweetness can hit you hard and you may find it a little overpowering, but do bare with it.

Its opening notes include wild berries mixed with mandarin and Mara strawberry, making for a very sweet scent, but it doesn’t last too long as at its heart, you will notice honeysuckle, gardenia and jasmine sambac.

Finally, notes of amber, caramel, creamy vanilla and sandalwood  round the perfume off perfectly and as the fragrance has a chance to settle on your skin, it becomes a much more mellow, musky yet sweet fragrance.

Now, I can’t decide whether I love to loathe the packaging. The girly girl part of me thinks it’s brilliant!

It’s bright pink with a diamante esq lid and a satin black bow. VERY Juicy Couture. The other part of me thinks it’s far too over the top, but then it’s a fragrance that is going to get you noticed, so why would it be demurely bottled?

The bottom line is, I actually really rather liked this perfume, and the fragrance lasted for ages.

Juicy Couture’s Viva La Juicy Noir EDP is available now and costs about £55 for 100ml.
