A Note from Marilyn's Sister

I know, I know- This is not beauty related at all, BUT...

In the post today I got something I've been waiting a very long time to receive.
Berneice, Marilyn (center) & their mother Gladys with Mona Rae sat between Marilyn's legs

A handwritten note from Marilyn Monroe's sister Berniece and neice, Mona Rae Miracle.

Berniece Baker Miracle, Marilyn's sister

I wrote to them after I read their book, My Sister Marilyn and they kindly wrote back!

To say I'm thrilled is an understatement!

I can picture Marilyn smliling while reclining on her rainbow as I type.

M.A.C Marilyn Monroe Collection

Ladies, say hello to what could possible be my all time favourite M.A.C collection.

The M·A·C Marilyn Monroe is a colour collection that channels the legend’s lustre and sex appeal in shades and formulas synonymous with the star.

Lipsticks in rapturous reds (£15.50), gleaming Dazzleglass (£18.50), a dramatic 35 Lash (£10), False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara (£18.50) and Eye Shadows in shimmering metallic and diamond tones (£16.50) provide some silver-screen allure for us average lasses.

Nail Lacquers (£11) destined to be a girl’s best friend and a Beauty Powder in sheer pale peach (£23) evoke that flawless Marilyn look.

The M.A.C Marilyn Monroe Collection is available for a limited time online only from October 2012.

The Eternally Exquisite Marilyn Monroe

Today, id like to treat you to some images of a young, beautiful 24 year old Marilyn Monroe.

These photographs were taken by LIFE photographer Ed Clark and were shot in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park in the August of 1950.

These photos haven’t seen the light of day for over 50 years, but today, here they are for you to enjoy.

(Above) This is my favourite one, she looks so relaxed, happy and hopeful.

Ed Clark revealed in a 1999 interview with Digital Journal;

‘We’d go out to Griffith Park and she’d read poetry. I send several rolls to LIFE in New York, but they wired back, “Who the hell is Marilyn Monroe?’’’

You can read about Marilyn's beauty secrets here.
