Dr Organic Organic Snail Gel Gift Set

Give the gift of beautiful skin this Christmas with Dr Organic’s Organic Snail Gel Gift Set (£25).

This elegant gift set features a chic toiletries bag and hidden within you’ll two anti-ageing skincare hero’s.

Dr Organic’s Snail collection has been formulated with as you may expect, snail gel which is a complex secretion (Helix Aspersa Muller) rich in healthy-ageing properties along with glycolic acid, collagen and elastin that snails produce to help regenerate and protect their shells and skin if they get damaged.

These elements are key to rejuvenating and protecting your skin against a host of skin aggressors while simultaneously offering anti-ageing qualities by reducing the appearance of fine lines for skin that radiates health.

The set offers a two pronged attack on ageing with the inclusion of both the Snail Gel Facial Serum and the Snail Gel Cream.

Begin your routine post cleansing with the serum.

The lightweight, silky, milky coloured serum features a blend of bioactives and natural ingredients including Olive Leaf Extract, Levan and Jujube Seed Extract.

Containing snail secretion filtrate, rose fruit oil and avocado oil, it offers a deeply nourishing, softening experience.

It possesses a wonderfully soft, refreshishing aroma which mirrors its light, featherlight texture.

Despite this lightness, it manages to effortlessly quench dry skin and leave your complexion feeling toned, soft and perfectly primed for your moisturser.

The anti-ageing Snail Gel Cream features the same elegant scent as the serum but offers superior, long-lasting hydrating to your skin.

Decadently rich to the point where you can see peaks in the cream, it is wonderfully thick and creamy but without feeling greasy or oily.

It too has been enriched with Helix Aspera Muller secretions along with beeswax and sweet almond oil to offer a beautifully nourishing cream that leaves your skin feeling soft, firm and hydrated.

Suitable for vegetarians and aimed at anyone looking to supercharge their anti-ageing regime, it is the perfect skincare duo.

Dr Organic’s Organic Snail Gel Gift Set is available now and costs £25 which is a bargain considering the serum usually retails at £18.99 alone.

FRUU Cosmetics

My name is Sarah and I’m a lip balm addict.

My addiction is so extreme that I’ve passed this vice onto my two children who also absolutely love a lip balm too!

Doh!

Clearly, there are way worse things to be addicted to but even lip balms can be un-sustainable and harmful to the environment.

This is where my new favourite brand comes in!

FRUU is an Indie cosmetics company who are obsessed with turning fruit waste and by products into earth friendly, vegan skin products.

Their products are made up of ingredients extracted and derived from more than 15 different types of nutrient rich fruits. In fact, they’re create with more than 60% fruit content!

100% bio-degradable and organic, the majority of the ingredients are produced as a by-product of processed fruit waste which would otherwise be discarded, resulting in vital extra revenue for small fruit farmers.

FRUU believe that “If you can't afford to buy it, it is not sustainable!", so they strive to use the most responsibly-sourced ingredients possible to offer guilt-free, sustainable living at an affordable price point.

No Bee products and no petroleum feature in their products and their Fruitilicious Lip Balms (£3) are simply out of this world.

Available in 10 mouth-watering scents, these wonderfully cute little sticks of pure joy smell good enough to eat!

Whatever you adore sweet, sugary scents or refreshing citrus notes there’s a balm for you!

The collection comprises of the following balms;

Avocado
Strawberry
Pomegranate
Watermelon
Pineapple
Lemon
Lime
Cherry
Coconut
Mango

As you know I’m all about the sweet so I gravitated towards the Pineapple and Watermelon balm instantly!

Each balm is formulated with very similar natural, fruity skin loving ingredients including Aloe Vera to calm and hydrate and Vitamin E to combat free radicals and pollutants.

Allergen free and suitable for sensitive skin, each balm creates a soft, matte finish paired with a silky smooth, buttery texture.

Deeply nourishing yet non greasy or claggy, the balm glides across your lips imparting a splash of fruity hydration to dry, parched lips.

Lightweight yet with decent longevity, lips are left feeling soft and comforted long after application while you also get treated to a deliciously fresh and fruity sensory experience.

I love the tropical and exotic, true-to-life scents that they offer and my children do too- my son is a big fan of the Cherry balm which contains enriching cherry kernel oil and coconut oil.

Pineapple is one of my favourite go-to balms and contains Pineapple to gently exfoliate and remove dead skin, while the refreshing Watermelon balm contains luscious and nourishing Watermelon seed oil and coconut oil.

Fabulous and Fruity balms aren’t all they have to offer, they also produce tinted balms in the form of their Colour Balm (£5).

Available in 8 pretty, wearable shades these balms bridge the gap between drying lipsticks and soothing balms.

Like the Fruitilicious balms these beauties feature a matte finish, paired with a hit of colour.

Enriched with nourishing watermelon and coconut oil along with soothing aloe and banana extract,  these delicious balms offer a rich colour payoff combined with all the moisturising properties of a balm so you can enjoy a highly pigmented lip that feels comfortable all day long.

Peta approved, vegan and cruelty-free and containing no carmine, lanolin or beeswax, these balms are something else.

They’re something very special.

Pure Coconut Oil

Before you say anything, i know that this doesn’t look quite as exciting, pretty or fabulous as some of the products I’ve reviewed before, but bare with me.

Allow me to introduce you to something called Pure Coconut Oil from Holland and Barrett.

I mentioned this multi purpose item a few months back when it came to light that supermodel Miranda Kerr eats 4 tablespoon's of this oil every day to help maintain her glossy hair and luminous skin.

But, did you know this item can be used in other ways?

For example, it makes an incredible, 100% pure and natural moisturiser.

Granted it’s not much to look at and when stored in a cool place, the oil actually becomes fairly solid. It is white and pearly in colour, hard to touch and looks neither like it would make a decent moisturiser or a tasty supplement.

The oil in semi solid form

When warmed between the palms of your hand however, it is transformed in to a warm, oily liquid which is perfect for moisturing dry skin.

I love warming the oil up in my hands, massaging it into my skin and enjoying the delicate, sweet aroma of coconut that envelops you as it skins into your skin leaving it silky smooth.

See how it melts into a gorgeous oil

The oily texture quickly melts away leaving your skin supple and smooth without a hint of grease.

Im still not sold on the concept of ingesting it, but it has now become a much loved staple in my beauty regime.

Pure Coconut Oil is available from Holland and Barrett and costs £14.99 for a big tub.

Crystal Clear Skin

Like most teenagers I was regularly cursed with spots, most of which would chose to erupt right before a big party, date or event, which as you can imagine, was most inconvenient. Even now, from time to time I find myself feeling the familiar tingling sensation under my skin and sit back in the knowledge that in a day or two, mount Everest the second will have appeared on my face.
I know that eating well, staying healthy and having a decent skin cleansing regime goes a long way towards helping, as well as using antibiotics- be it only in extreme circumstances. The majority of the products out there for problem skin are topical lotions and potions which when applied to the skin help to cleanse, tone, reduce oil and grease and aim to keep your skin clean. I have even referred to a product which you can use to target spots once they have developed here- but there are not many products on the market to try and help with the problem from within.
Now allow me to introduce you to help:clear skin
Now there is a solution from natural supplements company Works with Water Nutraceuticals that promises to clear skin from the inside out in 6 weeks.
help: clear skin is a 100% natural and clinically proven skin supplement that treats the skin
gently from the inside out to clear spots, rather than using harsh ingredients direct on to sensitive skin.
Help:clear skin is a powdered product which you mix with a drink or soft food, take twice a day for a minimum of 6 weeks and is clinically proven to help clear skin, spots, acne, blemishes and oily skin.
The key ingredient they use is something called Praventin, which has been proven to help achieve a clearer complexion by enhancing the body’s natural defenses. It limits the growth of acne bacteria, reduces the blemishes associated with acne and assists in the repair of damaged skin cells caused by blemishes.
It sounds great in theory, but does it actually work? Well, the company has a gallery on its facebook page of before and after photos to help back up their claim.
Have you tried help:clear skin? Id love to hear from you and hear about your results if you have.
Help:clear skin is available now from Boots, Waitrose and Holland & Barrett stores and online at ocado.com, and www.workswithwater.co.uk, priced at £9.99 and £38.96 for a week’s or month’s supply (month’s supply only available via website).
