 I simply adore brands that combine the staying, beautifying power of make up with all the benefits of skincare and it Cosmetics is a brand that has absolutely nailed this combination.

A current favourite of mine that works in just this way is their CC+ Oil-free Matte with SPF40 Cream.

An oil free version of their hero product, this decadent CC cream (which stands for complexion correction in case you were wondering) offers a full-coverage, matte finish, contains an impressive SPF 40 PLUS has been infused with a host of anti-ageing, skin loving ingredients to improve your skins health.

This multitasking must-have works to reduce the appearance of pores and imperfections, reduces redness and creates a flawless matte finish without creasing, cracking or fading.

Oh, and if that wasn’t enough it also helps to reduce shine and control oil production.

 

 

 The rich, creamy formula features hydrolzed collagen to support elasticity and encourage a youthful, smooth appearance, Peptides to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and Charcoal plus colloidal and Moroccan lava clay which absorbs excess oils and impurities thus reducing the look of pores.

This ability to control shine is long lasting too as I found myself needing to powder my t-zone far less frequently that I would need to with a traditional foundation.

It feels light and breathable on your skin and while it offers great coverage it doesn’t feel heavy or clogging. It also doesn’t feel or look cakey and stays put for hours after application.

I love using this knowing that it hasn’t just breathed life back in to my face, but that it is also working to actively look after, protect and support my skin too.

 

 

Despite its matte appearance and oil-free formula, it is actually really hydrating and I feel that this quality is what helps it to not flake or look cakey over time.

My skin feels soft and looks brighter and healthier as soon as I’ve used it.

I’m not sure I could ask for much more in a CC Cream!

Resultime Multi-Corrective CC Cream

Now that I’m in my thirties (eek!) I’m becoming more and more concerned with my skins ageing and therefore am trying my best to look after it as well as I can to prevent and delay any further premature ageing.

I find myself looking for not just skincare products that can help me with these concerns but with cosmetics too, I mean, every little helps right!

 I was recently introduced to a brand called Resultime, a results-driven, sophisticated skincare brand, offering a complete salon treatment range and homecare line that specialises in anti-ageing.

After hearing that a certain Ms Michelle Keegan was a fan of the brand, and in particular one of their products I kind of figured hell, if it’s good enough for her then I need to try this for myself.

I was introduced to their Multi-Corrective CC Cream. Available in two shades, Natural (the one I tried) and Golden, this tinted anti-ageing cream is meant to help give you an amazing complexion.

 The multi tasking cream is said to help even skin tone, refine the skin’s texture, tighten pores, and protect against UVA & UVB. It is also meant to hydrate, nourish, fight pigmentation, combat wrinkles, reduce redness and cover imperfections while offering long lasting colour correction.

Blimey! That’s a heck of a list of benefits, but what is it really like?

Well, I was slightly concerned when I first applied it as despite opting for the lighter ‘natural’ shade, it was still quite orange and deep in tone. It also felt quite heavy and thick, not what I expected from a CC cream.

That said, once I had massaged it thoroughly into my skin my worries quickly disappeared, as did the orangey tone thankfully.

Despite its outwardly thick appearance and texture, it was deceptively light when massaged into my face and all but disappeared, blending in perfectly and leaving my face feeling fresh and light, not at all heavy or clogged.

In fact, It didn’t feel like I was wearing anything on my skin at all which I LOVED.

The cream itself has a very delicate scent which I would liken to that of a gentle suncream, which I really liked as it is fresh and reminds me of sunnier days!

I would say that it does leave you with quite a sheer coverage, which for me is perfect but if you are after a little more then that’s no problem as you can build it to create your desired look.

I actually found that I didn’t need my usual powder to combat my oily T-Zone until much later in the day when wearing the cream and my skin certainly looked far fresher, more awake and radiant than it had prior to application!

I think I’d need to use this daily, long term to see any huge benefits in terms of its ability to help combat wrinkles etc, but otherwise I’m really impressed.

The bags and discolouration around my eyes was much improved and despite only having several hours sleep due to a nasty sinus infection, I actually looked pretty fresh and healthy which is no mean feat!

Now, this is not the cheapest CC cream on the market at £35.50 a tube, HOWEVER if you suffer with multiple skin concerns and want to invest in a product that will not just help to conceal these issues but to improve them too, then I urge you to give this cream a try.

Clinique New Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF 30 Hydrating Colour Corrector

You’ve all heard of and no doubt tried BB creams by now, but what about CC creams?

CC creams are marketed as ‘Complexion’ or ‘Colour’ corrector creams and in my opinion, are perhaps more suited to an older audience with skin concerns such as redness, sallowness and dullness.

Designed to be worn alone or under your regular foundation, this oil free, SPF30 CC cream from Clinique is suitable for all skin types and comes in a wide range of shades, 9 to be precise.

Very Light, Light, Light Medium, Medium, Medium Deep, Deep, Natural Fair, Natural and Fresh Peach in case you were wondering!

Now, the first thing I’ll say is choose your shade carefully. I opted for ‘light’ but as you’ll be able to see from my swatches, even Light is slightly too dark for my very pasty, pale skin tone.

I realise I don’t want to go UBER light and end up looking deathly pale, but at the same time I’m not a big fan of the ‘orange’ look either!

You may or may not be able to tell, but the formula is actually fairly thick in consistency when applied to the skin, and a little goes a long way!

I actually swatched far too much and ended up needing to spread it out half way up my arm, so be warned.

Lightly blended

I found it relatively easy to blend into my skin, but would recommend that you moisturise well before hand as it the finish is quite matte, and if you are prone to dry skin you may find a little to dry.

Despite the initial thickness of the cream, it actually blended away really easily, giving a very light coverage, perfect if you just wanted a hint of cover, but is unlikely to be enough if you’re a fan of a fuller look.

Fully Blended

My skin is both sensitive and oily and this CC cream worked well with my skin, leaving it matte and soft without being overly drying, though I did chose to use a foundation over the top for a little more coverage.

Now, I don’t tend to suffer with sallow or redness in my complexion, but like everyone, am not immune to tired, dull looking skin.

I would say that the cream gave my skin somewhat of a ‘lift’ and I loved that it wasn’t oily or greasy, unlike some of the BB creams I’ve tried which proved too heavy for my skin, so for me, Clinique’s new CC cream was a winner.
