Sister & Co. Skin Food

If like me you are a lover of natural skin and body care products then you need to become acquainted with a brand called Sister & Co. Skin Food.

Created by Sophie Thompson the brand was developed as a result of her hunt for the purest and most potent raw coconut oil for use as a skin treatment.

After launching her debut product (a cold pressed organic coconut oil) she found herself becoming passionate about the ability of food-grade, nutrient-rich natural ingredients in their raw and undiluted state when vitamins, minerals and nutrients are fully intact, to heal and nourish your body on the outside as well as the inside.

From this, her unique collection of natural skin and body care products was born.

Sister & Co Skin Food products are made with the finest skin superfoods from around the world and use an array of organic cold-pressed plant oils, raw nut butters and milks, sugars, salts, clays, waxes and pure essential oils.

They don't use any chemical preservatives or fillers, synthetic fragrances or toxins to artificially alter the texture, smell or colour of our products.

Sounds impressive right? You can imagine how delighted I was then to have the opportunity to sample two fabulous items from her collection.

Packaged simply yet super stylishly in glass resembling a milk bottle, this fine, fragrant powder features a luxurious blend of softening almond milk, detoxifying kaolin clay and relaxing black cardamom to provide you with the most sumptuous bathing experience.

Poured under warm running water, watch as your bath water transforms into a milky white hue and wait for the aromatic scent of cardamom to envelop your senses and relax both your body and mind.

Sit back and enjoy a deeply comforting bath and if you’re in need of a little exfoliation, simply massage some of the powder into your skin with damp fingertips before rinsing off.

The bath soak is brilliant at revitalising your skin and leaving it feeling soft and nourished without any dryness.

It is a really beautiful product.

Once you’ve enjoyed your luxurious bath treat your skin once more with their Apricot, Lemon and Vanilla Body Melt (£26).

Banish dry skin forever with this rich, hydrating and sumptuous body balm with combines cold pressed raw apricot and almond oil with premium grade shea butter.

The balm is infused with beautiful and delicate Sicilian lemon and sweet Madagascan vanilla so it really does smell just as amazing as it sounds, but it’s not just a pleasant smelling moisturiser.

Rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins A, B and E the balm is 100% natural, organic and vegetarian, gluten and dairy free.

This balm is a really gorgeous product. Super rich in texture it needs to be warmed by your finger tips for gentle application but when warmed it glides onto your skin leaving it feeling soft, supple and hydrated.

Once absorbed it is non oily, non greasy and all you’re left with is a gorgeous, delicate sweet fruity scent.

It may look like rather a small pot but believe me when I say a little goes a long way and its worked wonders on my eczema prone skin.

I am really impressed with the two products I have tried from Sister & Co. Skin Food and can’t wait to explore more of the collection.

You can get your hands on Sister & CO. Skin Food products from ASOS, Feelunique or directly from their website.

Arran Aromatics Feel Good Formulas Lavender and Black Pepper Mineral Muscle Soak

Recently I’ve found myself becoming a huge fan of bath salts and oils as opposed to bubble baths.

This is in part due to my battle with eczema, which can flare up with some bubbly products but It also makes me feel quite grown up and sophisticated when I use bath salts and oils! Don’t ask me why, I’m weird like that!

One product that I’m really enjoying right now is from a Scottish brand called Arran Aromatics.

Founded by a lady called Jane Russell (Probably NOT the Hollywood Golden era movie star) and her husband Iain in the kitchen of their cottage on the Isle of Arran, they started their brand making soaps and body creams infused with original fragrances inspired by the landscape and scents of the Island.

It is their Feel Good Formulas Lavender and Black Pepper Mineral Muscle Soak that I’ve found myself turning to when I feel in need of a really pampering bath!

The soak contains a blend of cleansing, healing and exfoliating sea salt that is packed with essential oils of Lavender and Black Pepper.

The smell when you open the lid is powerful and beautiful, but obviously you’ll need to like the scent of Lavender to enjoy this.

I chuck a handful of the aromatic salt crystals into a bath of warm running water and wait for them to dissolve before sinking into a beautifully relaxing bathing experience.

The healing and detoxifying sea salt helps to soothe tired limbs and relax muscles while the lavender oil and black pepper create a really relaxing, blissful scent that envelops your entire bathroom.

It’s a great product to use to wind down of an evening and the lavender helps you to sleep too which is always good.

I’m not a huge fan of the little lavender seeds that float in the bath and get annoyingly stuck to you, then your towel when you get out but I appreciate why they are there and it does create the illusion of a more ‘spa-like’ experience.

The Arran Aromatics Feel Good Formulas Lavender and Black Pepper Mineral Muscle Soak comes in a really cool glass jar and for just £9 is pretty much a great bargain.

You can get your bath soak and see the rest of the range on the Arran Aromatics website.

Botanicals Himalayan Rose Mineral Bath Soak

This week I had the pleasure of trying an award winning product from Botanicals.

In case you haven’t heard of them, Botanicals is a multi-award-winning natural organic skincare brand from Leicestershire, which uses the pure power of plants to bring beauty, health and wellbeing to skin and which is certified by The Soil Association.

This pot of pure bliss is their Himalayan Rose Mineral Bath Soak (£24.95 for 450g) and It has just won a Bronze Award in the Best Bath Treat category of The Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards 2015.

Sometimes I’m just not in the mood for a frothy, oily or creamy bath and crave something with a little more substance and this is where this soak comes in.

The Himalayan Rose Mineral Bath Soak is beautifully packaged in Botanicals signature apothecary style designs and smells UH-MAZING!

Immediately your senses are treated to an uplifting and relaxing experience thanks to the blend of organic essential oils including wild rose, rose geranium, palmarosa, ylang ylans and lavender. Mnnn the lavender!

When poured into a warm running bath, the pretty pink rock crystals slowly disappear, infusing with the water and leaving your bath smelling amazingly inviting.

This bath soak is so much more than just a lovely smelling bathing product though.

Thanks to the amazing properties of the Pink Himalayan rock crystal, which contain 84 essential minerals, skin is revitalised and tired muscles are left feeling relaxed and revived. This combined with the healing properties of the Dead Sea mineral salts your body is treated to the most healing and soothing bath you’ve probably ever had.

Yes, at £24.95 it’s not the cheapest bath soak you’ve ever come across, but for a once a week treat, it’s well worth the investment.

You can get your hands on your own Botanicals Himalayan Rose Mineral Bath Soak from their website now.
