Macadamia Professional Hair

Two products that I’m currently using and credit for making my hair lovely and soft, shiny and smelling out of this world are from a brand called Macadamia Professional.

If you’ve not heard of them before, Macadamia Professional™ products contain something that they call a ‘Pro Oil Complex’ which is basically a blend of Macadamia and Argan oils, rich in Omega 7, 5, 3 and 9 fatty acids.

To give you a bit more info on these ingredients, Macadamia Oil contains the highest amount of Omega 7 than any other nut oil. Omega 7 most closely resembles human hair sebum and thus mimics scalp’s natural oil production to provide nourishment and moisturization with exceptional absorption and penetration from the inside out. 

Omega 7 is exceptionally lightweight and non-greasy with no buildup, which makes it ideal for all hair textures, from the finest to the coarsest hair. Argan Oil is a rich oil filled with Omega 9, antioxidants and Vitamin E, which improves hair strength, renews damage and restores shine and softness to dry, brittle hair while reducing frizz and fly-aways.

Essentially, their line of hard working products work in a similar way to makeup that has skincare benefits; they help you to look beautiful while looking after your hair.

Two of their products that I LOVE are their Anti Humidify Finishing Spray (£18.95) and their  Flex Hold Shaping Hairspray (£18.25).

Designed to be used on a finished style, their Anti-Humidify Finishing Spray contains a water resistant film-forming barrier that protects the hair from weather and humidity while the hair loving Macadamia Oil, Argan Oil and Vitamin E help to keep your hair feeling soft and nourished all day long.

Spritzed liberally over your dry hair it helps to lock in your style and lock out the elements! Oh, and it smells DIVINE! It reminds me of a gorgeously soft, fruity sun cream that smells like summer!

The Flex Hold Shaping Hairspray has got to be one of the best hairsprays I’ve ever used, thanks in part to its incredible scent. It reminds me of coconuts and even my husband asked me if I was wearing a new fragrance as apparently I smelt really nice!

This hairspray is designed to be workable, brushable and touchable as you style and finish your hair. It tames flyaway hairs and offers a gorgeous shine without that crispy, crunchy feeling so often associated with hairsprays.

It also doesn’t have that horrid, chemical smell that catches in the back of your throat and leaves you needing to hold your breath when you spray!

I love using these products and love that they are not just helping to keep my hair looking great, but they are also helping to keep it looking and feeling healthy from the inside out.

The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Bath & Bodycare Range

Argan oil is nothing new to the beauty industry.

This nourishing and moisturising oil works wonders on dry skin and hair, rejuvenating it and leaving it smooth, silky and beautiful.

Given that, It’s no surprise to me that The Body Shop have now created an extensive Wild Argan Oil Bath & Bodycare range, and let me tell you, its stunning!

The miracle solid oil is my favourite product and looks like a little pot of gold! It is, as it says, a solid oil which melts against the warmth of your skin.

I love to use a little of this on particularly dry areas of skin, as well as on my split ends! It works a treat and I love its multi purpose uses!

It smells gorgeous, with a scent that stays on your skin and reminds you of warm summer days!

I'm In love with Argan Oil

My hair is absolutely not the type of hair which you would look at and think ‘blimey, that could do with some conditioning or serum to tame it!’. My hair is currently long and absolutely dead straight, though even when cut short it was still exactly the same (see exhibit 1 and 2!)  My hairdresser describes my hair type as glassy- in that the strands are smooth and reflective. 

 That said, just because I don’t need an industrial strength type serum to tame my mane doesn’t mean I don’t want one!  I too want to be able to use a product that will make my hair even silkier!

 

Now allow me to introduce you to Tresemme’s Salon Smooth serum containing  Argan Oil. Argan Oil is an oil from Morocco known for its nourishing and smoothing benefits.  I’d been desperate to try a product containing this oil as I have heard such great things about it. 

I squeezed some of the product out into my hands and noticed immediately how different the texture was to other serums I had tried. This was light, non sticky, and more the texture of oil than a gloopy serum.

I rubbed it into my fingers then pulled my fingers through my hair, concentrating on the tips, then blow dried as usual.

Tresemme claim that the serum helps to calm frizz, instantly smooths and leaves hair soft and healthy looking with a gorgeous shine. It certainly did that- my hair felt light, shiny and very smooth to touch.  

Whether it was the Argan oil or other elements of the products that produced such a positive result I don’t know, but im going to be on the hunt for other products featuring Moroccan oil from now on!
