Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector

I’m probably really late the this party, but I’ve recently discovered and fallen head over heels in love with Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector.

It has the shine of a gloss, the nourishing loveliness of a balm and a delicate hint of natural colour to make your lips look totally beautiful.

Available in 6 subtle shades, I am already on a mission to own them all!

I love the pretty tube which is coloured to reflect the shade within, topped with the signature Clarins gold lid.

Gently squeeze the tube to release the product which is dispensed onto a soft, fluffy tip, a genius idea if you ask me! 

Not only does it feel lovely and soft when applied to my lips but it means you avoid the slippage you may otherwise encounter with plastic application tips.

The gel itself is silky smooth and light in texture, smells amazing and is sheer in colour. The product pictured is Shade 1, Rose Shimmer.

It offers a lovely high shine but without even a hint of stickiness often associated with lip glosses, which I hate.

While delicate in tone, it has just enough colour to be worn alone, or applied over the top of another lip shade to add shine and moisture.

Love bright, vibrant lippies but hate it when they bleed and smudge outside your lip line?

Yeah me too.

Well fear not as I recently discovered the wonder that is The Body Shop’s Lip Line Fixer (£8)

 This creamy, moisturising, retractable pencil helps to fill in the fine lines around your lips to prevent your lippie bleeding.

It’s a very waxy feeling product which is to be used like a lip liner.

 

I apply my lipstick then use this to outline my lips and tidy up any smudges.

It creates an invisible barrier that keeps your lippie in place all day long.

At £8 it is great value and is a must have product for lipstick wearing lovelies everywhere.

Yes I’ll admit it, I love gimmicks and almost always get sucked in to buying a product because of its cute and fancy packaging.

This purchase was no different.

 Say Hello Kitty to this lipstick.

In the shade in Blazin, It’s  a cute, rich, pinky red.

Sophisticated, it is not,  but super cute it is!

Revlon Gloss, Pink to make the boys wink

I am a massive fan of nude lipsticks and gloss’, primarily because I always tend to wear heavy eye makeup and I always try to remember the golden rule- eyes or lips never both. ( The heavy on both look doesn’t look good on me)

That said I couldn’t help but notice Revlon’s glimmering gloss’ when I popped into boots this morning. I was seduced by the pretty Lilac and Pink Ice muted and neutral shade, but then I glanced over at the image of Jessica Alba and noticed her hot pink lips. I really liked them. 

Im not naïve enough to think that just because something looks great on a celebrity means it will look great on me too- ive learnt my lesson many a time with this, often with disastrous consequences, but I decided nevertheless to give it a go.

At £7.99 is a mid-high price range for a gloss, but given its large container im sure it would last a while making it value for money.

The gloss almost has a glittery look to it, though upon application it becomes clear that its not glitter.

It has a lovely long wand with a large rectangular applicator to ensure that it can cover you lips in one smooth sweep- and it does feel smooth going on, lovely and silky, not at all gloopy and sticky.

After

Im not sure id go as far as to agree with the claim that it gives lips 5X more shine than patent leather ( why would you want to compare the shininess of you lips to leather anyway I have no idea) but it certainly perked up my lips and injected a wonderful hue of  colour, something my lips rarely experience!
