STOOSHE!

Stooshe ‘Who she’? I hear you ask.

How very dare you!

Stooshe are the new girl band on the block, but boy are this girl band different!

Fresh from supporting the one and only Nicki Minaj on her UK tour, this trio are the epitome of cool

and their music ‘aint half bad either!

So, what exactly does ‘Stooshe’ mean and what makes these girls tick?

Ladies! How did you come up with the name ‘Stooshe’ and what does it mean?

Well we're from South London where the word 'Stoosh' is used quite often.

We loved the word but didn’t like the meaning (type it into google guys!), so we researched it and found out it also means a lot of other things, like ‘expensive’, ‘hidden away’, ‘a mystery’.... and we loved the contrast of meanings, so we just added the 'she' on the end for girl power :)

How would you describe your fabulous style and sound?

Our style is heavily influenced by Motown, but it is still current and fresh so we call it 'Newtown' lol!

The album is so eclectic and it has a lot of different genres and styles on there as we love to experiment, but there is definitely a running theme of Newtown.

You rock some great looks- have you always had the confidence to look so unique?

Thank you! We have always been quite confident in the way we dress but Stooshe allows us to push all boundaries and have a lot of fun with the fashion world.

We wear bright colours, out there pieces, and we just have fun with it!

We are 3 very different characters, I’m (Karis) very girlie, Court is really quirky and Alex is very glam, and even if we wear the same thing, it looks totally different on all of us because we wear it differently, have totally different hairstyles and make up styles etc.

Alex (top left) Courtney (top right) & Karis (bottom)

How did it feel to work with Gym Class Hero’s star and Katy Perry’s ex, Travie McCoy on your single Love Me?

It was amazing!!! he is so lovely one of the most humble celebs we've met and worked with.

He's a label mate too so it was nice to keep it in the family haha!

Travie with the girls!

Ok, so,  what’s in your make up bag today?

I’ve always got my whole make up bag with me lol! i carry my foundation, my eye products, my HD Brow kit, my glosses, and a nice blush with me too. You never know when you’re going to need a top up!

The girls with Nicki Minaj

Can you share with us one of your top secret beauty tips?

Everyone gets tired and in this business you don’t get a lot of sleep so we have little tricks to keep us looking awake!

I use a light concealer under my eye to get rid of any bags, then I use a metallic gold eye shadow in the inside corners of my eyes to make them look a bit more open. I love it!

What Make up brands do you love?

I love MAC, I use a lot of their products and I have done for years.

I also love my HD brow eyebrow palette,

Do you have a beauty Icon?

I love Lana del Rey and Marilyn Monroe, i love their make-up style its very old school and girlie and they use a lot of contour which I love!

What was the best beauty advice you have ever been given?

My make- up artist always tells me to look after my skin and it’s important to prep your skin for make up by using a good face cream and primer.

You may not think it but it makes a big difference.

Black Heart by StooShe is currently number 4 in the iTunes chart and their debut album is set to be released in September this year!

I Am Fabulicious Does Twilight

Last night I attended the UK Premiere of Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1.

I managed to blag myself two tickets to the event (thanks for the gift of the gab mum), and arrived at Westfield Stratford ready to star spot, and boy were the stars out!

It was like a clear, black winter night where in the darkness the stars twinkled prettily, attracting many an admiring gaze.

Only with those gazes also came the far less tranquil screams from hysterical teenage girls, eyes out on stalks all on the hunt for R Patz, K Stew & Tay Tay (Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner for non twihards)

I on the other hand was definitely far too cool for school, choosing to simple acknowledge a stars presence by glancing their way fleetingly.

Yeah right. I was there, with my camera, just as eager as those teen girls for a sighting or pic (but just slightly less hysterical)

Jamie Campbell Bower, R Patz, K Stew & Taylor Lautner

Everyone was surprised when K Stew rocked up, looking stunning in a Roberto Cavalli gothic, black gown.

MyAnna Buring, K Stew & Holly Valance

With the LA premiere only 48 hours before it was though she wouldn't be attending.

She did however opt for comfort over style, kicking off her sky scraper heels in favour for her trusty Nike trainers whilst signing autographs.

R patz, Tom & Danny from McFly & Kristen & Robert share a whisper

But what does one wear to the biggest UK premiere of the year? How does one have their hair and what make up should one plaster over ones face?

Well let me tell you in pictures.

The Outfit

Boohoo’s Jenny One Shoulder Peplum Bodycon Dress (£25) looked gorgeous paired with an Oasis Belt (£16) over a pair of Spanx black tights

(we all need a little help every now and then!)

Boohoo’s  Tara Suedette Heeled Chelsea Shoe Boots (£25) set the look off perfectly, making the outfit more edgy than court shoes or strappy heels.

Motel Rocks’ Freya Faux Fur crop jacket (£65), kept me toasty warm, adding a vintage Hollywood twist to the look.

The Hair

Created by favourite girls at The Powder Rooms in Soho, London they always manage to tame, set and fix my difficult hair into the most beautiful styles.

Beth created this gorgeous up 'do

The Makeup

Me & the gorgeous MyAnna Buring aka Vampire Tanya Denali

I Spy LittleMix!

Amelia Lily rocking candy floss pink hair

And the film? I wont say anything as i'd hate to spoil it for you, but really enjoyed it! I was pleasantly suprised at the point where the film ended and now cant wait to see part two!

(PS you must stay until the end of the credits or you will miss out on another scene!)

Are you going to see Breaking Dawn? What do you think Bella's dress will look like? Have you seen the film already? What did you think?

This September's GlossyBox

You may well remember back in June me telling you all about a fab new beauty related product called GlossyBox.

Three months on, Glossy Box is going from strength to strength and this month I took a sneak peak at their September box.

For those of you who missed my post, GlossyBox is a monthly subscription service where for the reasonable price of £12.95, you will receive in the post, in a beautifully packaged box, a mix of five carefully selected, high-end miniature beauty samples.

It’s a great concept, allowing you to find out about and try a huge range of products which you perhaps wouldn’t normally try. Further more, if you find that you love the products and want to buy them yourself, GlossyBox provide you with exclusive discount codes to use when purchasing the full size product.

The September Box sees GlossyBox maintaining their high standard of products with a range of items from make up to haircare, skincare to fragrance.

In my box this month there was:

HD Brows Eye & brow Palette

Dead Sea Spa Magik Salts

Neal and Wolf Glow Super shine spray

Moa The Green Balm

Plum by Mary Greenwell

I was very surprised and somewhat delighted to see that there was a FULL SIZE  HD Brows kit in this months box- Not only do I already use HD Brow’s Eye & Brow palette every single day, it is one of my absolute staple products that I cannot live without!  The multi-use palette contains four matte eye brow colours that can double up as eye shadow and eyeliner and last 24 hours- these bad boys wont leave your eyes or brows unless you want them to!

Im a sucker for body scrubs and loved the Dead Sea Spa Magik salts- a blend of Dead Sea Salts, Vitamin E & Coconut Oil paired with a lovely fresh citrus aroma. A lovely, refreshing body scrub for all those of you who like to have silky smooth bods!

Neal & Wolf Glow Super Shine Spray smells divine and gave my hair a wonderful shine. The smell reminds me of baby powder, not overpowering or chemical smelling and can be used to smooth hair, control frizz and tame static as well as adding shine.

Moa The Green Balm is something ive never heard of before and am delighted to have found. Moa is a natural skin care balm with ‘miraculous’ healing powers to soothe, nourish and renew dry, itchy skin conditions, bumps, bites, grazes and minor burns.

It feels nourishing, has a pleasant natural smell is incredibly cute- Am a big fan of products which have multi uses- especially in a recession!

The fragrance I received was Plum by celebrity make up artist Mary Greenwell. Plum, a contemporary chypre, blends top notes of peach, blackcurrant, plum, bergamot and lemon. Harmonious heart notes of Gardenia, tuberose, orange flower absolute, rose absolute and jasmine absolute. Followed by delicious Dry down of Precious Woods, Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Amber, and White Musks.

I have to be honest, I wasn’t that keen on the fragrance, but fragrance preferences are so personal im sure many will love it.

So there you have it, GlossyBox delivers once more!

What do you think about GlossyBox? Do you subscribe? Do you think for £12.95 you are getting value for money? Let me know!
