Paul & Joe Launch a PURRRRFFFFECT Anniversary Collection

There are two huge loves in my life.

One being make up, the other being cats.

(Ok well actually there are loads more than that but it wouldn’t quite have the same effect to mention those!)

I am under no illusion that one day I shall follow in my mother’s footsteps and become that mad cat lady.

(sorry mum!)

Until that time however, I can indulge my love of all things feline with the help of gorgeous cosmetics brand Paul & Joe.

In honour of Paul & Joe’s 10th anniversary, all spring items have been inspired by designer, Sophie Albou’s love of cats

(A woman after my own heart)

My heart quite literally skipped a beat when I saw the beautiful  face colours, lipsticks, pressed powder and blusher sticks of their new collection.
L-R Kittycat, Siamese Please & Purr-fect

Their face and eye colours (£19.50) come in three beautiful shades, each featuring a cute kitty within it.

Kittycat Is a gorgeous matte nude and pearly pink, perfect pairing for a feminine effect.

Siamese Please, contains neutral yet elegant bronzes and beiges which blend together for a natural, beautiful look.

Purr-fect  Has the smoky yet subtle ivory and moss shades to add intrigue and depth for a daring look.

L-R Sex Kitten, Meow! and Catwalk
The three pretty lipstick shades, Sex Kitten, Meow! and Catwalk (£16) are covered in cute paw prints and give a matte finish for  a sexy, soft focus look.

Pressed powder is right up there on my must have product and every time I get this little cutie out of my bag it makes me smile.
The fresh, mattifying powder is encased within a pretty teal compact, complete with the cute face of a kitty on the lid (£28)

Inside you find a spicy beige shade in the shape of an adorable feline that allows you to help contour your face while the translucent powder stops shine in its tracks.

If that wasn’t enough, the applicator is also stamped with a paw print!

Just when you think there’s nothing cuter for you to coo over, take a look at the blusher sticks! (£21)

Three Cat shaped creamy cheek powders that glides on to create a flawless finish.

L-R Glamour Puss, Minou & Catfight

Available in 3 shades, Glamour Puss, Minou and Catfight, you will find it hard to bring yourself to use them.
They’re too damn cute and their little top hats are beyond adorable!

The Face & Eye Color and Lipstick are available online exclusively at ASOS  now and the full range is available in store at Fenwick, New Bond Street  on the 14th January and Harrods, Knightsbridge from the 23rd January.

So, what do you think of the range? Will you be purchasing a litter, no sorry, a ‘collection’ of your own?

Bobbi Brown Party Season Treats!

One of my favorite luxury beauty brands is Bobbi Brown and this winter I have fallen in love with two of their new pieces, their Party Shimmer Brick & the Pastel Sugar Eye Sparkle quad.

The party shimmer brick is the latest in the ‘brick’ collection from Bobbi Brown, with gorgeous silver and gold perfect for the forthcoming party season.

You can go for a glimmer of gold or a sparkle of silver with this set or combine to two to create a rich, gorgeous glow perfect for accentuating cheekbones, brow bones or just to brighten your face with its glowing effect.

Silver & Gold
The brick is gorgeous to look at, depicting a cocktail shaker and glass which I think is both fabulous and   unique.

Silver and Gold blended together
This is one of my must have item’s this party season.

My other favourite item is the beautiful Pastel Eye Sparkle quad.

Now before you say anything I know that the shadows are not highly pigmented, indeed they were not designed to be.

The shadows offer a gorgeous, glimmering  appearance to help light up your face and can be used over other shadows to give a more sparkly effect.

The four shadows consist of Pale Turquoise Sparkle, Halo Sparkle, Storm Sparkle and Orchid Sparkle and are set within Silver Sparkle, so you are actually getting 5 shadows and with such a variety of colours you can mix and match to create any look you like.

Bobbie Brown Party Shimmer Brick costs £32.50 and the Pastel Sugar Eye Sparkle costs £30, both are available from Bobbi Brown online now.

Accessorize Autumn/Winter Cosmetics Collection

Let’s be honest. Accessorize is not a shop you would associate with make up. Gorgeous jewellery, bags, shoes and accessories yes, but foundation, blushers and mascara’s, no.

Despite the fact that Accessorize launched their cosmetics range over a year ago, i had yet to ever try them out, probably partly due to the fact that the make- up snob within me viewed the range as being aimed at teeny-boppers and the other being that as cosmetics aren’t Accessorizes main selling attraction, i may have assumed that they were a poorly made, bad quality after thought.

I’m happy to say i was wrong and that i was really quite impressed with their range of items which i tried from their A/W 2011 collection.

It wasn’t just the gorgeous packaging that won  me over, with the shiny, neat pots and tubes emblazoned with images of golden butterflies, but the quality of the items themselves.

I tried out several items from the collection and fell in love with them all pretty much from the word go.

Baked Bronzer Duo Ball in Shade 2, £6, was divine. One half of the baked ball being a rich, matte bronze and the other adding more shine and sparkle.

Baked Blusher in Quiver, £5, looked a lovely pinky, pearly shade in the pot but transformed into a gorgeous, matte blush with just a hint of shimmer to bring your cheeks to life.

The Baked Duo Eyeshadow in Thalia, £2, was my favourite. Beautiful to look at you could easily get lost in the swirls and glimmer of the shadow. Easy to apply and highly pigmented it looked gorgeous on my eyelids.

Similarly the Baked Eyeshadow Trio in Dazzlingly Devastating  whilst beautiful to look at is perfect for creating depth and shading on your eyelids, with deep, rich, highly pigmented tones which are easy to blend.

The Picture Perfect long Lasting Foundation with SPF 20 was creamy, rich and provided more than adequate coverage on my skin and for £8 i think its a total bargain, just be careful when squeezing the product from the tube as the hole which it is dispensed from is rather large, resulting in a lot of product being released at one go.

Finally is their Collagen Mascara, £6. The big brush and ultra volumising formula results in big, fat lashes and the tube is so pretty! I love big brushes and this one doesnt bring out too much product with it and the formula builds really nicely without clumping.

Accessorize cosmetics are available from Accessorize stores and Superdrug and for such gorgeous items i think they are incredibly reasonably priced and would make gorgeous stocking fillers!

What do you think, have you tried any of the Accessorize cosmetics range?

Biba's Lip Gloss Ring

September saw the re-launch of the globally iconic brand Biba, with their capsule collection being exclusively available at House of Fraser.

Biba is known for its affordable pieces and its fashion forward style with easy to wear shades and fab quality products.

Inspired by 1930’s Hollywood Glamour, the collection includes a Lip palette, Eye Palette, Face Palette, Nail Polish Collection, Eyelash Collection and my favourite item, a Lip Gloss Ring.

Biba’s  Lip Gloss ring is gorgeous! What an inspired idea, combining jewellery with make up, I love it.

We all know how small our gorgeous little bags can be that we take on nights out. The ones that we bought purely because they went with our dress/shoes/hair on that night and not for their practical uses.

There’s barely room for your mobile and a compact in there let alone lipgloss’s, mascara’s and other such items that may be needed throughout the night.

That’s why I love this product so much!

Quite apart from the fact that the lip gloss is a gorgeous, subtle pink colour, extremely  moisturing and gives your lips a great shine- it can actually become part of your outfit for the night!

No more digging around in your bag to find your lip balm ore gloss when it needs a top up, just slide the lid of the ring across and voila!

At £15 it is such a bargain- you can often pay £15 for just a gloss on its own or £15 for just a ring, so to have two in one is a recession busting, amazing idea!

The Ring and the rest of the collection is available from House of Fraser now.

Queen Cosmetics, for us Sensitive Souls

To all my sensitive skinned Fabulicious lovies.

I have researched tirelessly, scoured the world wide web, & done all the hard work for you to find you a beauty brand which is perfect for your sensitive skin. (You can thank me later!)

Queen Cosmetics which was believe it or not founded in 1927 has an incredible range of cosmetic products designed especially for us sensitive skinned girls.

Queen is unique among cosmetics companies because their commitment is to sensitive skin and sensitive skin alone- you know you onto a winner when this is the case!

As a small, UK company the chances are you wont have heard of them- they aren’t stocked in Boots or Superdrug, or indeed in any other massive department store.

Its not just this illusiveness which makes them seem a little bit exclusive and special, but the packaging as well.
Its not brightly Packaged or flashy. Its very understated and simple- taking nothing away from the quality of the product, which speaks for itself.

The Mascara is divine.  Its a very gentle formulation which leaves lashes defined and glossy and which is suitable for even the most sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

It’s a great consistency which goes on well and the long brush allows you to reach every single one of your lashes leaving them thick and glossy.

Their eye pencils are just as fab and come in 6 different colours; Azure (blue), Black, Brown, Grey, Light Green and Violet. Wonderfully soft and easy to use they are long lasting and wont irritate the delicate area around your eyes.

Queen is a brand which recognises that less is most definitely more and on top of everything else it wont break the bank.

If you are now desperate to try this brand out you can buy their items from their website here.

Their Mascara is £10.75 and their pencils are £6.75.
