Limited Edition Alien Mirage

Mirage is the intoxicating new Limited Edition fragrance from Thierry Mugler Alien.

A refreshing and yet bewitching scent, Mirage is a lighter incarnation of Alien but equally mesmerising and enchanting.

Described as a Floral Acquatic Amber, it is a captivating, sparkling fragrance that blurs the line between illusion and reality.

Captured within the same shaped vessel as Alien, Mirage has been transformed with a lightly tinted blue-grey gradient which radiates out through the multi-faceted, sparkling glass.

The pale, natural hue reflects the aquatic freshness of the juice within and is finished with a futuristic silver and transparent detailing around the cap.

The fragrance opens with notes of spicy pink peppercorn, offering a somewhat masculine element to the scent.

Heart notes of Lotus flower and seringa flower burst onto the scene, offering a floral lightness and depth before base notes of well rounded and wholesome hinoki wood combine with the smooth warmth of white amber to create a wonderfully refined and elegant fragrance.

I think I might actually prefer Mirage to Alien original thanks to its delightful freshness.

The blend of complex notes somehow manages to retain all the bewitching and enticing elements of Alien but brings a lighter, saltier and dare I say earthier notes to a fragrance which is otherwise out-of-this-world.

Alien Mirage is available from Feburary 1st and costs £59 for 60ml.

GLAMGLOW BRIGHTEYES Illuminating Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream

They say your eyes are the window to your soul. If this is the case then mine say that my soul is dog tired!

I am forever on the hunt for lotions and potions that can hide the fact that I’ve been constantly tired for over 6 years now. (Do you think that’s a coincidence that my son is 6 years old? I think not!)

Parenthood combined with the arrival of my mid-thirties has resulted in my eye area looking less than fresh so I was very excited to try out GLAMGLOW’s new BRIGHTEYES Illuminating Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream.

Does it come by the bucket load?!

Housed within a pretty rose gold metallic pot with the iconic GLAMGLOW star adorning the lid you’ll find a super pretty, pale pink pearlescent cream.

Lightweight and fragrance free, the cream claims to help instantly brighten and revive tired eyes as well as gently erasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, so as you can imagine I got stuck right in!

As you may expect the cream contains Hyaluronic Acid, the universal skincare hero that offers all-day hydration helping to fight dryness and the appearance of fine lines by plumping them, creating a flawless base for eye makeup.

When used regularly, Narcissus and Peptides work hard to smooth and refine your skins texture, reducing fine lines helping to strengthen your skins moisture barrier to portect against the causes of fatigue.

Speaking of fatigue, it is also infused with a dose of caffeine to instantly energise and revive tired eyes.

The cream itself is wonderfully rich yet surprisingly light. In fact, it was absorbed so quickly and efficiently that I was left questioning whether I had even applied it!

However, upon closer inspection it was instantly possibly to decipher which eye had been treated and which hadn’t, thanks to the pearlescent, illuminating spheres which get to work straight away to brighten dark circles around your eyes.

Immediately I could see a visible difference, with the dark circles of my left eye looking noticeably less than the right.

I love the addition of this illuminating element to the cream as it gives you instant results while the product gets to work behind the scenes!

Once applied, my eye area felt immediately refreshed and soothed, hydrated and nourished.

Its feather-light texture ensured that the cream was absorbed really quickly while its effects lasted far longer!

The jury’s out on its ability to reduce fine lines over time as I’ve only been using it regularly for a couple of weeks, however I’m convinced of its ability to instantly brighten the eye area and it is just a pleasure to apply.

Ciate Watermelon Under Eye Masks

Banish tired, dehydrated eyes with Ciate’s Watermelon Under Eye Masks (£22)

While familiar with sheet masks I’d never tried an eye mask before and was unsure what to expect in terms of results as usually I stick to a regular eye cream, so I was excited to test these out.

Made in Korea and created with a cocktail of skin loving ingredients, these patches claim to restore, revitalise and reduce the appearance of fine lines resulting in a brighter, refreshed under eye area.

Created to resemble watermelon slices they are wonderfully cute, very k-beauty and undoubtedly eye catching (‘scuse the pun).

Each hydro-gel patch is infused with skincare superhero Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate, watermelon extract to brighten, Niacinamide to smooth and a boosting vitamin complex.

To use, simply peel off the backing of the patches to reveal the cool, sticky, jelly like treatment area.

Position under each eye, gently press on then sit back for 15-20 minutes and allow the ingredients to work their magic.

Upon application you’ll notice how wonderfully refreshing the patches make you skin feel.

In fact, you can even keep them in your fridge to maximise their cooling effect.

Once removed, the patches had left my skin feeling plump, pampered and revived.

While I can’t say that I noticed a massive difference in the appearance of my fine lines, its hydrating and plumping qualities certainly helped to restore radiance and brightness to the area which in turn definitely improved the overall appearance of my complexion.

My only gripe was that despite their fruity appearance, they are actually fragrance free, which given that it is an eye care product I understand, but personally I was expecting to be met with the sweet aroma of watermelon.

You can get your hands on Ciate’s Watermelon Under Eye Masks now from their website where they cost £22.
