Katy Perry Killer Queen: Reviewed

 Next Wednesday 28th August is a date any Katy Perry fan will want to put in their diary as it’s the day Katy’s newest fragrance Killer Queen Launches.

Killer Queen is a far more grown up looking perfume than Katy’s previous releases such as Meow and Purr, with the fragrance captured inside a jewel shaped bottle, inspired by a queen’s scepter.

Killer Queen is designed to portray sophistication and luxury and yet the fragrance manages to retain Katy’s playful side. It’s light, very sweet and really rather pleasant!

It isn’t at all over powering and I loved how it smelt on my skin after 30 minutes or so; really soft and musky!

 Top Notes
Wild Berry
Dark Plum
Bergamot

Middle Notes
Red Velvet Flower
Natural Jasmine Sambac
Rainbow Plumeria

Base Notes
Cashmeran
Natural Patchouli Heart
Liquid Praline

Now I know you should never judge a fragrance on its bottle but I may have done that initially, picturing Killer Queen to be really heady, deep and powerful, but it wasn’t at all and I really loved it.

Killer Queen is available to buy from the 28th August and retails at £29.50 for 50ml.

Megan Fox Named As Face Of Avon's New Fragrance: Instinct

Avon has announced the latest face of their new fragrance, Instinct, and it’s goodie!

It’s only blinkin' Megan Fox!

In the words of Avon;

 Instinct is an ode to the kind of sensuality that Fox embodies.

When we developed Avon Instinct, we were looking for someone who could portray the essence of a wildly alluring fragrance. No one evokes magnetic attraction better than Megan—men and women alike see her as a bold, captivating beauty.

She’s the perfect face for a scent that’s intensely alluring.

Megan says of the collaboration;

When Avon approached me to be the face of Instinct, I was thrilled about the opportunity to represent these fragrances. I’m so excited to be a part of this brand I’ve always loved and respected.

The new fragrance from Avon will launch mid September, will you be trying it?

Aveeno Moisturising Creamy Oil

I may have an oily complexion but the rest of my skin is super dry and I’m always on the hunt for the next great body moisturiser.

The problems I tend to find  when hunting for the perfect moisturiser are the following;

Body lotions while light and non greasy are often to thin, watery and leave my skin craving more moisture 5 minutes after application.

Oils are great and super nourishing, but leave me feeling like a gigantic oil slick for sometimes hours while I wait for them to sink into my skin.

Body Butters, while thick, creamy and effective, are again, like oils, often greasy. Yes they leave my skin soft and supple, but my skin can feel heavy and clogged

So what’s the answer?

Well, I think Aveeno have found it in their Moisturising Creamy Oil.

Lets not get confused, this moisturiser is not an oil, indeed the consistency is far more like that of a lotion.

It’s delicate and light on my skin, but unlike a regular lotion, leaves me skin feeling completely nourished, soft and yummy!

AND it is absolutely 100% non greasy and you won’t be left needing to wash the residual cream off your hands as it sinks in immediately!

The creamy oil contains naturally active colloidal oatmeal and sweet almond oil and essentially combines the moisturising benefits of an oil with the convenience of a lotion.

Did I mention it smells AMAZING? Think soft and subtly sweet marzipan. It is delicious!

Even better is the price, which at Boots is currently just £4.77, reduced from £7.15.

This really is a gem of a product and though the packaging doesn’t scream Look at me! Try Me! I can’t recommend highly enough that you do!
