Vintage Pout Luxury Lip Balm

Having a lip balm that is functional but boring is not an option for the brand Vintage Pout.
Their organic lip balms are encrusted in beautiful jewels, offering the ultimate luxury lip balm!

Available in 7 different designs, each compact balm features the same thick, moisturising ‘peppermint paty’ glossy balm that leaves your lips feeling incredibly soft and nourished.

The fragrance is extremely delicate and you do need to warm the balm with your finger tips to allow it to warm before applying to your lips.
I love the little heart shaped mirror within the compact and at £14 though it was a really reasonable price for a fab balm and a really pretty compact.

This luxury lip balm is available from Vintage Pout and would make the perfect gift for any lady!

Too Faced Air Buffed BB Crème

I’ve tried many a BB cream, but all of those have been just that. A cream. A liquidy, fluidy cream.

Not this BB Cream, or should I say, crème .

Too Faced’s Air Buffed BB Crème (£32) is a full coverage, compact BB cream, beautifully presented in a little jar, complete with its own little snap- in- place buffing brush!

Available in 5 shades, it’s clear to see that the shade I got (Cream Glow) is far too dark for my pale skin (doh!) so be careful when ordering to make sure you get the right one!

Too Faced Air Buffed BB Crème is a complete coverage balm that is designed to correct uneven skin tone and banishes imperfections with its 5 in 1 benefits.

The cream to powder formula instantly concealed and brightened my complexion and the cute little brush allowed me to build the coverage where I needed it most (think blemishes and eye bags!)

Rose Fruit Extract helps to mattify the skin and refines pores, extracts of Star Fruit Leaf moisturise the skin and SPF 20 sunscreen shields the skin from un-necessary UV damage.

Aside from its physical form, this BB cream differs massively from the majority of others due to its super thick coverage, which I actually rather love.

I always viewed a BB cream as a light alternative to thick and heavy make- up, so to find one that is just the opposite threw me a bit!

That said, as with all BB creams, I love the duality of their skincare and makeup properties, and we all have those days where we need a little extra coverage and help with our skin, so why not have a BB cream that can do that.

Swatched

I know I’m harping on about how thick the cream is and how it offers full coverage, but actually you can adjust how much you need to use and what level of coverage you want to use easily with the snap in place Air Buff Brush.

Lightly Buffed

It is deliciously soft and leaves the balm evenly distributed on your skin for a flawless finish.

Fully Blended

At £32 this is an expensive buy, but think about how much use you can get from this. You can apply just a little for the days when you want just a tiny amount of coverage, or build it up for days when you need a little extra help, all while enjoying the properties associated with a regular Blemish Balm and you get a gorgeous little brush too!

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipsticks

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipsticks (£8.99) are not just a mouthful to say, they are also the latest lippie range from cult brand, the creators of the supremely popular Colorburst Lip Butters.

Is it just me that gets annoyed with the lack of the letter ‘u’ in their word ‘color’?!

Anyway, these new semi-matte lippies which are out this month are said to offer ‘a powder like finish which give instant moisture and all day colour to your lips’.

Their moisturising properties come from Vitamin E, Aloe and Shea Butter while Revlon’s Colorstay technology is designed to leave you with colour that lasts for ages.

I tried out two of their 14 shades, High Heels and Womenswear.

Firstly can I just say, I love the packaging- It’s compact, chic and cute and I like the ‘click’ you get when you twist the lippie up.

I also really liked the texture of the product which glided onto my lips like silk but felt soft and comforting like velvet.

I wasn’t, however, such a fan of the shades.

Perhaps it was just the two I chose, but both of them had really iridescent properties to them (which you may or may not be able to pick up on in my photos) making my lips look shimmery, which I did not like.

L-R Womenswear & High Heels

They are being marketed as a semi-matte lipstick, yet the appearance is that of a shimmery, glossy lip, which I thought odd.

That said, they did feel really nice on my lips and weren’t drying, but I did notice that while the base colour lasted a fair while, the iridescent sheen disappeared quite quickly, and unevenly, meaning I had to keep topping it up so my lips didn’t look half done!

I really wanted to give these an 8 or 9 out of 10 and had high hopes after the huge success of their Lip Butters, but on this occasion they didn’t quite make it. I think I’m going to try out a few of their other 14 shades and see if I get on better with any of them.

What do you think? Have you tried any of these out yet?

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick

Re-create Brand Ambassador Katie Holmes stunning look with Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick’s.

Katie wears Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in shades Violet Plum and Bark

Available in 8 wearable shades, the colour rich formula glides onto your eyes to offer flake and fade free colour for up to 8 hours!

Sound impressive don't they, and they are!

L-R Violet Plum & Vanilla

Vitamin C and E protect the delicate eye area while skin conditioners help create a smooth, comfortable and lightweight feel that is not oily or tacky.

The formula is gorgeous and really easy to use, making shading, defining and blending a doddle!

L-R Violet Plum & Vanilla

Unlike some other eye crayons or sticks which are thick and bulky and make it hard to get precise strokes around the eyes, these are slim and sleek and easy to manoeuvre!

The pigmentation is fabulous too- I am able to use the stick to both line my eyes and to blend and smudge to my heart’s content!

Violet Plum from the stick and blended

After a hard day in the office, the shadow was still on my eyes, as opposed to having dropped onto my cheeks which was a lovely surprise! I only had to add a little more to freshen it up for the evening and I was away!

Vanilla, from the stick & blended

My only grumble is that they only have 8 shades, and while they are lovely colours, I’d love to see a bigger range!

Bobbi Brown’s Long Wear Cream Shadow Sticks are available now and cost £20 each.
