Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal

Scandal is the beautiful and addictive new scent from Jean Paul Gaultier.

Designed specifically to be the most perfect scent for both day and night time wear, it possesses an elegant aura and is captured within one of the most beautiful bottles I’ve ever seen.

For 20 years Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances have come in bottles fashioned in the form of busts but Scandal has bucked the trend!

This feminine, intimate, powdery pink juice is housed in a thick, heavy and chic glass bottled adorned with a silver stopper feature a pair of legs in heels!

This playful and distinctive stopper invokes images of woman dancing the night away and having fun, exactly what this fragrance represents!

It is as iconic a bottle as the JPG busts without a doubt and I love it!

The bottle itself is housed within powder pink velvet covered tin which not only reflects the colour of the perfume itself but offers a feminine softness too.

As for the fragrance itself, well, it is magnificent.

Top notes of sweet, fresh honey mix with sensuous and soft blood orange before heart notes of gardenia sweep into play.

Base notes of patchouli, Ambrox and black vanilla offer a sweet, musky and sensual tone to the fragrance leaving a scent that is both fresh and sweet, yet rich and mysterious.

It is an exquisite, rich and woody fragrance that screams playful sophistication.

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal is a seductive, feminine and chic fragrance and I simply adore it!
Scandal is available now and costs £63.50 for 50ml.

Goodlife : They know their veg!

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not (and have never been) a fan of vegetables.

I’ve always viewed them as an evil necessity. Something to be consumed for the sake of your health. Something that is not enjoyable.

I was a bit nervous then when I was asked if I’d like to try GOODLIFE’s range of vegetable based frozen foods.

GOODLIFE have been seeking out the most amazing vegetables from Great Britain’s best farmers and using them to create vegetarian meals for you and your family for over 25 years.

They work closely with their farmers to sow, grow and harvest the best vegetables at their peak and put them in the spotlight, making them the star of a meal rather than part of the chorus in the background.

Their food contains absolutely no artificial additives, preservatives or colourings, and despite my life long dislike of veg, I have to say that from the start their food looked (and sounded) really appealing.

I tested out four products from their range; Falafel with Chickpea, Cumin & Coriander, French Bean & Spinach Sausages with Wensleydale Cheese, Mushroom & Spinach Kiev with a Creamy Garlic and Cheese Sauce and Vegetable Masala with Cauliflower Rice.

First up is their Falafel (£1.80).

Despite not being a big veg fan I’ve always enjoyed falafel and I can safely day that these were delicious.

These classic, Middle-Eastern domes of delight are made with chickpeas and a hint of spice and are ridiculously moreish! Soft, tasty and delicately spiced they didn’t last long!

I wasn’t sure what to expect from these as I’m not a great fan of beans but I was pleasantly surprised!

Crisp French beans, sweet petit pois, fresh spinach and nutmeg create a beautifully textured, sweet and soft sausage. Mild and crumbly wensleydale offer depth to the taste and left me wanting more.

I was really impressed by these and never expected that a sausage made entirely from vegetables could be quite so tasty. These were a big hit with my husband which I didn’t expect as he loves a sausage, but he declared ‘I think I’d chose these over a banger any day’. So there you go!

Next up are my favourite from the collection. The incredible Mushroom & Spinach Kiev with a Creamy Garlic and Cheese Sauce (£2.25).

Hiding within a crunchy, seeded breadcrumb you’ll find earthy mushrooms, tender spinach and  mouthwatering creamy garlic and cheese sauce.

These kiev’s were nothing short of amazing. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and featuring a rich, garlicky, creamy centre they are nothing short of a masterpiece.

Packed full of texture and flavour I would without a shadow of a doubt choose to have one of these over a regular chicken kiev.

The mix of flavours is gorgeous and I thoroughly enjoyed eating these!

Last but by no means least is their Vegetable Masala with Cauliflower Rice (£2.25).

Containing 3 of your 5 a day this protein rich dish combines sweet potato and red peppers in a fragrant curry sauce made from coconut milk, tomatoes and indian spices.

This curry sits on a bed of soft, fluffy cauliflower rice and is a delicious, warming treat of a meal.

It is a really mild, delicate masala so if you don’t like things too spicy you’ll love this. Sweet potato offers a soft and sweet experience while the peppers give a lovely, fresh and distinctive taste to the meal.

I’m already a fan of cauliflower rice and I love that in just 1 meal you have ticked off 3 of your 5 a day, all while eating what feels like a naughty treat!

I’m seriously impressed with this brand and their meals and for someone who isn’t a big lover of veg that’s a big deal!

You can try GOODLIFE’s range of foods now from Sainsburys.

Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops

Before I start I just need to say that I bloody LOVE the new Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops.

Just LOOK at them.

They are beautiful.

So, by now we are all aware of the benefits of indulging in a little highlighting; I’m talking dewey, glowing skin, brow bones that pop and cheek bones that look like they were carved by the gods.

Pretty much every brand out there has their own highlighter- be it in powder, cream or liquid form and I’m delighted to see that Barry M have launched their own range of stunning liquid highlighters.

Available in 5 gorgeous, metallic shades to suit every skin tone this collection can be used alone to highlight your bone structure or added to your foundation for an all over glow and at a bargainous £6.99 each you can treat yourself to more than one without breaking the bank and after you’ve tried them, trust me, you’re going to want them all.

The drops are really lightweight in texture, scent free and blend really easily into your skin.

You need to take a bit of care when applying over the top of your make up once its set (as you do with any liquid highlighter) but they aren’t heavy or greasy and they sit beautifully on your skin.

Moon Potion

So, first up we’ve got the shade Moon Potion.

Ideal for paler skin tones this highlighter has an ethereal, blue-lilacy undertone to it and would be perfect for achieving a really striking look.

At First Light

Next up we’ve got At First Light, a pretty pearly pink which again would be great for light-medium skin tones and offers a slightly more natural glow to your complexion.

Liquid Fortune

Liquid Fortune is next. Perfect for deeper tones this rich metallic gold offers an intense, warm glow.

Precious Pearl

Precious Pearl is similar to At First Light in that it has a pinky undertone but is far more pearlescent and creates a really intense, powerful look.

Beam Me Up

Lastly we have Beam Me Up which is a really gorgeous, delicate sandy coloured highlighter.

A great all rounder in terms of skin tone suitability, Beam Me Up offers a pretty, subtle glow.

I love these little drops from heaven!

Barry M’s Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops are available now and cost £6.99 each.
