Emma Hardie Amazing Face Age Support Eye Cream

As my ongoing battle to slow down the effects of age on my skin rages on, as does my quest for the perfect eye cream.

One of my current faves is the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Age Support Eye Cream (£39) (yes it’s a bit of a mouthful right!)

This thick, rich cream is a fabulous treat for your eye area and perfect for the forthcoming cold, winter months when your skin need just a little more moisture and nourishment.

It contains natural oils of Moringa, Evening Primrose and Rose Hip which help to nourish, moisturise and soothe the skin whilst Vitamin E protects the skin against toxins and pollution.

It also features Hyaluronic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid Filling Spheres  which help to soothe, hydrate and plump the skin whilst something called ‘Collageneer’ is meant to help keep your skin feeling firm.

This bad boy is literally packed full of face loving ingredients with active peptides of Matrixyl 3000 to stimulate faster collagen  and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while a Natural Polymatrix Algae Film Extract helps to lift the skin for a more plump, healthier glow.

So basically it contains some impressive ingredients, but does it work?

Well, I’ve been using it twice a day for around 5 weeks now and I’m pretty happy with the results.
While the cream is both rich and thick, it’s not at all greasy and is quickly absorbed into your skin.

(Be warned, you do only need a small amount of product, a little goes a long way.)

While I wouldn’t say that my wrinkles and crows feet have magically gone away, they certainly look better and definitely haven’t got any worse.

In the morning I can actually see a difference in the texture of my skin prior to and directly after application with my skin looking and feeling softer and more awake.

One thing it does do a great job of is reducing early morning puffiness under your eyes. I’ve actually been known to pop this in the fridge over night for a more impressive, cooling and soothing hit for the mornings when I really need a good pick-me-up!

Its not the cheapest product out there at £39 for 15ml, but you do only need a small amount of product and it lasts for ages.

Plus, would you really put a price on younger looking skin (within reason obvs!)?

Didn’t think so!

The Emma Hardie Amazing Face Age Support Eye Cream is available now from their website.

L'Occitane Melting Honey Collection

L’Occitane’s new Melting Honey collection has to be one of my all time favourite L’Occitane ranges.

For this collection L’Occitane have combined the fabulous benefits of shea butter from Burkina Faso with the soothing and protective properties of honey from Provence.

While I deteste the taste of honey I adore its scent and this range did not disappoint.

The guys at L’Occitane chose to blend their iconic shea butter with an organic, rare lavender honey from the Provence region of France. The bees spend their summer in aromatic lavender fields which create a beautiful and exceptionally special honey.

This honey combined with the soft, nourishing  properties of their shea butter creates a stunning, warming, treat for your body and senses.

My hero products from the range include the Ultra Soft Cream (£18) which contains 10% shea butter and leaves your skin feeling silky soft and smooth. The non-greasy, rich Hand Cream (£8) contains a whopping 25% shea butter and is a handbag staple while the Lip Balm (£8.50) melts onto your lips leaving a gorgeous sheen and smells delectable!

Also available is the Soft Shower Gel (£14) and Exfoliating Sugars (£22)  which do a fabulous job of buffing and cleansing your skin to silky smooth perfection while leaving behind a delicate and delicious hint of honey scent.

The final product in the range is the Solidarity Soap (£3) which is a little bit special.

October 8th is World Sight Day and every year L’Occitane sells a fund-raising ”solidarity soap” with the support of the L’Occitane Foundation,to finance NGO programmes aimed at fighting visual impairment in Burkina Faso, where their fair trade shea butter is produced.

100% of the profits from the sale of each soap will enable a person from the rural area of Burkina to have access to glasses and eye care.

Talk about beauty with a conscience.
